Ionia has always been a place of wild magic, where all kinds of humans and powerful spirits strive to live in harmony, but sometimes this peaceful balance is not easy to achieve. Sometimes balance needs to be maintained.

The Order of Equilibrium is a group whose mission is to preserve the sacred balance of Ionia. The believers of the sect walk between the spiritual and the material worlds.

Coordinate conflicts between the two realms, and if necessary, use coercive force to intervene. Akali was born to be one of them.

Her mother, Ume Yomanthi, is in the position of Shadow Fists, and she and her partner Tano decide to let their daughter grow up in the Balanced Sect from an early age, under the guidance of the Sect's grandmaster, Master Twilight's Eye Bitterspeaker.

Whenever Akali's parents were sent out, other members of the sect would act as Akali's surrogate parents, and Berserk Heart Kenan spent much of the time with the little girl, teaching her shuriken techniques.

Akali fled to the east in the mountains and forests, along with Ume, Shin, Kenan, and several other believers. Sadly, Tano is not one of them.

The Tribulation has almost turned the Equilibrium Sect into a ruthless shadow stream. But Shen, the new Twilight Eye, wants to rebuild what was gone.

They want to return to the three basic ideas of equilibrium: to look for pure justice by stargazing, to execute righteous judgments day by day, and to eradicate all imbalance through pruning. Although they are weak, they will train new believers, restore and revitalize their denomination once again.

When Akali reached the age of fourteen, she began training in the Sect of Equilibrium, determined to succeed her mother as the new Shadow Fist.

Akali is a martial arts wizard who is proficient in the hook and kunai, also known as the one-handed scythe and throwing knives. Although she did not possess magical abilities like other believers, she proved herself worthy of the title, and it was not long before her mother was able to step back and serve as a mentor to the younger generation of believers.

But she saw her hometown continue to suffer. She questioned whether their denomination was actually doing its job. The so-called pruning should eradicate all those who threaten the divine balance, but prudence always urges restraint.

He was always restricting her. All those chants and meditations would bring peace to her soul, but these clichés would not defeat their enemies.

Her hot-blooded impulses and advanced maturity turned into undisguised rebellion. She argues loudly with Shin, she openly rebels against him, and she solves Ionian's enemies in her own way.

In front of the entire sect, she openly declared that the Equilibrium sect was incompetent, and that all preaching about mental balance and patience was fruitless.

The Ionians are dying in the physical realm, so this is also the realm that Akali wants to protect. She was trained as an Assassin, so she had to do what an Assassin should do. She no longer needed the sect.

Shen didn't hold back or stop it, he knew that the path had to be taken by Akali herself. Maybe one day she will walk back down that path, but that will be up to her.

Beneath the veil of Ionian harmony lies those who have been left behind. For Zai, his story begins with the little boy who sits on the cold stone steps of his house, whose home is a Balanced Sect.

The Sect of Equilibrium's Grandmaster Kushu personally took him in, and he found his place within the ancient temple walls. He tried his best to comprehend the spiritual teachings of Balance, and soon surpassed his peers in both fighting and studying.

Even so, he still felt that he could only bow down to the son of the Lower Wind Sect Master in front of another person, Shen. Although he pursues perfection in every skill and exudes great enthusiasm, he lacks the emotional balance of Shen. Despite their differences, the two apprentices are still brothers.

Later, they go on a long journey with their master to track down the infamous "Golden Devil". When they finally succeed in capturing this talkative "monster", they discover that he is nothing more than an ordinary person named Kadaash. The young Zai stepped forward and raised his blade in both hands, but the Kushu Master stopped him and ordered them to take Ember to prison.

After returning to the temple, dissatisfaction began to bloom in Zai's heart, and he began to be unable to study. The horrific murder scene created by Ember haunted his mind repeatedly.

At the same time, the growing tensions between the Ionian and Noxian forces accelerated his disillusionment.

At that time, Shen had already begun to learn his father's indifference and selflessness, but Zai refused to let the noble idea of balance hinder him from punishing adultery and eliminating evil.

He went deep into the hidden tombs of the temple, where he found an elaborate black box. Although he knew that this was a taboo violation, and only the sect's grandmaster could open the black box, he still peeked inside the black box.

The dark shadow enveloped Zai's mind, instilling in him contempt for the weak, fueling the anguish in his heart, and hinting at an ancient dark magic.

All of them will fall into a brutal shadow killing array, even the native Vastaya who has wavered in their alliances. He inspires his followers to abandon their fears and go to war, but he soon realizes that the growth of his abilities will never keep up with the expansion of his ambitions unless he gets his hands on the black box.

He gathered all the new believers, returned to the temple of the Equilibrium Sect, and said bitterly to go out to greet him. The elder placed his weapon at the feet of the Raider, begging his former apprentice to abandon the Shadows and return to the path of balance.

After a while, the robbery reappeared on the stone steps in front of the temple. One hand holds the black box, and the other hand is a freshly stained blade of the sword.

The Balance Cultists were stunned and overwhelmed, panicked like a herd of beasts, and were slaughtered wantonly by their robbed men. He then took over the temple and established his own shadow stream there, where he began to train his followers in the way of the Dark Shadow.

They carved dark tattoos into their flesh and skin, and learned how to fight together with their reflections.

He encounters the Noxian child soldier Cain, wielding nothing but a farm scythe. Seeing that the boy was a weapon to be slashed, he took him as a disciple.

Although he did not reconcile with the remnants of the Sect of Shen and Balance, after the war, a fragile truce was reached between the Sect of Balance scattered across the provinces and the Shadow Stream. He knew that what he had done had long been overwhelmed.
