Volume 1 Chapter 33 Sheep Hunting II

On the third day, after two days of fruitless return, I did not give up, and I had a kind of persistent spirit of "not dying if I don't reach the Yellow River"!

After breakfast and equipment, I set off again, vowing not to give up until I achieved my goal......

It's just that today's luck is not too good, and it was already noon when I found the sheep.

What makes people even more speechless is that their location is very unfavorable to me, and I can only try to get close as I did yesterday, but I was found when I got close to thirty or forty meters.

Their vigilance is already very high after two days of scare, and it can be extremely difficult to get started!

I was wondering if I should continue the sheep hunt or wait a while to give them a few days to recover and be less vigilant.

On the fourth day, I came.

Thinking that the Chinese New Year is coming soon, I really want to eat fresh mutton in these few days, and I am completely crazy about mutton.

After a few days of observation and practice, the chances of slowly approaching the flock and then catching them directly are very slim, and it can even be said that it is difficult to succeed.

On the first day, it became clear to me how desperate my speed was, and I had to be within two meters of them to be able to touch their bodies.

The probability of this itself is very small, and what is even more sad is that touching it does not mean that it can be pounced, they are very wild, as for the kind of thing that goes to the shit luck, I believe that there is almost no possibility with my own character!

In order to be able to eat mutton, I fell asleep almost early in the morning last night, and after eliminating all the ways I thought of, there was only one left, and of course there might be better ones just I didn't think of it yet.

First of all, I went to the woods and selected a slender branch with a diameter of three or four centimeters and a length of three or four meters, and it was a branch made of quite hard material, and then prepared a nylon rope about ten meters long, about the same thickness as chopsticks.

From today onwards, I am not going to take the initiative anymore, and the course of action has been changed to "wait for the sheep".

......

Of course, it is still necessary to find them before the plan begins, but after a few days of dealing with them, I have basically figured out their sphere of influence, and now it is much easier.

After more than an hour I found the sheep and spent another half an hour observing the direction in which they were moving, I climbed a tree in the direction they were heading and waited for them.

Yes, I think it's too difficult to catch sheep on the ground, and the current method is relatively less labor-intensive, but it is more of a test of luck.

I planned to hide in a tree five or six meters high, and the three or four meter long branches would be tied with a rope at one end, and the end of the rope would be tied into a large circular movable buckle and dragged to the ground.

When the flock passes under the tree, I move the movable rope on the ground by constantly anticipating its path.

If it is far away from the rope buckle, I will directly use the branch to carry the rope to the head of a certain sheep, as long as the rope is lifted up, the rope will be instantly fastened and the sheep will be tightened.

Of course, it is easy to say, but it will inevitably test my judgment of the direction in which it is going and the arrival of good fortune.

It's also very uncomfortable to sit on a branch, and I even feel like my butt is about to swell, so I should bring a small stone slab to put on the branch as a stool tomorrow, which should be more friendly to my buttocks.

Good luck did not come today, and when the sheep passed by twenty or thirty meters not far away when they were full of anticipation on the tree, they could only look at them with their eyes and could not do anything!

It's so angry! ......

On the fifth day, they played happily somewhere for a day, and I squatted in the trees for several hours and did not see them move and returned directly, but the action failed, but a few hours after returning they went to the beach to catch four or five catties of a big fish.

On the sixth day, after spending more than an hour finding the sheep, I again climbed to a branch and sat down.

My patience has been exhausted, and if it weren't for the obsession with meat, I would have really given up, and I thought that if I couldn't catch a sheep for two more days at most, I would really collapse.

And in these days, there is not much food left at home, and it is very depressing to spend such a big price and get nothing!

But the unlucky days can't last forever, hahaha, today the goddess of luck is finally blessed with me, and there is a better opportunity for me to show my skills.

......

When they were all drowsy in the trees, the long-awaited sheep finally walked slowly under the squatting trees, and at first I was worried that they would not find me hiding in the trees, but as they got closer, I dispelled this concern.

As the distance got closer, my heart became more and more unsettled, and if I couldn't catch a sheep at such a good opportunity, I might jump straight from the tree and fall to my death!

It is a pity that several sheep did not step on the rope buckle on the ground, and the chance of success was reduced by half.

I had no choice but to take the initiative and pull up the rope from the ground as soon as they walked over the tree, and hang them from their heads to hang a sheep by the neck.

It was a ram that was being targeted as soon as I approached, and its violent struggle almost pulled me straight down the tree the moment I first got it.

If it hadn't been grabbed by one hand in an instant, it would have really fallen under the tree, which shows its great strength.

But then I was really tragic, so angry that I wanted to kill it even more, and after sitting down, I began to slowly tighten, and I must not let it escape.

The rope and branches are carefully prepared, there should be no problems, as long as I don't let go, then there is no possibility of it escaping.

Its desire for life was so strong that I had to tighten my legs around the trunk of the tree while keeping the rope in my hands.

The time is not too long, it is not a big fish in the sea, and the rope in the hand is not a fishing line, with the continuous retraction of the end of the rope has been held in my hand and directly tied to the branch, if nothing else, the end is doomed!

When it saw me in the tree, it became restless and kept circling around the tree in a panic.

At this time, it did not show its previous wisdom at all, it was as stupid as a pig, and finally turned many times, and after the rope was wrapped around the trunk of the tree, it trapped itself and almost couldn't move!

......

God help me, I'm still worried that it will hit me with its horns when I go down to entangle with it, so I don't have to worry about this at all.

After making sure that the rope on the branch was tightly tied and the chain would not fall off at the last moment, I slowly descended to the ground with the equipment on my body, although it was entangled and moved to a small extent, but I still did not directly start with the fear of the horns.

This sheep should be the largest and fattest of the five, weighing nearly 100 pounds.

In order to prevent a long night's dream, I decided to solve it first, by first hitting the sheep's head with a wooden stick to make it unconscious or directly crush to death.

This is done in part so that it does not struggle, and in humanitarian terms.

I guess I can entangle with a small blade sharpened by the door buckle to kill a sheep, but the speed of the sheep that does not move is much faster!

After nearly ten heavy knocks, the sheep rolled its eyes and fell down unwillingly, and the mutton was already stable, hehehehe......

To be on the safe side, I put a rope around its neck again, and I didn't believe it was dead until two or three minutes later, when the sheep didn't move.

The scene was more bloody because I was holding a knife and pulling its belly open at the heart of it to release the blood of the sheep on its body.

As for why bloodletting, there is also a reason, and anyone who has had the experience of killing pigs and chickens knows it.

If the animal does not bleed, most of the blood will remain in the meat, and some bacteria will also remain in the meat.

The most important thing is that if you are cooking, the meat will continue to foam with blood, will you still have an appetite? So this step is very important.

Due to the lack of strength of the knife, it took me more than three minutes to release the sheep blood, and after the first step was completed, I did not take another step.

Now that it's completely dissected, the guts inside will leak out, and it will probably get on the clothes, and I don't want to get the only clothes dirty.

In order to eat the mutton as soon as possible, I quickly climbed the tree to untie the rope, and then I carried the sheep home with joy!

......

When I got home, I had some difficulty in decomposing the mutton, so I had to wash the large stone slabs that usually make pottery and use them to solve this problem, so it seems that when should I consider building stone tables and other daily decorations.

I was overjoyed by the harvest of a sheep, not only to eat the mutton that I had not seen for a long time, but also to get a sheepskin.

The size of the sheep is large, and a sheepskin is not small, although it cannot make me a coat, but at least a coat is enough, and it can also be used as a quilt.

Without the skills and experience in this area, there was a problem when I first got started, and within three minutes I cut a hole in the sheepskin, coupled with the inadequacy of the tools and the smell of the sheep, and when the sheepskin was all peeled off, it could be described as scarred.

There are at least ten holes, although they are only the size of a thumb because of the disadvantage of the knife, but they are completely unaesthetically pleasing!

The peeled sheepskin has to be treated in a variety of ways before it can be put into use, which is far from being as simple as thought.

Today's temperature is just right, lukewarm and perfect for drying, but before that, you have to clean up the meat foam on it, because you just took care of peeling it off, and there is still a lot of meat foam on it.

After the internal organs of the sheep's belly are cut out, it feels a lot lighter instantly, and it is initially estimated that there are about sixty catties left after removing the fur and internal organs, of course, after removing the four legs and the sheep's head, it will be even less, maybe only forty catties!

I don't want the internal organs of sheep intestines and sheep stomach to be processed too much, and the taste may not be too good without the participation of seasonings, so throw it away directly, and other sheep hearts and sheep livers can be used for smoking!

Next is the processing of the lamb, which is also the most exciting moment.

I used a knife to cut the meat into long strips, smeared a layer of salt, and put it in a clay pot for pickling, and the bones of the sheep were also violently broken with stones and then pickled together, and the four legs were directly put on the smoke to smoke, and finally three or four catties of meat were left for two days!

After two days of marinating, it will be smoked again, and the climate on the island seems to be only possible to preserve it for a longer time if it is made into jerky, especially the smoked meat pair is more in line with my taste.

If the lamb that I managed to get with it stinks because of storage problems, I'm going crazy!
