Section 7 Tranquility is the only way to stop breathing
To have a peaceful heart is to have a treasure of wisdom. The reason why impetuous troubles arise is that our minds are too unsettled, we lack concentration, we lack a sense of tranquility.
Each of us has experienced that when we are anxious to find something at home, we can't always find it, and the more we can't find it, the more urgent we are, and the more urgent it is, the harder it is to find it. However, when we calm down and think about it, we immediately find out where the object is hidden, and we can easily find it.
A wealthy farmer was inspecting the barn when he accidentally lost an expensive watch in the barn. When he couldn't find anything in the barn, he made a bounty for the farm kids to help him in the barn, promising him $50 if anyone could find the watch.
The children searched around with great encouragement, but the barn was full of piles of grains and scattered large quantities of straw, and it was a needle in a haystack to find a small watch.
The children were busy until the sun went down and still found nothing, and one by one they gave up the temptation of $50 and went home for dinner.
Only a poor child, after the others had left, still tried to find the watch, hoping to find it before dark, in exchange for the huge bounty.
The barn slowly became dark, and the child, though frightened, still unwilling to give up, kept groping with his hands, and suddenly he noticed a strange voice.
The sound of "ticking, ticking" kept ringing, and the child suddenly stopped all movements, and the barn became quieter, and the "ticking" sound was very clear. The child followed the sound and finally found the precious watch in the huge dark barn.
If one's heart is not disturbed by complex external distractions and is calmed down, one can get everything one wants.
Once a person loses his tranquility, he will lose the splendor of life. It's a girl, and she won't shine anymore; If it's a boy, it's a hateful face. If there is a lack of tranquility in life, and life is lived with frustration, helplessness, doubt, fear, and worry, then life is undoubtedly a punishment for life. If one learns to settle one's mind and achieve inner peace and tranquility, then our life will be beautiful.
In the face of the complex world, over time, even we ourselves will be confused, not knowing what these are and what we want. A lot of people are in non-stop pursuit, they are chasing more wealth, more friends, better houses, better cars, even more women, more enjoyment, etc. We will often be moved by it, even distracted, disturbed by external stimuli, and even restless. In the process of our pursuit, troubles, depression, remorse, low self-esteem, frustration, frustration, anger, hatred, and stress also follow.
For many Hongchen men and women, they are always restless and can never get a moment of peace.
One king issued a notice that if a painter could paint the most representative of calm and peace, he would receive a large bounty.
As soon as the proclamation was issued, many works were sent to the king, including the forest at dusk, the tranquil river, the roses stained with dew, and the rainbow hanging high in the sky...... Only two entries were finalists.
The first works are: a calm lake, reflecting the surrounding mountains; Blue sky and white clouds, in the corner to the left of the lake there is a hut with a window open and smoke rising from the chimney. It's not hard to imagine where someone is preparing dinner.
The second work: Painting a strange rock. Sharp and lonely peaks, the sky is dark, lightning is crisscrossing, and there is a scene of torrential rain and wind. But if you look closely, you can see a nest of birds in the crevices of the steep rocks. Despite the storm in the heavens and the earth, the birds slept quietly in their nests.
The king awarded the prize to the author of the second painting. His explanation: Tranquility and tranquility are not found in places without noise, pollution, or people; It is a feeling, and there is only one true meaning of tranquility – to maintain a clear mind even in a restless society.
In the complex, competitive and fierce modern society, many people feel that their fate is like a fallen leaf in the wind, and they are at a loss by the hurricane of society. The hustle and bustle of the world is impetuous, impregnated with confused and fragile hearts. People strive for wealth, but when they are truly rich, they face a new kind of poverty: "So poor that all that is left is money!" "Many people do not taste happiness from increased wealth, but wealth becomes an unbearable burden.
The following is the story of a rich man, so that the world knows the Taoist monument of "peace of mind is happiness".
In ancient times, there was a rich man with a family of ten thousand gold, a thousand mansions, and a group of wives and concubines. Suddenly, one day, the rich man got a strange illness and sought medical advice, but he could not be cured. Seeing that his life was in danger, he had to invite a Zen master to pray for him. As soon as the Zen master entered the house, he turned around and left. The family was desperate in the back, and the Zen master said, "Your master is terminally ill and there is no cure, so you don't have to chase me anymore." ”
The family member asked puzzledly: "My old man has only been sick for a few days, why is he terminally ill?" The Zen master said, "Your master has been sick for many years, but you don't know it." The family asked, "How did you get this disease?" The Zen master said, "Sleep in the open all year round and feel the wind and cold." While walking back, the family wondered: "My lord has countless mountains of gold and silver, how can he feel the wind and cold because of sleeping in the open?" It seems that this is nothing more than the madness of a madman. ”
The family told the rich man the words of the Zen master. After hearing this, the rich man suddenly had a feeling, and sighed and said: "He is not saying crazy things, he is saying that even though I have thousands of mansions, my heart has never been peaceful, and my heart does not have a good home like a street sleeper." ”
Even if a person has billions of family fortunes, if he does not understand the way of peace of mind, he is not really rich. Having a pure heart is the source of happiness. We are swayed by complicated interpersonal relationships all day long, troubled by things outside our bodies, and stimulated by fame and fortune, how can our hearts be purified? Naturally, troubles do not leave us at all times.
Only by wiping away the impetuosity from the depths of the soul, or letting the impetuosity hide in the face of calm, can we find happiness and joy.
People need to cultivate a calm spirit, so that all other evil spirits can be eliminated. In fact, no matter how windy it is, as long as your heart is calm, you can be quiet, and you will not be disturbed by the outside world.
