Chapter 346: Towering Daomen, Do Something.
On the mountains of the two realms, there is no longer a figure of the demon clan.
The most people who came to attack the city were the monsters of the three realms of the Earth Immortals, who were hanged by the lotus sword array of Monk Wen Jun. For a time, on the Great Wall, countless people exclaimed! This Taoist priest and monk had never appeared in the Two Realms Mountain before.
Now as soon as it is shot, it is shocking to the world, and it is really not simple.
In addition to the netherworld real people, there are also real people who carry water, sitting in the rear, which is reassuring. All this made the monks of the Tang Dynasty have a different view of the Daomen. Since Liu Guanshan, the Taoist monks have been more mysterious in the Tang Dynasty.
The word "cultivation" sounds a bit mysterious. When it comes to practice, it is practiced by living, sitting, and lying down.
Nowadays, most people don't understand what spiritual practice is, they just blindly follow it. I don't know what faith and practice are, but I only know how to recite a few verses of the scriptures and do a few good deeds, so I think that I can get good fortune, and there are even those who are obsessed with sitting at home all day long, thinking that they can get positive results by bowing and burning incense every day!
Sanfeng Zhenren Tiankou has a cloud: "Metaphysics takes merit as the body, Jindan as the use, and then you can become an immortal" The so-called first step of cultivation becomes to understand your own roots, how to practice, only by choosing a suitable method of cultivation, you can also enter the right path, there are three thousand, you can always choose a suitable path for yourself to practice, if you only know blindly follow the trend, I am afraid that you will not be able to get the right path in your life!
For thousands of years, Confucianism's "cultivation of Qi and peace" is a kind of practice, Taoism's "self-reliance" is a kind of practice, and the Buddha's "purification of sentient beings" is also a kind of practice. In fact, everyone is practicing, and even if they do not fall into the ranks of Buddha and Tao, they cannot escape the earnest teachings of Confucianism.
In fact, whether there is religious belief or not, practice is a must, many ideas in religion come from the human ethics, and expand it, that is, become a code of conduct for people, such as filial piety, "The Book of Filial Piety" is a Confucian classic, but its concept is still used by Taoists and Buddhists to persuade goodness, and undoubtedly plays an important role in human ethics and moral norms.
So, these kinds of practices are in everyday life, so they don't necessarily have to be categorized and treated differently by different names. In fact, there are many kinds of Taoist practice, and there are only a few.
The first category is cultivating immortals.
That is, the ancient immortal family, originated from the Spring and Autumn Period Fang Xiandao. This kind of practice is mainly based on Taoism such as magic and square techniques, so those who practice this way are also called monks. His research fields include astronomy, medicine, immortals, divination, physiognomy, and other skills. According to the "Historical Records and Feng Zen Book": the earliest monk was Chang Hong in the time of King Ling of Zhou, and it is said that he would learn yin and yang, and understand the things of ghosts and gods.
This kind of Fang Immortal Dao is different from today's Dao Sect because it does not have an organization of its own. The name of Fang Xian Dao comes from Sima Qian's "Historical Records": "For Fang Xian Dao, the form is dissolved and dissolved, and it depends on the things of ghosts and gods." It was more prosperous during the reign of Qin Shi Huang and Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. Therefore, the cultivation of this kind of Fang Immortal Dao is rare in the world, and they generally live in seclusion in the mountains and forests, isolated from the world, and have the inheritance of the Dharma lineage and seclusion
Cultivators, however, are hard to find.
And then there's, Dan Dao.
Dan Dao is the cultivation of inner and outer Dan, outer Dan is mostly seen in ancient times, and there are many Dan Taoists in history, such as Ge Hong of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. However, with the advancement of science and technology and our understanding of the human body, the ancient administration of lead and mercury has gradually withdrawn from people's sight, and then evolved into taking medicinal herbs for health care and longevity.
In addition, the monks of the Taoist Sect also practiced the Inner Dan, that is, through contemplation, meditation, standing on piles, etc., to open up the great and small Zhoutian, so as to achieve the effect of the unity of heaven and man. Nowadays, many Taoist schools have the inheritance of exercises, especially the Quanzhen school, which mainly cultivates Neidan, and there are many writings on cultivating Neidan.
This is followed by the Heavenly Master, in fact, this category should be classified into the first category, but it is more special, so it is taken out separately. Fu Gong spells and so on originated from the Tao of the Heavenly Master in the early days of Taoism. At that time, the Taoist people used the water to cure diseases, drive away the plague, and perform sacrificial rituals, which were supported by the majority of poor people, so the talisman and spell became the biggest feature of the Heavenly Master's Dao, which was used to subdue demons and eliminate demons and perform the Tao for the heavens.
In addition, there is also the Taoist classics, and historically, many works of different Taoist schools and Taoist people have been handed down, which are compiled into the "Taoist Collection". Taoist books can be described as vast as a sea of smoke, and they are the crystallization of the cultivation and wisdom of all generations of Taoists.
Therefore, many monks who live in the monastery must study the scriptures, familiarize themselves with the scriptures, and learn the rituals of the Dharma so that they can pray for the blessings of the believers. The ritual is a treasure of Taoist culture and a compulsory lesson for Taoist priests. Of course, monks or lay people are also required to do morning and evening homework, and on the birthday of the Heavenly Venerables, they must set up a congratulation ceremony. This kind of practice requires a pure heart and few desires, renunciation of red dust, morning bells and evening drums, and is very suitable for people.
Then there is the practice of red dust, the so-called practice of red dust, that is, the practice in the world. On weekdays, you need to work to solve your livelihood problems, and then you need to cultivate your mind, practice, do good deeds, and give alms as your main way of practice. However, because of the mundane affairs, there are more tribulations and ups and downs in the practice. However, because cultivating in the red dust requires facing all sentient beings, if you practice the Fa, you will also have immeasurable merits.
However, at the beginning of the practice, it is best to take refuge in the Taoist master in order to obtain the lineage of the teacher, such as the lineage of the Dharma, so that you can carry forward the Great Dao in the world, accumulate merits, and have the practice of the Xuanmen Method, which is the mode of cultivation to achieve positive results. This is because since ancient times, those who have attained enlightenment have not only had to practice the exercises, but also had to go to the human world to save people in order to attain perfection.
The last category is casual practice.
The so-called loose cultivation is mostly not the inheritance of the authentic lineage of the Xuanmen, but the common folk use of mystic arts to pray for blessings and eliminate disasters. Most of these practitioners are not highly educated, and after recovering from a serious illness, they suddenly gain some kind of ability, claiming to have the guidance of the gods or asking the gods to possess them to check the disease and solve the disaster. Most of these casual cultivators also have the lineage of the Dharma lineage, but they should belong to the hermit school.
In fact, no matter what school of practice you choose, you need to have a firm heart in the Dao, have the courage to take responsibility, spare no effort, and practice diligently in order to achieve the Tao. As long as they are pious enough, they will be able to sense heaven and earth, and they will be able to cope with the gods, and they will not worry about not achieving positive results.
The idea of Taoism can be said to have arisen at the same time as Han culture
Taoism takes "Taoist doctrine" as its ideological system, believing that "Tao" is the fundamental substance and characteristic of the universe, that all things in heaven and earth are born because of "Tao", and that social life should follow "Tao".
From the perspective of its cosmology, Taoism believes that the world is divided into four systems: "heaven, earth, man, and ghost". Heaven refers not only to the universe, but also to the abode of the gods. There are thirty-six heavens in the heavenly realm, behind the gate of heaven, there are Qionglou Yuyu, mountains and rivers, all kinds of heavenly gods reside in it, heavenly soldiers, heavenly generals, heavenly maidens, and heavenly children serve from the side, and its operation follows the "way of heaven".
The earth refers to the real world, including the so-called hell, which operates according to the earth, and the human being, which refers to us human beings. At the same time, Taoism is also a polytheistic religion, which follows the beliefs of the ancients in the sun, moon, stars, rivers, mountains and seas, and ancestral service, forming a complex system of gods including gods, earth ghosts, humans, immortals, etc.
The practice method of Taoism believes that ghosts are the pure yin qi that comes out of the body after death, referring to the place where people belong. If a person cannot cultivate virtue and accumulate virtue, the pure yin qi cannot get rid of the sea of suffering. At the same time, Taoism believes that people are "half-yin and half-yang" bodies, while heavenly immortals are "pure yang bodies", and people refine their own energy into pure yang through cultivation, and they are "gods" after death.
There are two kinds of Taoists: one is a monk, that is, a "Taoist priest". "Taixiao Lang Book of Books" said: "The pedestrian avenue is called the Taoist." "The body and mind are logical, and they are obedient to the Tao, so they are called Taoists." The other is the so-called "fire dwelling" followers, which are equivalent to the "laymen" of Buddhism, who can get married and have children, and practice at home.
Taoist ceremonies, in addition to daily morning and evening homework, also have large-scale meritorious rituals, collectively known as "Zhai Jiao". "Zhai" means Qi, before the sacrifice, clean the body and mind, and "Jiao" is to set up an altar to build prayers. Taoist Jiao can be divided into three categories: yellow pot, golden pot, and jade pot. Huang Zheng, dedicated to the record of the superordinate death.
In addition to exceedance, the golden urn also contains the content of prolonging life and receiving life, and the jade urn is dedicated to praying for disaster relief and blessing, praying for the peace of the country and the people. The dojo is measured in days, ranging from one, three, seven, and forty-nine days.
Taoism is divided into two sects, the north and the south, and there is a theory that the nature of cultivation and the cultivation of life are different; they come from the same source, and because of the different regions, they are divided into the north and the south sects. The cultivation methods of Taoism are divided into qi guidance, convincing qi, and room in the room, etc., the Fu Gong school uses charms and other charms to achieve some legendary magical functions, and the Danding school uses the cultivation of "Neidan" to achieve the effect of getting rid of life and death and grasping the laws of heaven and earth. Legend has it that the Taoist technique is very magical, and its effect needs to be verified by practice.
Taoism advocates "doing nothing and doing nothing", that is, cultivating with the mentality of "doing nothing", once you succeed, you can do anything. Taoism is known as "my fate is up to me", and this kind of doctrine that preaches that you can get rid of the shackles of life and death and even fate has attracted countless good Taoists throughout the ages.
In Datang, there are still many immortal places left behind.
The origin of the titles "Guan", "Palace", "Temple", "Ancestral Hall" and other titles of Daomen practice places "Palace" should be a higher level of practice places than "Guan", such as Qingyang Palace, Chongyang Palace, Taiqing Palace, Taihe Palace, etc.
"The residence of the ancients and princes is called the palace, and the high-rise buildings on both sides of the city gate are called the view.
It is recorded here that the "palace" is higher than the "view", and later generations are also accustomed to calling the royal residence a palace, such as Daming Palace, Qianqing Palace, etc.
The Taoist practice place is called "Gong", which should have started in the time of Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.
In the twenty-ninth year of Xuanzong's Kaiyuan, he ordered the two capitals and the states of the world to build the Xuanyuan Emperor Temple, Tianbao changed the Xuanyuan Emperor Temple in Liangjing to the Taishang Xuanyuan Emperor Palace, and in the following year, the Xuanyuan Emperor Temple in Xijing was changed to the Taiqing Palace, Tokyo was the Taiwei Palace, and the counties of the world were the Ziji Palace, and the palace was dedicated to the Xuanyuan Emperor of the Holy Ancestral Road. When Huizong of the Song Dynasty, he listened to the words of the Taoist priest Lin Ling, and Huizong called himself Taixiao Shenjun, and changed the Tianning Longevity Concept of the world to the Shenxiao Yuqing Wanshou Palace, and enshrined the statue of the Immortal Emperor and the Qinghua Emperor. Since then, "Gong" has appeared as a Taoist spiritual training ground.
Generally called "palace" Taoist practice places have the emperor's edict, such as Qingyang Palace, Tang Xizong took refuge in Shuzhong, once used this as a palace, and later issued an edict to change to Qingyang Palace. Another example is Chongyang Palace. Of course, there are also some self-proclaimed "palaces" who raise their own value, and there is no need to investigate this, and there is no strict hierarchical difference between "palace" and "view" today.
The origin of the names of Taoist practice places such as "view", "palace", "temple" and "ancestral hall" Another name of Taoist practice places "temple" is confused with Buddhism, such as Dongyue Temple, Dujiangyan Erwang Temple, etc. The Taoist practice site called "temple" may be similar to the previous Buddhist practice site called "temple".
The "temple" was originally used to worship the ancestors, and the "Book of Rites" says: "Seven temples of the Son of Heaven, five temples of Qing, three temples of doctors, and one temple of scholars." Among them, the "Taimiao" is the ancestral temple of the emperor, and only the royal family is qualified to set it up. Other families with officials and lords can establish their own "family temples" in accordance with the system.
After the Han Dynasty, the folk gradually rose to the custom of building temples for some gods and saints, such as the Dragon King Temple, the Mountain Temple, the City God Temple, the Confucian Temple, the Guandi Temple, etc. Most of these gods who entered the temple and were enshrined were Taoist gods. Later, "temple" became a general term for Buddhist temples, Taoist temples, and places where people worship gods, especially among the people.
Generally, most of the gods enshrined in "temples" are Taoist gods, can it be explained that the concept of "temple" in Buddhist practice sites is borrowed from Taoism's "temple"?
In fact, the Chinese folk are more deeply influenced by Taoist culture, especially the set of blessings, fortune telling, and feng shui, and the "temple" is also mostly from the people, and it is very likely that the folk grafted the Taoist "temple" to the Buddhist "temple". Of course, this is just a personal immature idea.
The origin of the titles of Taoist practice places such as "view", "palace", "temple" and "ancestral hall" There is also a category of Taoist practice places with the title of "ancestral hall", such as Mount Tai Bixia Temple.
"Shuowen Jie Zi" said: "Ancestral Hall, Spring Sacrifice Ancestral Hall, few products, more words!" It can be seen that the original meaning of "Ancestral Hall" is a kind of sacrifice. But I don't know when the "ancestral hall" became a place to commemorate great people, which is somewhat similar to the "temple".
"Hanshu Xun Biography of Officials" records: "Wen Weng finally Shu, the people for the ancestral hall. Timely sacrifices are endless. "Wen Weng here is hailed as a pearl in the history of Chinese education, and he is the first to establish a local government school in the Tang Dynasty
People, now Chengdu's famous Stone Chamber Middle School, is said to have been built by Wen Weng.
The origin of the titles of "view", "palace", "temple" and "ancestral hall" in Taoist practice places Taoism also has a type of practice place called "hole", such as Qingcheng Mountain Tianshi Cave, Chongqing Laojun Cave and so on.
There is a saying that "hole" is the meaning of insight, seeing through the three steps of truth, mystery and god. This statement is really a bit subordinate, and the Taoist "hole" should refer to the cave. Taoist practitioners like to practice on high mountains, and caves become the first place to live on the mountains. The cave can not only shelter from the wind and rain, but also be free from external interference and concentrate on cultivation. As a result, we see that there will be an ancestral cave behind many Taoist temples, saying that the patriarch practiced here in the past.
The Taoist practice place is called "Cave", probably to commemorate a certain master who practiced here. Or, there is a "hole" that a certain master practiced is so famous that it is named after it. For example, the origin of the Tianshi Cave in Qingcheng Mountain is that according to legend, Zhang Daoling, the founder of the Heavenly Master Dao, once practiced preaching among the cliffs of Qingcheng Mountain, thus getting the name of the Tianshi Cave.
It is generally believed that the "nunnery" is a place of practice for Buddhist female monks, but this is not the case. Taoism also has a place of practice called "hermitage", such as the famous "Eight Immortal Nunnery" in Chang'an, after the Eight Immortal Nunnery was renamed the Eight Immortal Palace, and the locals are still used to calling it the Eight Immortal Nunnery.
"Nunnery" is a kind of small grass house in ancient times, the so-called "grass for the hermitage", and the literati's study is also called "hermitage", such as "Laoxue Nunnery", "Yingmei Nunnery" and so on. It is not known when the monastic practice site was called "nunnery".
Either because "an" is a pure place that is conducive to cultivation, or because it is different from male practitioners, this seems to be a conventional name, and there is no explicit rule. But in fact, "hermitage" was mostly used in the past, and now there are only a few Taoist practice places called "hermitage", and even if it is called "hermitage", it is mostly changed to "palace", "view" and so on. As mentioned above, the Eight Immortals Temple was changed to the Eight Immortals Palace.
Since ancient times, the understanding of cultivating immortals and attaining sainthood can be traced back to ancient times, from the ancient turtle back text to the river book Luotu to the evolution of easy learning, to the generation of Dan Dao, and the great medicine ring. The phase change of yin and yang from the natural body of the universe to the small natural body of the human body is in the process of regular changes all the time, the ring of yin and yang, the phase system of lead and mercury, the proportion of medicine, the appearance of the entrance, and the yang cultivation of the original god, orderly and column.
What is a fairy?
Twelve o'clock in a day, thirty days in January, and three hundred and sixty-five days in December in a year are all truths, and in one day there is a life and death, and there is a river cart, and the deficit can be made up. There is a lack of the full moon in January, and the fire of the small Zhou day is good, there are three hundred and sixty-five days and a quarter of a day in a year, the sun goes around the ecliptic, and the fire of the big Zhou day is good.
The four seasons of the year are twenty-four solar terms, and the heaven and earth intersect, and the spirit can be known. Human beings themselves are a kind of natural body, and the Danfa is the way of heaven, which can be cultivated and the way of heaven can be achieved.
"Family Language" day: "Those who do not eat, do not die and are gods." "Shuo Wen Jie Zi": "Immortal: Immortal immortal goes." From people from the mountains. "Interpretation": "Old and immortal." Immortals, migrated also. Moved into the mountains also. Therefore, the word maker is next to the mountain.
In front of the formation of the Two Realms Mountain, the real person who carried the water protected the formation and recited: "One of the Dao."
Words, for no reason, no beginning and no end, through the heavens and the earth, terrifying. Those who have attained the Tao can change their bones, live forever, be sick, be healthy, achieve karma, and achieve ambition. Those who have lost their ways are like flowers that bloom in the morning and fall in the evening, and grass that lives in the morning and dies at night. It is the wisdom of the ancients, diligently doing good, and earnestly seeking the way. There are three Taoist characters, which are all over the world. ”
Finally, he put two fingers in front of him and read, "Towering Daomen, there is something to do after all." ”
A yellow rune paper quietly fell from the formation, came to Xie Baoshu, and stuck it on his back.
But Xie Baoshu was still looking at the demon clan on the other side, and he didn't notice it at all.
