(12) Pediatric torticollis
Pediatric torticollis, commonly known as "crooked neck", is mostly caused by congenital developmental abnormalities and loss in the production process, as well as incorrect posture, bad habits and improper care after birth. Clinically, it is divided into 4 types: muscular, bony, neurological and habitual. It is manifested by a crooked head and neck to the affected side and a face to the unaffected side. In severe cases, facial muscle atrophy and strabismus may occur.

(1) The child is in a supine position, the surgeon is located on the top of the child's head, with the thumb and fingertips of the right hand as the focus point, and on the neck of the affected side of the child, focusing on the lump, gently pressing and rubbing for 5~10 minutes, see this figure (1).
(2) The child is seated, the surgeon slightly fixes the child's head with his left hand, and gently rubs the child's neck with the thumb of his right hand and the remaining four fingers for 3~5 minutes, as shown in this figure (2).
(3) The surgeon connects the method, holds the back of the child's neck with his left hand, fixes the child's body, uses the five fingers of his right hand to slightly separate, fixes the child's head, and gently rotates the child's head and neck in the direction of the affected side for 1 minute, as shown in this figure (3).
(4) The surgeon holds the child's head with both hands and gently moves the child's head and neck left and right for 1 minute, as shown in Figure (4).
2. Precautions
(1) Pregnant women should do regular prenatal check-ups in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, especially expectant mothers with abnormal fetal position should strengthen exercise appropriately.
(2) After the baby is born, pay attention to the posture, posture and shape of the baby's head and neck, and if there is any deviation, you should go to the hospital in time to ask a doctor for a consultation.
(3) If the child is a torticollis, the functional exercise and rehabilitation of the child's head and neck should be strengthened during treatment. For example, change the direction of the baby's head and feet every week; It is not advisable to hang objects at the head of the baby's bed and on the top of the bedroom, so as not to make the baby stare for a long time.
