Chapter 31: A storm of conspiracy is coming
The scarecrow sat in his chair, dangling with his feet on the table, looking at the newspaper in his hand.
"Is the message from the Joker accurate?"
"Hmm... Although that guy is unreliable, but when it comes to Batman, he won't lie."
The penguin man took a hard puff on his cigar and said.
No one knows what the clown is thinking, and it feels like there's no connection between his IQ one second and the next. But one thing is for sure, that guy has an inexplicable obsession with Batman.
He said that if he killed Robin, then he would most likely actually kill Robin.
"What do you think?"
That being said, the clown could never be trusted, and the penguin, in order to find stronger evidence for his claim, turned his head and asked his good-minded partner.
“... Do I think.... You can't go wrong with that."
The Riddler played with the playing cards in his hand, seemingly casually answering the Penguin's question. He was interested in the Penguin's proposal to unite a few people to take down the current Batman, but his reasons for interest were not exactly the same as the others.
"I'm not interested, I deliberately called me, I thought what was the matter?"
Deathstroke got up lazily from the chair he was sitting on, and said his decision before leaving, he was a mercenary, and he had no interest in unearned work.
"How much do you want?"
The penguin hadn't hired Death Knell once or twice, but he didn't know the man, but as a mercenary, what could be more important than money?
"Actually made me make a bid... Interesting, aren't you afraid that I will offer you a price that you can't pay?"
"If I can kill Batman this time, I will become the richest man in Gotham, how much do you want?"
Deathstroke squinted at the stocky man and finally sat back in his seat in silence, signifying his decision to join the action.
"And what about you, Bane?"
With the death knell out of the way, the penguin man asked another man who was standing silently by the window.
“... When it's done, I want a piece of land in Gotham."
"Of course"
The huge physique, which almost blocked the entire window, did not look back, but only gave an affirmative answer.
The decision of these two men reassured the penguins a lot.
"Hmm... Do you want to bring in the double-faced and clowns? ”
The Riddler asked rhetorically, and the Penguin seemed to have decided to take a gamble this time, and in order to make sure that he could kill Batman in this opportunity, he began to woo all the people he could.
“... No, both the double-sided and the clown are unstable"
The penguin said with a smoky frown. Two-faced is a maniac, and he can be the guy on Batman's side at any time. Not to mention clowns. That guy is a pervert at all, his obsession with Batman is really incomprehensible, he doesn't have much interest in killing Batman, he is just very obsessed with driving Batman crazy, and that family will do everything that is about to kill Batman, which he found out when he met the Joker. Whoever wants to team up with him is purely a brain filled with cement.
"I hope we can finally divide as agreed"
Black Mask, who had been sitting across from the penguin, finally spoke.
"Of course, as long as we can actually kill that guy"
The penguin taps a corner of the table with his cane, and the transparent table top immediately turns into a holographic stereo of Gotham.
The people who had been scattered around the room gathered here.
"This is a tactical seminar?"
"It's really troublesome, set a bait and let him take the bait, just 'BANG' it just once"
The penguin people's cautious behavior has caused some people to be dissatisfied.
"If you don't want to bring in the one from the Met, I think it's better for us to discuss a plan, not to mention that we've always faced that black bat alone, this is the first time we've worked together, and I think we need a plan."
The penguin man glanced around at the guys, and he really didn't want to have anything to do with them if he could.
"Metropolis? I think we can go and talk to the bald head, I think he'll be interested."
Deathstroke suggested, thinking that Luthor would not let go of this opportunity to take out Superman.
The penguin man glanced at Deathknell, and he really couldn't understand what the man was thinking.
"I think he would indeed be interested.... But I still don't want to lure the Met's flyer over."
The Penguins have also dealt with Luthor a few times, and he believes that it is not only Superman who attracts Luthor to him, but also the economy of Gotham. He doesn't want to find a strong competitor for himself, killing Batman won't make him the richest man in Gotham immediately, his next step is to annex Wayne Enterprises, and at this critical juncture, he doesn't want to make a big problem for himself.
"Indeed, it will be troublesome for that guy to come"
Bane affirmed the Penguin's statement, saying that it was not a wise choice to be an enemy of Superman.
"So, let's set up a few plans first."
Seeing that several people seemed to get their word out, the Penguins decided to start planning a perfect detail, this time making sure Batman disappear from Gotham's territory.
According to the penguin's idea, use the scarecrow's fear gas to create an illusion for the man, and then Bane or Deathstroke will solve him.
Deathstroke watched the penguins spat at the stars and talk about their plan, but they scoffed at it in their hearts. If that man was so easy to take out, then he wouldn't be Batman.
Black Mask doesn't have much interest in the Penguin's plans, and the reason he's here is simply because after taking out Batman, he'll get a bigger piece of territory. As for the penguin, if he wants to turn the white that is his business, but if he still wants to continue the underground interests, he doesn't mind killing him.
Bane's purpose is clearer, and he has never hidden his desire for a piece of land, not the unnamed territory of the underground world, but a land that truly belongs to him in the legal sense.....
One of the purposes of the Scarecrow's involvement was probably to test his new poison gas, and Batman seemed to be immune to his previous poison gases, which frustrated him more than sending the Scarecrow into Arkham.
The only thing that the Riddler couldn't see through was the death knell.
He's a mercenary, and it seems like money can be his goal, but that's definitely not the real reason to put him and Batman head-to-head.
Deathstroke sat in a chair, his mask obscuring his expression so it was impossible to guess what he was thinking at the moment, but judging by the way he was sitting, the Riddler would have been bored if he dared to bet with his cane.
