Volume 1 Chapter 23 Building a House

From the preliminary judgment, I know that the top of the cave has collapsed, and I don't have anything to say about it.

It's something I've been worrying about since I used to expand the cave, and today it's finally a dream come true!!

Although it didn't suffocate me, I felt some pain in my body, especially the thigh area may have been hit by a small stone, although not to mention the huge pain is unbearable, it is estimated that a bruise is indispensable!

The information transmitted to the brain through various parts of the body made me know that the whole person was almost buried by the falling dirt starting from the navel and ending the toes.

The most dirt is still on the feet, and the thighs are almost completely immobile, indicating that there is more than a little dirt.

The pitch black in the cave is completely invisible, and I can only slowly grope with my hands to find out the situation, and it is my greatest luck that I can still move with both hands, and then it will be a tragedy!

After quickly removing the dirt from your stomach, you can finally sit up and clean the dirt from your legs.

Three minutes later, the moment my legs were pulled out of the soil, I felt like I could jump three meters high, and of course I should be glad that I didn't suffer much damage.

There was no need for the outer wall to exist, and I didn't dare to stay in the cave anymore, so after kicking the leaf wall off in a few strokes, I began to look for the fire fold with a little starlight.

After searching for a long time, I couldn't find it, so I could only go down to the outside of the cave with some disappointment and feel the location of the grass hut, because there was still a fire fold for daily ignition in the grass hut.

......

At this time, the firelight is extremely important, not only can make people feel a lot of security in the dark night, but also add a little warmth to the cold heart.

Coupled with the weather in October, the evenings, especially the early morning, are already a little cool.

The moment the fire was lit, the uneasiness in my heart was calmed down, and I couldn't stay in the cave any longer, which is my thought at this time.

Now, even if I clean it out and let me sit in for a while, it will make me feel like I'm on pins and needles, let alone rest and sleep in it day and night.

I have to beware that this time may be just a prelude, if there is a more serious situation next time, I really dare not guarantee that I can save my life, the only way is to go in less or not go in again!

Sitting in the hut, I was thinking about the housing problem in the back, the cave must not be considered anymore, and my life mattered......

Living in a hut is an option if you want to expand it, but the disadvantage is that the space is relatively small except for the vegetable patch, and the distance from the well and fishing site is not the best option.

So I've been thinking about other more suitable positions, and I have to make a careful decision at this time, because it is related to my living conditions and development in the future.

After much thought, I decided to abandon the cave and the hut, because the large open space at the top of the hill made me very concerned about it soon after I arrived on the island, and I felt that it was easier and safer to build a house.

If there is anything unusual in the open space, you can be alerted in advance, and the top of the mountain is closer to the seaside.

I decided to go up the mountain after dawn to check and make a final decision, for now the main thing is to get through this long dark night, without thick clothes and hay, I can only sit on a stone that usually burns the fire while roasting the fire while sighing about life......

From the moment you jump off the cruise ship, your gloomy life begins, you lose your loved ones, you don't have enough to eat every day, you have to face the torture of the environment, and you have to live like a savage!

About four hours later, it was dawn, and holding a position for a long time also made my legs and feet a little numb, and I checked the thigh injury first.

Although I have checked it in the light of the fire, I am always more careful than the light during the day.

The problem is not serious, but there is indeed a bruise, but I am relieved to see that the problem is not big.

Then I dared to go into the cave to check on the inside, and came to the conclusion that I was lucky, and if I wasn't lucky, I burped last night!

There was a rock bigger than a basketball falling to the side, and it was certain that it was not hit by it last night, and the thought of the scene where it fell directly on the head made people immediately creepy!

Obviously, the cave issue no longer needs to be considered, and the location of the next place of residence needs to be considered, so I am going to go up the mountain first to determine the location of the house and so on.

But this question didn't make me think about it for long, and the first time I saw the well on the mountain, I decided to give up the straw hut......

So after only a while, I came back again, and after the location was determined, it was time to start the meal first.

Caught a fish from the fish pond and prepared to put it in the pot, not only did I not sleep well all night, but also experienced this dangerous scene, a full meal can not only replenish physical strength, but also let the mental aspect get a certain recovery.

What's more, there is still a tough battle to fight next, and you must let yourself have more physical strength!

Cleaning up the cave after breakfast was a must, as most of the property was still inside, and a small part of it was buried in the fallen dirt.

Even if there is a hint of fear in my heart, this step must always go out.

More than half a cubic meter of dirt collapsed in the hole, which doesn't look like much on the surface, but if it hits someone, it can kill if you are unlucky!

The cave must have been abandoned, and all the contents were moved to the hut for storage, and its future use may only be used to store some firewood, which is the only use that can be imagined.

It's not that simple to move, and the location where the house is ready to be built is still an open space overgrown with weeds.

And in addition to the weeds, there are sparse small trees, and today's work is mainly to clear the various obstacles on it.

The process of cleaning up is not complicated, this season some of the weeds have dried up, just put a fire in the open field, you can clean up most of them, this is the fastest way in my opinion!

......

On the third day, when the plastic sheeting that I had just picked up solved the big problem, I erected a few pillars on the side of the open space, pulled it apart and tied it to give me a shelter from the wind and rain.

The timing of the completion of the house is uncertain, but at least it will not be completed in a short period of time, whether it is to protect it from the rain or to store things.

What makes people even more depressed is the process of carrying things next, all the belongings are completed in only three or four round-trips, and even the hay and dry leaves when sleeping at night, which shows how poor it is!

Since then, only the crops in the vegetable field and the fish pond have been left near the cave, and everything else has been carried to the top of the mountain.

In fact, I think the current approach is a bit extreme, you can sleep in a grass hut at night, which is safer than rain and wind.

It was just the thought of wasting time and tossing back and forth that made me decide to camp at the top of the mountain at night.

The location of the top of the mountain is still good, and the back against the mountain wall can inexplicably give people a sense of security, and it is next to the well, which is undoubtedly more convenient to use water.

It is also much easier to get down from the top of the mountain to the island in all directions, and the proximity to the fishing bay will save half the time you used to spend fishing.

After building a rain canopy and using up a few pieces of wood of the right size around me, there was not so much timber for building a house for a while, and I needed it more urgently.

In the end, I had to get up with the idea of going to the island raft last time, it was the right size and length, and the only trouble was to go to the beach and dismantle it and carry it to the top of the mountain one by one.

Building a house is not a one-day job, before that, you need to ensure sufficient food and firewood, food is the key to affecting the progress of the work, and dry firewood is the fear that you will starve if you don't have any reserves after a sudden rain!

When I thought of food, I remembered that the bananas in the woods were ripe one after another, and although there were only three or four trees, one tree produced enough to eat for several days.

It can be used as a staple food for a short period of time and then supplemented with some fish and other foods, and there is no problem at all.

Only one of the four banana trees is fully ripe for the time being, and the others will be a few days later, which is a good thing for me, it will take longer!

......

On the fifth day, a heavy rain extinguished the enthusiasm for building the house, and nothing could be done but eat and sleep under the rain canopy.

Fortunately, a lot of firewood was prepared in advance, otherwise even the desire to eat would have become a luxury.

On the sixth day, the first step is to plan and subdivide the location, orientation, area, and supporting kitchen and toilet of the house, and then collect all kinds of building materials, including wood, leaves and grass for the roof.

For the time being, the preparation of materials is only planned for one room, and this kind of large project will certainly not be completed overnight, and must be carried out step by step.

It's not a good thing to spread the stall too big, and the main purpose is to get yourself into the house first.

On the tenth day, when I looked at the materials piled up on the ground, I thought it should be about the same, and finally started the official construction of the house.

After clearing the ground of the few weeds and small tree stumps, the first step is to level the ground, and then dig nine deep pits of more than 50 centimeters in a rectangular way like a straw hut and erect pillars.

The top is also laid layer by layer with tied straw curtains after the shelves are erected, the difference is that a roof of nearly one meter is specially made.

The structure of the main body is similar to that of the grass shed, the bigger difference is on the side, the grass shed is all open around the house, and the walls of the house built now will be made of evenly sized branches, and at the end a layer of wet mud will be smeared to make it impermeable to light and wind.

In addition to increasing the sense of security, the purpose of this is to protect against the cold in winter, and even if there is a hint of coolness now, it is believed that it will be even colder next month.

Under the condition that you can only sleep on hay at night, if you have to experience the baptism of the cold wind every day, I believe that waking up from freezing every night is a basic operation, and colds are like a common thing!

The construction process was quite boring, and the first house was officially completed and occupied, twenty-five days after moving out of the cave.

Of course, there will be delays in searching for food and rain, and although it can be tiring, it is more reassuring to have a safer place to live......
