Chapter 30: The Resurrection of the Dead

"Bruce, long time no see"

As the light of the magic circle on the ground dissipated, a woman stepped down from above, a black tuxedo gown covered by a white tight-fitting uniform, a red bow tie tied around her bare neck, and a black top hat stood slightly diagonally above her long black hair.

She was Zatana, born into a family of magicians, and this was just a cover for their family to make a living outside, and their family was a real family of magicians.

"I'm sorry you called you here during the global loop"

"You're so hard to look for me, what's going on?"

Bruce briefly told Zatana what had happened, and Zatana frowned and whispered a spell that ordinary people couldn't understand, and blue light poured out from the black top hat, and soon filled the entire bat cave.

After the blue dots of light disappeared, Zatana said with certainty:

"There is no problem with my enchantment, there is no trace of invasion, even I can't teleport here directly without your summons"

"Just hallucinations?"

"The possibility of projection is very high, but it's not just projection, the contract you signed is absolutely real"

Zatana furrowed her eyebrows, things were more stinging than she thought, and being able to sneak into her carefully arranged magical enchantment without a sound would mean that the other party's magical class would be much higher than hers.

"I'm helping you strengthen the enchantment."

The remaining magic fluctuations in the bat cave were so faint that Zatana couldn't use the remaining fragments to track down who was breaking in.

Chanting ancient magic spells in a low voice, the short staff in his hand continued to wave white points of light outward, and the points of light floated everywhere, touching the edge of the cave and burrowing into it, and soon the magic barrier was strengthened.

"Can't you find out who it is?"

Bruce looked at Zatana, who breathed a sigh of relief, and knew that the work of strengthening the enchantment was over, so he asked again unwillingly.

“..... Why are you in such a hurry to find that person? ”

Zatana felt a little strange that Bruce was not going to do anything superfluous, and he would not normally go to the trouble of tracking down a magic criminal unless an evil magician provoked him.

"Can you find it?"

Bruce didn't answer Zatana's question, and asked instead.

Looking at Bruce's persistent eyes, Zatana sighed:

"No, there are so few fragments of information left that I can't find them with my ability."

After Zatana finished speaking, she looked at Bruce's dim blue eyes, and continued:

"But I know of someone who maybe... But I don't promise she'll help........"

Bruce furrowed his brow at Zatana's words, he had a hunch that he didn't want to hear that name.

Bruce's hunch was right, Sersi was the woman Zatana said might be able to help, Bruce had dealt with her a few times, and as a result, he really didn't want to have anything to do with this woman.

"Oh, that's funny, you're coming to me?"

Sersi sat in her chair and looked mockingly at the two uninvited guys.

"Sercy, I came to you this time in the hope that you could do me a favor"

"Help? Looking for me? Hahahaha"

Sersi let out a string of laughs, unabashedly mocking Zatana's words. After finally laughing enough, he got up from his chair and walked over to the two:

"I'm a witch, I only talk about deals, and if you want to get what you know from me, you'll have to pay the price"

Sersi is a witch, and in a sense she is more of a female demon who seduces others to sign contracts to get what they want. However, when the magic reached the level of Sercy, she didn't want the gold and silver jewelry that ordinary people say, she was more interested in some rare magic.

"I want to know which demon left this thing behind, and how he summoned it"

Bruce took the remnant of magic that had been imprisoned by magic in Zatana's hand and handed it to Sercy.

Sersi glanced at the contents of the glass orb, and then asked in a flat tone:

"What are you looking for him?"

Just a simple sentence shows that Sersi knows the true face of the owner of this thing.

"What do you want?"

Without any hesitation, Brucy asked Sersi for the reward she wanted. Sercy's red eyes glanced at him, then she turned away coldly, picked up a silver kettle and poured water on the pot of violets on the table.

"I don't need jewelry, that kind of thing that is considered priceless by humans means nothing to me"

Sercy put down the kettle in his hand, and the pot of unusually bright violets turned into a pot of exquisite gemstone carvings.

"What do you want?"

Bruce didn't give up and continued to ask.

"I know what you're looking for, but I'm not going to tell you"

"What the hell is that?"

Seeing Sercy's appearance, Zatana's curiosity was also aroused. After watering the flowers, Sercy twisted her ass and walked back to her seat, picking up a beautifully carved teacup, and the teapot standing next to her immediately flew over and poured warm tea into it.

"It has no fixed name, and some human myths describe it as the Lord of Plague, or the Chariot of Death, or the Divine Messenger in charge of the earth."

Sersi paused, believing that with the cleverness of these two men, she could understand what this thing meant.

“... Its appearance means mass death"

"Yes, I'm though. Well, it doesn't seem like anything good has been done to you, but the world where people are dead is not so fun."

Cersei took a sip of tea and continued:

"I know what you want to do, Batman. If you think it's foolish to summon him to you by other means, it's hard to believe that this is what you came up with, and that the child is so important to you? ”

Even if Sersi hadn't seen the contract that Batman almost signed, she could understand what kind of promise this guy gave Batman.

"It's funny, you never thought to resurrect your parents when they died, so why do this for a boy who is not related to you?"

"Bruce, you can't do that"

Zatana had a hunch that it was possible for Bruce to be so obsessed with finding this demon, but it was absolutely not something to do.

Bruce stood quietly and did not answer either of the two men's questions.

"Forget it, why don't you sign a contract with me? I can make you a puppet, well, if you think you can live that way."

Sercy continued, if she could control Batman, it would be convenient for her.

Bruce didn't say anything and turned to walk towards the door, and Zatana glanced at Sercy and hurried after him.

"Hey! Don't you want this thing? ”

Sersi glanced at the magic ball in his hand, and after receiving no answer, he continued to talk to himself:

"Then I'll take it, even if I owe you once, I won't charge for the next time I come to me."

With a flick of his hand, the glass ball formed by the condensation of magic broke and cracked, and the black smoke-like remnants of magic inside were quickly sucked into a new glass bottle, and then stood safely on the bookcase next to it.

"Bruce, listen to me, the resurrection of the dead is an absolute taboo"

"If this is a taboo, then all the doctors who rescue it are"

"That's a different Bruce"

Zatana grabbed Bruce in front of him in a few steps and stopped Bruce from leaving quickly, saying:

"That's different, Bruce, if you want, I can get Jason's body moving again, let the rotting tissue regenerate, let it continue to breathe, let it eat and drink, but I can't summon his lost soul back, you understand?"

Bruce looked at Zatana's face for a while, and finally walked around her towards the batmachine.

"He still hasn't answered me why he wants to resurrect the boy who has nothing to do with him"

Sercy's voice suddenly came out of nowhere, startling Zatana.

“... That's different, he was just a powerless kid when his parents died, but Jason was already the guardian of Gotham when he died."

"Can't accept your failure? Men are really interesting creatures."

"If it was just one of his failures, it would have been much easier"

"Hmm~ I can't understand what he's thinking"

"What else is going on with you?"

"I'm just here to tell you, I'll take the thing you brought, and I owe you once. Next time you come to me for help and give you a free one."

It's not a sudden kindness from Sersi, it's just that the more people know about magic, the more they appreciate that invisible balance, and Sersi just doesn't want this balance of interests to be disrupted.

"What do you want to do?"

In response to Zatana's questioning, Sercy just leaked a perfect smile:

"That's not what you should ask, little girl..."
