Chapter 357: The world is bustling, and it's all for profit.
Datang is now very powerful, and Daomen is also very powerful.
There are real people who carry water and real people who help Datang, but there are also countless Taoist believers who want to kill Xie Baoshu and not let Datang have a good time. Life in the world, that's it. The world is bustling, all for profit.
The word is in contention.
"The hustle and bustle of the world is for profit, and the hustle and bustle of the world is for profit" This is an unbreakable truth, from the primitive society to the present, there is no surpassing the word "profit". There is no major event in the world that does not arise because of profit.
Animal fights, tribal wars, national disputes, merchant rivalries, neighborhood quarrels, husband and wife rivalry, sons compete for glory, officials fight for power, people fight for profit, actors fight for fame, animals fight for food, all things win glory, .......
In everything, the initiator of the chrysalis fights for interests, fights for interests. Everything is good if it is not for profit, as long as it is related to profit, husband and wife turn against each other, father and son become enemies, friends are separated, and brothers are out of harmony. When there is no benefit, the word love is very important, and when there is benefit, all the things of love will become tasteless, and the simple and innocent feelings will stand aside.
In ancient times, there was a great sage Sima Qian who said: "The world is bustling, all for profit, and the world is bustling, all for profit." β
The sage Confucius said: "The rich and the noble are what people want, and the poor and the lowly are also evil." The common people in China say: "No one asks about the poor on the street, but the rich have distant relatives in the mountains." "Whether it is a saint or a common man, whether an intellectual or an illiterate, they all have a clear understanding of the relationship between poverty and wealth.
Why do people hate poverty? Because the poor can't satisfy their desires to the fullest. Whether it is appetite or sexual desire, whether it is vanity or love of beauty, whatever it is, it must be satisfied with money, and it must be fulfilled with money.
Of course, if you were born into the royal family, or if you have served as a high-ranking official, you probably don't need money to satisfy the above desires. Rich because of wealth, expensive because of birth, family and power. Of course, if you have money, you won't have to worry about being expensive, and after you have power, you don't seem to have to worry about running out of money. Because wealth and nobility are inextricably linked, they can be combined into one category.
It is normal for people to envy and hope to get rich and noble, which is also a legitimate desire of Confucius, which Confucius also affirmed, but Confucius said: Although it is a legitimate desire for people to hope for wealth, the wealth obtained without proper methods should not be enjoyed.
Poverty is abhorrent to all, but it is not advisable to get rid of it without proper means. Today, the teachings of the saints more than 2,000 years ago have long become common knowledge among the common people.
But in real life, people who get rid of poverty and become rich in improper ways abound, and people who get rid of poverty and get rich in improper ways but are not punished abound, although they scold those who get rid of poverty and become rich in improper ways, but as long as they have the opportunity, they will do that People abound, this is the so-called world style is declining, and people's hearts are not ancient.
In ancient times, there were many benevolent gentlemen who did not envy money and did not admire wealth and wealth.
Like Yan Hui, the chief disciple of Confucius: "A spoonful of food, a scoop of drink, in the alleys, people are unbearable, and they return."
Don't change your pleasure".
During the Three Kingdoms, the master Guan Ning, hoeed the ground to see gold, and waved the hoe regardless of it. Hua Xin, the same hoe, pick it up and look at it, and throw it on the ground, although he has a desire, but it is not easy to throw it because of face. Zhuangzi was fishing in Pushui, and the king of Chu sent two envoys to ask him to be an official, and he said to the two envoys: The state of Chu has a turtle, and after death, the king of Chu takes its armor, wraps it in brocade, and offers it under the temple.
The envoy said, of course, it is better to live and wag his tail in the muddy pond. This fable of Zhuangzi contains the wit of retreating and avoiding disaster.
Although the ancients set a moral example for us to be pure in heart and have few desires, but with little success. People chase fame and fortune, like mosquitoes and bloodthirsty, like flies chasing smell, from ancient times to the present, causing immeasurable tragedies, of course, also performed countless comedies.
In addition to giving the test of life and death and the test of love and hatred, the means often used, that is, to use wealth as a touchstone to test the characters, after the temptation of wealth is naturally a true gentleman, and those who cannot withstand the temptation of wealth will degenerate into villains, slaves, traitors or accomplices.
Human desires are a black hole of dissatisfaction, the poor have the desires of the poor, and the rich have the desires of the rich. The fisherman's wife's first desire was only to want a new wooden basin, but when she got the new wooden basin, she immediately wanted a wooden house, and with a wooden house, she wanted to be a noblewoman, and she wanted to be a noblewoman, and she wanted to be an empress, and she wanted to be an overlord of the sea, and let the goldfish that could satisfy her desires be her slave, and this crossed the line, like blowing a soap bubble, blowing too big, and it would inevitably burst.
There is always a limit to everything, and once it is excessive, it will be punished, which is a simple philosophy of life and the law of many things in nature. Many exhortatory stories circulated among the people are a reminder to restrain one's desires.
It is said that in order to catch monkeys, Indians made a kind of wooden cage in which food was placed. The monkey reaches in and grabs the food, but the hand cannot take it out. In order to get out of the way, you have to put down the food, but the monkey will never let go of the food. Monkeys don't have the wisdom to "let go". Do people have the wisdom to "let go"? Some people have it, some people don't. Some people sometimes have, some people sometimes don't.
Some people can resist the temptation of money but may not be able to resist the temptation of beauty, some people can resist the temptation of money and beauty, but may not be able to resist the temptation of power, people will always have something that they are reluctant to let go, this is the weakness of people, and it is also the richness of people.
In Chinese philosophy, in fact, there has always been no shortage of such rationality and wisdom, but people always "forget to withdraw their hands behind them, and there is no way to turn back." "Greed is human nature, or rather the dark side of human nature.
Relying on moral exhortation and literary preaching can make people more sober, but it cannot solve the problem fundamentally. Therefore, Buddhism uses the phrase "everything is empty, everything is nothing" to try to curb people's greed, because greed is the root of all evil and the root of all kinds of suffering in life.
As a result, there is a good song: Everyone in the world knows that the gods are good, but they can't forget their fame! Where will the ancient and the modern meet?
The grass is gone! Everyone in the world knows that the gods are good, but only the gold and silver can't forget! In the end, they only hate to gather much, and when they reach a long time, their eyes are closed! Everyone in the world knows that the gods are good, but only the wife can't forget them! The gentleman says kindness on his birthday, and the king dies and goes with the people! The world knows that the gods are good, but only the children and grandchildren can't forget it! The infatuated parents have been many in ancient times, and who has seen the filial piety of their children and grandchildren?
The most direct and effective means to control human greed is the law, which is like a cage and desire is like a beast.
What human society has done for thousands of years is the struggle between law, religion, morality, and literature against human greed. Although there have been incidents of fierce beasts breaking out of their cages and injuring people from time to time, a relative balance has been basically maintained. Friendly relations between people can only be realized by restraining desires, and peaceful relations between countries can only be realized by restraining desires.
If a person's desires get out of control, it can lead to murder, and if a country's desires get out of control, it will lead to war. It can be seen that it is more important for the state to control its own desires than for everyone to control their own desires.
In human society, in addition to the temptation of money, fame, and power, the other biggest and fatal temptation is the temptation of beauty. This problem may seem unrelated to women, but it is. In history, there have been wars over a beautiful woman, and some rulers have lost their country because of beautiful women.
It is of course wrong to absolutely deny lust, because without it, human society cannot continue. The rulers of the Chinese dynasties basically had a negative attitude towards people's sexual desires, but most of them were duplicitous, although there were groups of wives and concubines in the deep palace, but the people wanted to save heavenly principles to destroy human desires, and the love between men and women was regarded as a flood beast. Such a concept is embodied in the laws and morals of the feudal dynasty.
Taoism believes that human desires are the root cause of evil and calamity, and that desires must be suppressed in both governance and personal cultivation. The Tao Te Ching talks about lust in many places, and they all refer to selfish desires and greed.
Chapter 46 has the famous sentence "There is no greater misfortune than discontentment, and there is no greater blame than desire", and "less selfishness and few desires" is one of the main moral norms. For the king who rules the world, "I have no desire, but the people are simple." In the "Nanhua Zhenjing: Heaven and Earth", it is said that "the ancient animals in the world have no desire and the world is full", which is also the meaning.
Early Taoism inherited and evolved the Taoist concept of lack of desire, "Lao Tzu Xianger Note" said, "Tao is often desireless, happy and quiet", "the king should also be the law", which can "make heaven and earth always right." At the same time, for the worldly people, it should also be "the Tao says that it is selfless and less desired." β
The Sutra of Tranquility regards tranquility as the attainment of enlightenment into the "true path", and desire is the opposite of tranquility. The "Qingjing Sutra" says: "You can often send their desires and calm their hearts, and clear their hearts and clear their minds." "Associate the elimination of desires with the purity of the heart. The desire here refers to the six desires. The six desires are the six roots, and the six roots are Buddhist concepts that refer to "eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind." β
Hou Shanyuan's description of the state of "six desires are not born" is: "The eyes are colorless, and the gods are not evil." There is no sound in the ears, and there is no sound in the ears. Snort and rush,
Don't let it smell. The tongue meal is tasteless, sweet and sour. There is no appearance, and there is no leakage. Be naΓ―ve, not confused. To achieve this state, "people with the Tao often use the Tao to control their desires, not to control the Tao with their desires." Controlling desire with the Tao, so the heart is pure, so the heart is quiet. β
Taoism believes that the Tao contains two opposing aspects, such as clear and turbid, static and moving, in which pure and quiet is the essence and turbidity is the flow. Because clarity is the root of turbidity, and stillness is the basis of movement. Therefore, whether it is governing the country or governing the body, it is necessary to be quiet. If the learner can be quiet, he will live with heaven and earth.
From the Wei and Jin dynasties to the Tang Dynasty, tranquility has always been an important part of Taoist learning and monasticism. Ge Hong's "Hug Puzi Inner Chapter" said: "The immortal law wants to be quiet and do nothing, and forget its form." Take "silence" as the basic requirement of the method of learning immortals.
The ultimate goal of Taoist cultivation is to become immortals, and everything it advocates is directed towards this. To become an immortal, you must first become unhuman, that is, become pure-hearted and have few desires. Desire is not only a natural attribute of human beings, as long as they are sentient beings, they will have desire
Desire, in a broad sense, is a motivation that drives you to live your life like a normal person, and desire can be seen as a "program" that keeps the human world functioning normally.
Throughout all aspects of human life, people are driven by desires: they want to eat well, they want to be better, they want to talk about feelings, they want to do all kinds of things that satisfy their sensory and psychological needs. All behaviors and emotions are consuming essence, mind, and energy, and when the innate vitality is used up, the person dies.
How to live forever? Open source and reduce expenditure. Open source is to form an energy cycle with the big universe through cultivation and other methods, and keep the physical body alive, ordinary people can only get energy through eating and sleeping, and cultivators can recharge themselves through various methods, such as picking the sun and the moon, although I never use this, but it seems to be very popular.
Throttling is the pure heart and few desires that the subject asks, and it also includes the reduction of conscious and unconscious thinking. To fundamentally reduce energy loss, at least to achieve a state of balance in and out to keep the physical state from declining, do not underestimate the effect of clear heart and desire throttling.
If you don't get rid of this problem, you'll never reach the level. For men to come to the place, they must be psychologically pure-hearted and have few desires, and physiologically they must break off the white tiger. The two aspects of psychology and physiology progress together and complement each other and influence each other. Physiologically, there is no leakage, and sexual energy has a circulating path, which naturally makes oneself pure and has few desires. Psychologically, the heart is pure and has few desires, and it is not easy to have crooked thoughts physically.
The true way of normality, the enlightened self-satisfied, the enlightened one, always quiet.
First of all, we must know that lack of desire is not desireless, but less desire. Chapter 46 of the Tao Te Ching says: "There is no greater sin than desire, no greater misfortune than discontentment, and no greater guilt than desire." Therefore, contentment is sufficient. β
Lao Tzu taught people to be content and happy, and also subtly told people that desire is endless, as long as they can basically meet the needs of survival and life, don't pursue pleasure too much, and even cut off thoughts and actions that do not conform to all natural laws, and stop in moderation, and not indulge unrestrained desires in order to achieve their own desires, which is easy to lose life.
Such as the seven emotions of people
If the six desires are not controlled, they can corrupt people's temperament and hinder people's health and longevity. The reason for this is because human energy is limited, while human desire is unlimited. If you don't control your desires, don't maintain your vitality, panic excessively, and damage your vitality, people will face early death and will not be able to enjoy their old age.
The ancients said that "if the gods are used greatly, they will be exhausted, and if they work hard, they will die", that is to say, if they do not know how to take care of their body and mind, and only know how to consume the nutrients in the body, people's spirit and spirit will be exhausted and die. Therefore, the sages taught people to purify their hearts and desires, to nourish their energy, to nourish their gods, to work and rest in moderation, so as to maintain their health both physically and mentally.
Lack of desire is the long-term solution. Taoism's pure heart and few desires are often interpreted as breaking off love and despairing, in fact, few desires are the common method of cultivating the heart of Confucianism and Taoism, Mencius once said that "raising the heart is not good at few desires".
People have few desires, they are quiet, their hearts are peaceful, and there will be a lot less anxiety and depression, which will not affect everyone's pursuit of dreams, because the secret of few desires lies in "having a master and being empty", which is what Zhuge Liang said, "non-indifferent and unambitious, non-tranquil and far-reaching".
Happiness is both a long-term solution and a short-term solution for those who are too stressed, and if the reader is very stressed, he should be happy before he or she has a low desire.
Of course, for some people who are brainwashed by the suffering of life and the cultivation of suffering, they may not be able to accept happiness and disasters, but this is the most authentic Taoist thinking. It can be traced back to the "Tao Te Ching" in which the weak defeat the strong, the soft victory over the strong, and the mourning soldiers must win and so on, and it takes an optimistic attitude to come up with the truth, and its flowering and fruition are in the "Taiping Sutra" in the late Eastern Han Dynasty.
Among them, it is said that "vitality and happiness are born in Dachang, natural happiness is strong, heavenly happiness is three brightness, earth music is constant, five elements of music are not hurt, four seasons of happiness is born of kings, the king is happy to be free of disease, the oyster is not harmful, all things are happy, and people are not easy to worry." β
This passage is obviously a parody of the Tao Te Ching: "The sky has to be clear, the earth has to be peaceful, the gods have to be spiritual, the valley has to be profitable, all things have to be born, and the prince has to be right." β
In this Taoist practice, Deyi and Dele are seen as very similar beings. In the Taoist internal refining and self-cultivation classics of later generations, Lile is also a manifestation of people's progress.
Another important part of believing in the Tao is the belief that people can live forever and become immortals. Taoism believes that the Tao has eternal life, and that if you obtain it and keep it, you can live forever, which is also called "virtue". Virtue is obtained, that is, the Tao. Taoism is reborn, the pursuit of immortality, the belief that people can attain the Tao through praying to God or cultivating, not only can enjoy the happiness of the world, but also can return to the roots, be the same body with the Tao, the body is immortal, fly to the sky in the daytime, and survive in the fairy world.
The gods and goddesses believed in Taoism are up to the three Qings, the four royals, down to the city god, the stove king, the wind and rain, thunder and lightning, the mountains and rivers have gods. The most fundamental doctrines of Taoism are "Tao" and "Virtue". "Dao" is the only theoretical basis in Taoism, and it is a kind of "Dao" that is based on "tranquility as the sect, emptiness as the body, and weakness as the use". This "Tao" is the most fundamental belief of Taoism.
Xie Baoshu somewhat understood
This is the difference between Buddhism and Taoism.
Taoism, rather persuade ten people to return to the world, not to persuade one to become a monk, Buddhism, you don't want to come in, always let you in, it itself has a sentence "Amitabha" is also very easy to read, right.
But Taoism is that you have to go with the flow, that is, as long as you are filial piety at home, as long as you do good deeds in society, do good deeds, and be able to cultivate sexuality, you can be similar to a monk, so Taoism is different from Buddhism, because Buddhism, as long as you believe in Buddhism, you can do it, you can come in, you can do it.
The first thing about Taoism is to make up your mind, because it is the road of Taoism, it is said that the road of cultivation is relatively narrow, you are in practice, you are a foot wide road, and when you come up to the temple, it is a foot wide road, so this road is very narrow, and the requirements are very high.
