288 Basement (Down)
The wooden door to the basement was pulled open.
Harry felt a chill in his face, his hair stood upside down, and he subconsciously hit a spirit. He gasped, and a sudden uneasiness rose in his heart, a feeling that made him very unhappy. frowned, thinking that it must be because Corbett kept babbling beside him, and he was affected.
The two walked down the stairs and into the basement.
Harry held the flashlight and shone it under his feet, as his body adjusted to the cold of the basement, and the discomfort disappeared.
Corbett followed closely behind Harry, his hands tugging at the clothes behind his back.
Harry looked back at Corbett, his eyes full of disgust, and said coldly:
"Let me go!"
"Ah, I'm sorry." Corbett quickly let go of his hand and took a step back.
"Cut, coward!" Harry turned his head and held up his flashlight to look around.
The basement was silent, surrounded by wooden shelves littered with bottles and cans, and a fragment of a jar on the ground.
Harry looked around and turned to look at Corbett.
"You see, there are no ghosts here."
Corbett looked left and right and nodded.
"yes, yes, I don't think so."
"Humph! Even if there are ghosts, they can only come out at night, how can you not even have this common sense. β
"I'm sorry......" Corbett lowered his head in shame, "it's all my fault for being cowardly." β
Harry shook his head disdainfully, then asked:
"Hey, where did you put your camera?"
Corbett raised his hand and pointed to the top of the wooden frame in the corner.
"Right in that position."
Harry held up his flashlight and shone it at where Corbett was pointing, and did see the camera.
The camera is fixed to the top of a wooden frame, and a battery compartment is placed next to it to power the camera.
Harry confirmed the camera's position and walked to the corner shelf. Walking to the wooden shelf, he moved the bottles and cans on the wooden shelf, and due to the large height difference between him and Corbett, he had to step on the wooden stand to touch the camera.
Corbett asked behind him:
"Do you want me to help you?"
"No!" Harry held on to the wooden frame, lifted his leg and stepped on the bottom layer, straightened up, and then took another step upward.
The camera appeared in front of his eyes.
Harry was about to reach out and remove the camera when suddenly, a scream rang out from the basement.
"Ahh What is it! β
The scream was so piercing that Harry shuddered and leaned back, but fortunately he was usually exercising regularly, and his body was still quite agile, so he hurriedly jumped off the wooden frame to stabilize his body.
"Fack! What is it called! Harry spun around sharply and held up his flashlight to shine behind him.
Corbett craned his neck, pointed to the ground, and shouted:
"What's that?"
"What? What the hell are you talking about!? Harry quickly shone his flashlight to the ground.
At this moment, a black shadow swished through the flashlight beam.
Harry was startled, and quickly raised his flashlight to shine it at the dark shadow, only to see a huge mouse slipping into the hole in the corner. Seeing the appearance of the black shadow, he breathed a sigh of relief, it turned out to be a mouse.
"Old, mouse?" Corbett also saw the rat clearly, and the whole person collapsed.
Harry looked at Corbett's appearance, anger rose in his heart, and he roared:
"Who's special, don't call in the special!"
"Sorry, sorry." Corbett scratched his hair, looking annoyed, and seemed to understand the gaffe just now.
"Fack, you almost scared me just now!"
"I'm so sorry." Corbett hung his head, not daring to look at Harry.
Harry glared at Corbett fiercely, then gasped, shook his head helplessly, turned around, and stepped onto the wooden frame again.
He removed the camera from the wooden frame and held up a flashlight to shine a picture. Soon, he noticed that the power supply connector was loose.
Seeing this, he frowned, complaining that the camera would suddenly stop working.
Harry plugged the camera back in and put it back on the wooden frame.
He jumped off the wooden frame, turned around, and glared at Corbett, already knowing in his heart that the so-called failure just now was caused by Corbett not plugging in the wiring.
Corbett felt that Harry's gaze was not good, so he quickly shrunk his neck and asked in a low voice:
"So, is the camera ready?"
"Alright." Harry nodded with a pulled face, then asked in a deep voice, "Why didn't you plug the camera connector in?" β
"Interface?" Corbett was stunned.
"Don't be confused, the camera's power supply interface is loose."
"How is this possible? I plugged in the connector before putting the camera on the shelf. β
"Hmph, don't make excuses!"
"Really!" Corbett exclaimed anxiously, "I really plugged in the interface before leaving, and I also checked, there is no possibility of loosening." β
Harry looked at Corbett with disdain, not believing Corbett's words at all.
"Really, please trust me!"
"Trust you?" The corners of Harry's mouth curled up and he smiled sarcastically, "If it wasn't for you not plugged it in, why did the camera's power connector come loose?" β
"IβI don't know." Corbett bit his lip and shook his head.
"Go back and explain to Ed." Harry raised his flashlight and was about to make his way to the stairs.
At this time, Corbett suddenly covered his mouth with one hand and pointed at him with the other.
Harry paused and looked at Corbett in bewilderment.
"What! What do you mean? β
Corbett's eyes widened and he stared at him, his mouth trembling.
"Ha, Harry, you, you're behind ......"
"Back?" Harry was stunned for a moment, but it became clear that Corbett was trying to trick him.
He smiled coldly.
"What's behind me? Are there any ghosts? β
"Really, there's a ghost behind you!" Corbett yelled.
"Haha, naΓ―ve, you think I'm as gullible as you are?"
Harry didn't believe what Corbett said at all, because that's how he lied to Corbett. He guessed that Corbett was angry and wanted to scare him with the same trick, but he wouldn't take the bait at all.
At this time, Corbett kept shaking his head and his whole body began to tremble.
Harry frowned, it didn't seem right, and he felt a chill in his back. He licked his lips, took a deep breath, and jerked around.
A white face close at hand appeared in front of him.
Harry felt like he was falling into an ice cellar.
Behind him stood a man in a gray suit, his face pale and bloodless, his eyes staring straight at him.
Harry's teeth chattered, his legs trembled, and he took a few steps back before he stopped when he got to Corbett.
He never thought that there really was a ghost in this old house, and this ghost would appear during the day.
At this moment, a string of gunshots suddenly rang out.
Dadada!
The ghost in the gray suit twitched, staggered back, and suddenly disappeared without a trace.
Seeing this, Harry felt cold and fear, and he screamed and ran towards the stairs. Three steps and two steps, and in an instant he jumped up the stairs and ran out of the wooden door in the basement.
He ran into the hallway, only to remember that Corbett was still underneath, and when he looked back, he saw that the wooden door had closed by itself, but Corbett had not escaped.
