The sheepskin used after direct drying and cleaning is not used, not only the feel is hard and not soft, but also the wool will fall off after a period of time, and finally only a thin layer of skin remains, which will lose its effect.
Another reason is that as the temperature rises, or if the humid air causes the inside of the sheepskin to become moist again, it will stink and rot.
These are obviously not the results I want to see, so it is very important to nitrate the sheepskin, that is, to make it mature.
The process of nitrating all kinds of fur is very complex and requires all kinds of professional equipment, especially chemical materials.
All I can think of is soaking in plant ash, and of course there are other steps, but in general it is more complicated, and it is not easy to get a clean and fresh animal fur.
The treated sheepskin is soaked in water in a clay bucket for at least two or three days, after which the grease and meat are scraped again.
The next step is to soak the ashes in warm water, which will be a long time, at least more than 20 days, and will be turned once a day.
This is also the more important nitrate, anyway, it can only be done here, as for whether it can succeed can only wait until time to know.
After nitration, the almost important step is over, and it only needs to be cleaned with water and dried before it can be put into use, and the sheepskin can really be used by me at that time!
