Chapter 455: Confession (Rui Wen's Extra Chapter)

He pounded on Riven's handcuffs and leg irons. Rui Wen didn't push him away and let him go home, although she strongly asked her to stop the old man, but her selfishness made her ruthless. If the old man is the last person to accompany her in this life, then Rui Wen hopes that this moment can be extended as much as possible. She sat in silence until a few minutes later she heard footsteps on the gravel path outside the hall. Riven looked at Asa. He was laughing, holding the untied shackles and dangling them in front of her, like a child showing off his toys.

"Daddy. Fast. Hide. Someone's coming. Ruiwen's voice was rapid and sharp, and there was no way to refuse. The old man quickly hid in the shadows in the corner. Riven lowered her head back and took a sleeping position. She covered her hair in front of her and kept her eyes open.

A strong gust of wind blew through the trees, bypassing the doorposts of the hall. Against the backdrop of a beam of moonlight, a figure stood in the doorway.

The stranger no longer covered his face with his cloak, and his sword and metal shoulder guards were all illuminated. He paused at the door, like everyone else. But unlike the villagers, he walked in. He didn't leave any footsteps on the stone floor. When he was the length of Ruiwen's sword, he stopped.

He pulled out a leather scabbard from his back, with crude runes carved into it. He threw the scabbard at Rivan's feet with a thud.

"Which one is heavier, Riven?" He asked. "Is it your sword, or is it your past?"

Apparently the stranger knew that Riven was not asleep, so Riven stopped pretending. She looked up at him, his face blurred in the gray shadows, but the scar on his nose was clearly visible.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Another broken sword." He replied. "You are ready to confess your sins. I admire you for that. ”

Riven saw a brief expression of emotion appear on his face.

"There's something behind your sword," he continued. "Do you know the truth?"

"I killed him. He died because of me. All of them ...... I did it," Riven continued. She didn't know if she would be able to bear more grief.

"Raise your sword."

Riven sat still. She heard the man growl in exasperation.

"Stand up, there's no escape," the man said. His voice could not be denied.

The whirlwind began to swirl through the hall, pushing away the benches and pushing Riven to her feet. Fighting instincts and muscle memory guide Riven's arms. When she faced the stranger, the sheathed greatsword was already in her hand.

"I begged him to break it." She said.

"Really?" The man's voice was mocking.

The stranger's suspicion stung her and penetrated into the marrow of the memory. She shuddered, vaguely remembering the sight. Elder Soma's voice was quiet and peaceful. The atmosphere in his meditation room was solemn, with the weight of thought and incense. Elder Suma did not judge her, nor did he judge her burden.

Rui Wen looked at the stranger in front of her, and a sharp pain welled up in her heart, flowing through her whole body, until her hands holding the sword. She gripped the hilt tightly and drew the runic blade from its scabbard.

"Why are you here?" Rui Wen asked.

The shattered blade carries a rough energy. The dazzling light casts dappled shadows on the walls.

"I know you're hell-bent on death." The stranger said with a smile.

The ghosts that had been haunting her were now pouring out, and Riven slashed wildly at them. The man's blade blocked out her sorrow and rage. This made her even angrier and pulled her back to the present. The two began a sword dance. Every block and thrust is accompanied by a roar and burst of air.

"I'm here to kill my master's murderer." He gritted his teeth and gasped. "I'm here to take your life."

Rui Wen laughed, tears in her eyes. "Let's do it."

The Tempest Samurai lowered their swords and began to manipulate the whirlwind around them. The magic sounded fiery, and the man focused his energy on the runic greatsword. The Noxian magic on the weapon began to tremble, and the shattered blade was scattered in an instant, and the small fragment at the top was also free.

The energy collapsed, and the small fragment burst out and flew in the direction of Asa's hiding in the shadows. The projectile of death was about to be shot into the throat of the old man. Rui Wen once again smelled the spicy memory of the burning scent, which was Elder Soma's meditation room.

"No!" She shouted. Rui Wen threw down the blade and was helpless in the face of a repeating tragedy.

Just as the blade was about to pierce the old man's weather-beaten skin, it stopped, bound in the air by a wall of wind. The man with the scar on his nose breathed a sigh of relief, and the small piece of iron on Riven's shattered blade fell straight to the stone floor.

"You're lucky, your breath is heavy enough, Master Comte." The stranger spoke quickly between quick gasps.

Rui Wen ran to the old man and hugged him. She turned her head to look at the stranger. The wind still whipped at his hair, and he wiped a few beads of sweat from the back of his swordless hand.

"You're not lying." The stranger also walked over and picked up the fragments of the blade. Riven saw part of his anger turn into understanding. "You killed Elder Soma, but you're not the murderer."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The moment Riven had been looking for, she came back to life again. A barrage of choked words blurted out. She trembled and held the old man.

"I found him. I begged him to ......" Riven tried to bite out every word, but she was overwhelmed by her excitement. "I begged him to help me. Smash this. Break me. ”

"Elder Soma did try to destroy your sword," Scarface said. His voice also became choked. "But, Ruiwen, the past has been forged, and we can't change it."

Riven knows that feeling, facing memories that are gone and lingering. Now she sees that this stranger is also carrying his own ghost. He sighed, and the whirlwind around him gradually subsided.

Riven opened her eyes.

"Daddy," she said. "What are you doing here?"

The old man slowly slipped over to her and opened a soft cloth bag, which was full of tools. Riven recognized it as a metal appliance used to install and repair the ploughshare.

"What do you think I'm doing, kid?" The moonlight outlined the furrows on his face, but the dark atmosphere around the two of them didn't seem to infect the old man as Riven had imagined.

"You're hell-bent on dying," he told her reproachfully. "You can't get an balance like that."

"It is my responsibility to protect Elder Soma. If I had been there...... On that night...... I could have protected him. It wasn't your intention to kill him. Rui Wen looked at him, and the samurai who understood the true meaning felt sorry for him, and the man once again carried his inner demon on his shoulder. The two looked at each other. "At the end of the day, his death was my fault."

"Yasuo?" The old man came closer, then stretched out a crooked finger. "It's a great honor for you to admit your mistakes."

"My glory is long gone, Daddy," Riven saw the same resistance in Yasuo, resisting hope and forgiveness. He shook his unkempt head and did not accept the old man's defense. "One wrong step, one wrong step. That's the punishment for me. ”

His self-judgment was interrupted by footsteps on the gravel road. The hook-nosed woman entered the council chamber. She walked carefully around the hall, examining the scars left by the fight between the two broken samurai. Every step of her was accompanied by the sound of metal crashing. The Pusher slows down as he passes by Rui Wen and the old man. Riven saw a leather buckle with her shackled keys hanging from it. When the magistrate walked up to the stranger, he stopped.

"Taking responsibility is the first step in atonement, Yasuo." She said in a calm tone.

"What about the second step?" Yasuo's words were tinged with despair.

Yasuo didn't hide from the Pusher's gaze. The room froze and stopped breathing.
