(49) Lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis

Lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis is called muscle paralysis and skin paralysis in traditional Chinese medicine. The main manifestation is paresthesia in the lateral thighs. The disease is more common in middle-aged men and is often caused by trauma and compression.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by local pressure, unfavorable meridian qi, poor operation, or stagnation of qi and blood. Some patients have a history of trauma and a history of lying wet for a long time, paresthesias (burning, numbness, itching, or pinprick pain) in the lateral thighs, which worsen after standing for a long time or walking for a long time, and decreased or absent pain and tactile sensation in the lateral femoral area.

(1) The patient is placed in a supine position and a pillow is placed under the knee joint on the affected side. The surgeon rubs the thumb on the outside of the patient's affected thigh or the painful area, and repeats the operation from top to bottom for 3~5 minutes, and the technique should be gentle, gentle and long-lasting, as shown in this figure (1).

(2) The surgeon uses multi-finger kneading method to perform the operation on the affected limb A Shi acupoint, Fengshi, Xuehai, and Futu for 3~5 minutes, see this figure (2).

(3) After the above method is completed, the surgeon can use the palm rubbing method to perform the operation on the outer thigh of the affected limb, and the local skin is warm. The force should not be too strong or too heavy, so as not to rub the skin, see Figure (3).

(4) For patients with severe numbness, the surgeon can use the tip of the right finger to perform local finger percussion treatment for 3~5 minutes, see Figure (4).

2. Precautions

(1) Pay attention to strengthening warmth to ensure adequate rest and regular life.

(2) Try to avoid being in a humid environment for a long time, and strengthen the drying of residence and clothing.

(3) The diet should be light and less spicy and stimulating food. If there is an underlying disorder, the primary disorder must be treated aggressively.

(4) Pay attention to waist health care, as well as active diagnosis and treatment of other diseases of the lower limbs.
