Chapter 247: Shadow Forest
In the Valoran Continent, more and more magicians are delving into their unique magic skills, especially in the attainment of magic elements, which have long been not limited to simple elemental magic such as water and fire, but some more bizarre, more dangerous, and powerful magic elements.
At the southern end of the Great Barrier, there is a place where an indescribable number of creatures live, and at the same time, it has also given birth to many elemental magical powers that are difficult to see from the outside world.
In the past, Noxus's continuous conquest required a lot of combat power, so many troops were sent to forcibly order some wild magicians to join the war in honor of Noxus' will.
Many magicians had to bow down to their subordinates because of their strength, and they fought against their will again and again, but the good times did not last long, and there were still some of these magicians who were difficult to command.
They couldn't stand being instructed by force at will by Noxus, but it was never wise to take on the vast and ancient nation of Noxus with the only magician power they had left.
But if you can't afford to provoke you, you can still hide, so many outstanding magician leaders have led the magicians who can't bear the infestation of Noxus to move to seclusion off the beaten track.
Anne's parents are two of the illustrious magicians who lead some of the magicians to the south of the Great Barrier.
The last years of Bron Darkwell's reign were a time of unprecedented turmoil in Noxus. Many people with magical abilities left the capital.
Make your home in a relatively peaceful remote province. Gregory and his wife, the witch Amorien, decided that instead of getting involved in a conspiracy between the nobles for power, they should go to the frontiers of the empire and let the power of Noxus be revealed.
The young couple settled on the northern side of the Iron Thorn Mountains. Before their first child was born, they built a hut before winter came.
During their travels, the couple heard from the colonists that the land was once inhabited by giant shadow bears. Amoline, who was nine months pregnant at the time, was fascinated by the story.
She sat by the fireplace and sewed a toy in the shape of her imagination that the creature was said to protect the weak. Just as she had sewed the last button eye on the teddy bear, the labor pains began.
Gregory later realized that it was because their daughter was impatient with the new toy. So, by the ember hearth, Amorien gave birth to Anne.
When Anne was still a toddler, one day she and her father both fell ill. After dark, Anne began to have a fever, and soon became so hot that even her mother could not hold her in her arms.
Amoline was at a loss and finally decided to go to the nearby river to get some cold water. The next morning, Gregory wakes up top-heavy and crumbling, only to find a healthy Anne playing with Thiebs the teddy bear. But Amorim was gone.
Anne naively believed that her mother would always come back. So Gregory would often see the little girl sitting in Amorim's armchair by the fireplace, with Tibbs in her arms, her eyes staring at the crackling fire.
However, Gregory was quite sure that there was nothing but cold ashes in the hearth. He chalked it all down to the illusion of the burden of raising his daughter alone.
As time went by, more and more colonists came here. Gregory also met Liana because of this. With her daughter Daisy, she wants to start a new life outside the capital.
Anne would love to have a new partner, but because she had been the only child in the family for many years, it was difficult for her to integrate into the new family for a while.
Whenever Anne was angry, Liana would nervously take her daughter to the side. Gregory struggles to maintain the peace between the mother and daughter.
Young Daisy is unwary of the dangers of the wilderness, and the child's play eventually becomes a great tragedy for the family.
Liana rightfully blames Anne for Daisy's death, pouring out her anger and grief on Timbers, Anne's most precious toy.
When Anne saw that the only memory she had left of her mother was about to be destroyed, her fear turned to a raging rage, unleashing a powerful flame. The teddy bear came to life surrounded by a vortex of flames.
When the flames were extinguished and the smoke cleared, only Anne was left alone in the mess. Anne was afraid that the adults in the city would be like her stepmother, so she stayed on the borders of the Empire.
Sometimes, some families would take her in for a while because of her simple and lovely appearance, giving her some new clothes and hot meals. But if anyone dares to take Tiebs away from her, fire and death await them.
Under Tibbs's protection, Anne roams the dark forests of Noxus, unaware of any danger and unaware of the dangers her unfathomable powers pose to others.
She hopes that one day she will be able to find a playmate similar to herself.
Shortly before the Alliance was formed, there were people in the evil city-state of Noxus who disagreed with what the Noxian High Command had done.
The Noxus High Command has just suppressed a coup d'état by Riscalio, the self-proclaimed crown prince. They are preparing to crack down on any action or organization that disagrees with the new government.
This group of political and social exiles, known as the Grey Order, try to leave their neighbors quietly because they are in pursuit of dark occult knowledge.
The leaders of this group are a husband and wife: Mystic Warlock Gregory and Hasta, and his wife, Shadow Witch Amoline.
They took a group of magicians and other intellectuals from the continent of Valoran. They crossed the grand barrier and resettled in the northern part of the forbidden land of voodoo. Although survival is often challenging, they have surpassed their predecessors and managed to survive here.
A few years later, Gregory and Amorien had a daughter, named Anne. From an early age, Anne's parents knew that Anne was special.
At the age of two, Anne magically tamed a ferocious shadow bear from a tree fossil forest and turned it into her pet.
To this day, she has "Teddy" with her. Anne usually turns it into a teddy bear, just like a regular child's doll. The blood that flows through her body and the magic of darkness give Anne an amazing occult energy.
The people of the League consider the girl to be one of the most popular heroes, even the inhabitants of the city-state who want to expel her parents.
Anne is perhaps one of the most powerful heroes on the battlefield of justice, and shuddered at the thought of her abilities when she grows up.
