Astarte Monk Power Armor

Power armor is an advanced, self-powered combat armor suit commonly found in Space Marine's gear sequences. Pen~Fun~Ge www.biquge.info Power Armor is a completely airtight set of armor encased in ceramic ablation-resistant materials and protected by armor plates made of pure gold and plastic steel. Each power armor comes with a full range of life-sustaining systems for use in harsh environments, an automated medical system that provides a level of first aid in the event of an injury to the wearer, and an advanced target threat analysis and lock-on system (also known as auto-sensing). When not activated, the power armor is extremely heavy and cumbersome, but once activated, the electronic muscle beams inside the power armor sense and replicate the wearer's movements in real time, greatly increasing the wearer's strength, even if it is already superhuman.

The design of the Astarte Power Armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

The power armor worn by Brother Astarte is covered in heavy ceramic composite armor plates, but they are not as clumsy as they seem, and the electronic muscle bundles built into the armor perfectly replicate the user's movements, greatly increasing his strength. The Space Marine's final modification surgery - the black carapace - was buried deep under their skin, and connected to a neural sensing device and several interfaces. These ports work closely with the Power Armor, transmitting the wearer's nerve signals to the power armor's artificial nerve centers and driving them to action, allowing the Power Armor to match his body movements with speed and accuracy, almost like a Space Marine's second skin. The Astarte Power Armor cannot be activated without a black carapace, making it the most iconic piece of equipment for Space Marines (Astarte Friars).

There are many different models of power armor, and they differ quite significantly in appearance. Many of the older models have become exclusive to certain warbands, and are usually only found among their Honorary Guardians or Elite members. Power armor is carefully maintained by the Warband's Technicians, who are not part of the Space Marines, but who also dedicate their lives to the service of the Warband. Particularly gifted technicians are highly praised and the fruits of their labor are respected. The components of the historic Power Armor are collected with reverence, as they not only carry the heroic deeds of individuals, but also represent the glorious history of the warband. Parts like these are stored in high value and painstakingly integrated into newer power armor. For this reason, it is not uncommon to see many power armors equipped with parts from more than one model, and each piece of shin armor and neck armor carries the glory and noble spirit of victory.

Power armor is hermetically sealed, isolating its wearer from the outside environment, shielding him from biological, chemical weapons and harmful atmospheres. It contains many auxiliary systems such as radio communication devices, automatic sensing devices, etc. The alteration surgery undergo by the Space Marines implants a black carapace under their skin, allowing their nervous system to connect to the power armor, making it their second skin. Power Armor, on the other hand, has an advanced biomonitoring system that can directly respond to the wearer's medical information in the event of an injury to himself or to the Warband's pharmacist in the event of an injury. The armored backpack contains the subatomic fusion reactor, the main source of power for the power armor, and a backup solar charging system (including 100 solar cells). The backpack also includes armored environmental and life support systems and additional motion stabilisation devices, which are used in combat in gravity-free or low-gravity environments.

The basic structure of the power armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

All models of Power Armor include the following systems:

Auto-sensing system:

The vast majority of combat command systems are integrated into the helmets of the Space Marines, and they are collectively known as automatic sensing systems. The system includes a series of subsystems with different functions, such as the communication-sound filtering system, the aiming-ranging system, the tactical map, and the divination system, which greatly enhance the already keen perception ability of the Space Marine.

Optical Imaging System:

The optical imaging system protects the user's vision from damage in bright light, and its infrared and ultraviolet scanning modes allow the user to obtain clear images even in low-light environments.

Acoustic System - Breathing Grille:

The Audible Device amplifies the Space Marine's battle cry and makes it deafening, and it also contains an air filter that can be turned off by the mind, which consumes the oxygen reserves inside the power armor when the air filter is not working.

Shoulder Armor:

Designed to easily deflect and absorb impact, the spaulders also served as the Astarte Monk's emblem, with Space Marines painting the emblems of their warbands, companies, and squads on their shoulder armor and decorating them with ribbons of honor.

Cuirass:

The cuirass protected a large number of lines of power armor, and it was often adorned with the Empire's double-headed eagle emblem, which some veterans would replace with a skull sigil.

Power Backpack:

The Power Pack contains the power core of the full set of armor, as well as a battery backup and a solar power unit that can charge the armor in case of an emergency.

Vital Signs Detection System:

Brother Astarte's power armor contains a complete life support system, including auto-injected analgesics, stimulants, and antidote components.

Temperature Control System:

Brother Astarte's power armor keeps the wearer's body temperature at a constant level, and the heat provided by the armor's reactor can be used to keep warm, while excess heat is expelled through the heat vents in the backpack, allowing a Space Marine wearing full power armor to move freely in battlefields such as ice and snow and craters, with little discomfort from changes in ambient temperature.

Nutritional Supplement System:

Brother Astarte's Power Armor contains a self-circulating food replenishment system that provides enough high-energy liquid food for Space Marines in battle, eliminating the need to stop to eat and hydrate during combat.

Reinforced leg components:

These components include a gyroscopic stabilizer and a magnetic generator, allowing Space Marines to persist in gravity-free or unstable environments.

History and development of power armor:

"Neither shrapnel, nor swords, nor flames, nor claws can stop the progress of the Space Marines in power armor." - From the Astarte Canon

Power armor existed long before the foundation of the empire was laid, and was worn by the high-tech barbarians who ruled the planet in times of war. The early genetically modified warriors also wore power armor and followed the emperor to unify the earth, and ended the war at the end of the thirtieth millennium. The earliest models of power armor were not all sealed, and their life support systems were not as functional as they would have been, but this was enough if they were only to fight on Earth. Over the course of the Empire's long history, power armor has evolved into many different models. The need for war, the persecution of forms, the recovery of precious materials, and the excavation of ancient technology have contributed to the evolution of power armor.

When it comes to space marines, people often think of the image of warriors dressed in majestic armor, lined up in neat phalanxes, and each with a double-headed eagle emblem on their chests. This type of power armor is therefore often referred to as "double-headed eagle" armor. However, the double-headed Eagle power armor is only one of eight models that have been put on the battlefield during this millennium. Newer models of power armor are being used to varying degrees in existing warbands, while older models have become extremely rare. Ancient power armor in good condition is extremely rare and highly prized, as it is the embodiment of the glorious history of Space Marine. These ancient armors were often worn as the uniforms of honor guards or placed as decoration in the offices of senior commanders. It is important to note that while the level of engineering has been steadily improving in recent years, this is not the result of innovative inventions, but rather the discovery of technologies that recycle the dark ages. Since the Horus Rebellion at the end of the Great Expedition, the Empire's culture and technology have stagnated - which certainly won't contribute any way to the improvement of power armor.

MKI Thunder Warrior Power Armor

Astarte Monk Power Armor

The first type of power armor made for Space Marines was the MKI Thunder Power Armor, but despite its official name, it is still referred to simply as "Power Armor" in most cases. The Thunderbolt Power Armor is a development of the Power Combat Armor worn by the high-tech barbarians who ruled the Earth in the war-torn era, and was used in the War to Reclaim and unify the Earth before the Emperor began his Great Expedition. For the Space Marines, there is no special sense of belonging to this armor, after all, the high-tech barbarians wore it, and the Thunder Warriors before the Star Marines appeared wore it. In addition, since the armor is designed to be used in combat in the Earth's environment, it is not airtight, i.e., it cannot be used in a vacuum, and only the upper body of the armor is equipped with a power system. This is because during the War of Earth Unification, long-range weapons were difficult to produce in large quantities due to technical reasons, and soldiers often needed to rely more on their upper body strength in battle.

Named after the Thunderbolt emblem used by the Emperor during the Unification War (the double-headed eagle emblem was not used until the time of the Great Expedition), it is now often referred to as "Thunder" armor. The production of this early power armor was entirely indigenous to the law, there was no standard production at all, and the differences between the various sets of armor were very different, and their design was often based on personal preference. The main part of this type of armor is the body armor and arm armor that wrap around the upper body, and the cables placed under the armor plate transfer energy from the power pack to the arm part, greatly enhancing the user's strength. Since the most common combat in the War of Unification was close combat, the strength of the arms and upper body of the warrior became extremely important. The legs of the armor had no drive system at all, and were simply wrapped in hard material - sometimes simply steel plates. In addition, although rare, some of the most well-equipped soldiers received shin armor and armor boots. This power armor is much more noisy than later models when moving, and it is mostly due to the drag of the lower body without a driving device, and it is impossible to slow down.

MKII Expeditionary Power Armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

The MKII Power Armor was developed after the end of the war-torn era and was put into use during the Emperor's Great Expedition aimed at unifying the human landscape. After leading an army of Space Marines to conquer the major planets of the solar system, the factories of the Cult of the Mechanics of Mars were instructed to produce a more advanced and newer form of power armor for the Emperor's newborn Space Marines. The resulting power is known as the "Expeditionary" power armor, as it was developed to carry out the Emperor's Great Expedition. The MKII Power Armor was the first fully sealed type of armor, which made it possible to conquer the stars and fight in a vacuum. In addition to being airtight, this type of power armor also has a complete set of life support systems, which allows its users to fight in space or in the harsh environmental climate of aliens.

This type of power armor is made up of tiny terracotta armor rings stacked on top of each other, making it more troublesome to maintain than other power armors. Larger armor segments made up of these small armor rings are connected to each other for greater degrees of freedom, and these armor segments also cover most of the lines of this type of armor. The shape of the backpack is similar to that of the MKI model, but with an additional life-sustaining system that includes an air filter, a human waste recycling device, and a first-aid device, and the armor is powered by the backpack. The helmet of the armor cannot be rotated, but the wearer can rotate his head inside the helmet. The helmet also contains an electronic sensor and a microcomputer that continuously scans the surrounding environment and converts it into audio-visual signals that are sent to the wearer's cerebral cortex through a neurofeedback device. This further strengthened the already very keen senses of Brother Astarte. In addition, the helmet automatically blocks against strong flashes and loud noise, a system collectively known as "auto-sensing" that has become standard on subsequent Power Armor models. In some of the stations that only have one or two sets of these artifacts that have become extremely valuable, the MKII Power Armor is only used in formal occasions and ceremonies. In other warbands, it is often awarded to the champion of the warband and goes into battle with him.

Although the MKII Power Armor is much quieter than the MKI, it is still too noisy for fighters who want to move silently. Despite this, wearing MKII Power Armor to combat often reminds Space Marines of the glory of the Great Expedition and boosts their morale.

MKIII Steel Power Armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

As the Great Expedition steps into the heart of the galaxy, the Expeditionary Force finds itself in the territory of many space dwarves. These subhumans resented bowing to the conqueror, even if he was emperor. The Legion's enemies, the Space Dwarves, are both freedom-loving and tenacious, and fighting in an underground city environment makes the Legion miserable. After heavy casualties, the MKIII power armor was born. It is designed to be used in such battlefields or similar environments, such as broadside combat, where the MKIII Power Armor provides the best protection in confined spaces with no cover. The MKIII also performed very well when attacking head-on. Because of its excellent properties, it received the nickname "ArmorumFerrum" - in High Gothic terms.

The MKIII Power Armor was not created to replace the MKII, but to provide additional protection for Space Marines in certain environments (space dwarf territory, mines, tunnels, narrow corridor lights of warships). Its frontal armor was thicker than that of the MKII type, while the back correspondingly weakened protection. The MKIII Power Armor's helmet is extremely heavy and designed to bounce bullets off the sides, a trait that has earned it the nickname "Iron Suit". This helmet design influenced the subsequent helmet designs including MKIV and MKVI, especially the MKVI, known as the Raven Beak, which almost took the concept of wedge-shaped armor to the extreme. Like its predecessor, the MKIII is still sonorous when in motion, making it equally unusable for stealthy combat. However, no matter where the current Space Marine wearing the MKIII Power Armor appears, the glorious history he represents can always stir up high morale in the hearts of his companions around him.

MKIV Extreme Power Armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

At the time of the Great Expedition, the Empire's technology and national power had also reached its peak, and the MKII power armor worn by the Space Marines was also depleted due to the long-term campaign at this time, and some legions chose to build the production line and maintenance facilities of the MKII power armor on the spot to maintain combat effectiveness, but the Mechanics were not satisfied with this. One of the most advanced types of power armor - MKIV - was introduced at the most glorious moment of the Empire, and it was given the glorious name "Extreme".

The appearance of the MKIV power armor has changed greatly compared to the previous model, it abandons the assembly structure of multiple ring armor pieces, and replaces it with a combination of large rigid armor plates and flexible joints, which makes the freedom of movement of this type of armor slightly reduced, but the production and maintenance performance is greatly improved, considering that the weight of this type of armor is also greatly reduced compared to MKII, the flexibility of MKIV power armor movement is actually stronger than that of MKII, and such an improvement does not sacrifice the protective performance of the armor. The Cult of the Mechanics has been instrumental in the recovery and research of Dark Age technology.

The new protective design allows the cables on the chest and arms to be safely placed on the surface side of the armor, and the use of new materials reduces the weight and volume of the cables. The backpack is more integrated, lighter, and more efficient, and the exhaust exhaust device has been improved to closely resemble the MKVI and MKVII models widely used today.

The helmet of the MKIV Power Armor is completely new, and many of its features are derived from the MKIII - the wedge-shaped frontal armor and the helmet that rotates with the head - but is undoubtedly more complete than the MKIII. Various improvements show that during the Great Expedition, the Empire's Cult of the Mechanics made new breakthroughs in the sealing of movable joints, neural connection systems, and the application of new materials.

The MKIV Power Armor is considered to be the ultimate and most complete power armor (i.e., it no longer needs to be improved) and can provide excellent protection for the wearer in any environment. In the 31st millennium, at the beginning of the Great Horus Rebellion, many legions had completely replaced the MKIV Power armor or abandoned some of the latest models in exchange for it. Due to the mass production that took place before and during the Horus Rebellion, the MKIV type power armor is by far the most common type of power armor that survived the Great Expedition and Rebellion era and remained in service until the 41st millennium.

Sadly, this type of power armor is also heavily used by the rebel legions, and the traitors who have escaped to the Eye of Fear are usually left to survive on what little possessions they brought with them when they fled ten millennia ago, but they can sometimes get some newer power armor parts (usually from loyal Space Marines they brutally killed) and use them to repair their broken MKII and MKIV. The Emperor's loyal servant, the Space Marines, is the polar opposite, and each set of MKIV-type power armor is carefully maintained and awarded to those who excel in battle, an uncommon honor.

MKV anti-chaos power armor

Astarte Monk Power Armor

At the time of the outbreak of the Horus Rebellion, the refitting of the MKIV-type power armor of the Space Marine Legion had not yet been completed, and it was a pity that most of the legions wearing MKIV-type power armor had defected to the rebel side, while the loyal Space Marines were still wearing the old-fashioned MKII. Due to the devastation caused by the war and the fact that the expeditionary force was forced to retreat, it was almost impossible for the large corps to receive any supplies during the march. The MKV Power Armor was developed by the Legion's Technicians and Technical Sergeants to solve this problem. It is made of the most basic materials and is extremely easy to maintain. Its plastic steel and ceramic plates are held together by thick screws, which became its most striking visual feature, and over time it has become a tradition to install screws on the helmet, shin armor and left shoulder armor. Due to the fact that the latest and most advanced MKIV has become unsustainable due to lack of supplies, the MKV has been designed to be a highly compatible style, and both new and old power armor parts can be used to repair MKV-type power armor as long as they are still available. Assembling with older, bulkier pipes almost inevitably left a weak link in the armor's protection, so technical sergeants often attached an extra layer of armor to the basic armor piece with screws, which is where the "most notable cosmetic feature" mentioned above comes from.

Since the MKV is basically a patchwork piece of power armor, its heat dissipation performance has become so bad that sometimes the Space Marines who wear it have to lower the armor's output to mitigate the temperature rise inside the armor. The helmet of the MKV type power armor was modified from the MKIV type, and there was already a prototype of the later MKVII type power armor helmet. After the Great Revolt ended, the vast majority of MKV-type power armor was dismantled, and the dismantled parts were used for the maintenance of other types of power armor, presumably those who survived the Great Horus Rebellion were not interested in keeping this power armor reminiscent of betrayal and civil strife. And their nemesis, the Chaos Space Marines, are still heavily equipped with this power armor. This power armor has witnessed the Empire's darkest moments, but it has also witnessed the Empire's greatest victories and the Emperor's ascension (on the Golden Throne?). As a result, there are still a number of Space Marines who solemnly preserve and use this power armor. However, for the Inquisition Chamber, who knows chaos deeply, these Astarte monks, dressed reminiscent of the Chaos Space Marines, will always arouse their instinctive suspicions.

MKVI Raven Power Armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

This classic power armor derivative dates back to the time of the Horus Rebellion, and was developed by the Mechanics to replace MKIV-type power armor as the new main battle equipment, and to this day, it is still one of the most commonly used power armor models used by Space Marines. The armor's most notable cosmetic features are the bird's beak-shaped helmet and the screw-riddled reactive armor on the left shoulder (autoreactive, I don't know if this is accurate). Similar to the MKV Power Armor, the MKVI Power Armor was designed to be easy to repair and maintain, allowing the Legion to effectively maintain its combat effectiveness during long-term sustained combat. The redundant design ensures that some parts of the armor that are scarce or have a complex structure can be temporarily replaced by some of the more common and rudimentary means, without too much loss of protective performance and movement. Its power line also follows the double-redundancy design. The left shoulder armor retains the characteristics of the MKV-type power armor, and since Space Marines are generally used to using the non-gun-wielding side of their bodies to deal with incoming fire, the left shoulder armor is relatively more vulnerable, so it adopts a screw design that is easy to disassemble and assemble. The MKVI Power Armor is the lightest and most agile of all power armor models, earning it a wide reputation among Space Marines. As a result, while the vast majority of parts are interchangeable with MKVII power armor, Space Marines tend to prefer MKVI when it comes to "jumping" combat with jetpacks, even if they don't actually wear the full set of MKVI power armor - for example, with an MKVII helmet.

The final model of the MKVI Power armor is named after Corvus Corax, the original form of the Raven Guard Legion. The difference between it and the MKIV power armor is not obvious, but a closer look reveals some clues: some of the armor plates are different in shape at the joints, and the material at the flexible joints is thicker than the MKIV, and the shin armor and knee pads are integrated...... Etcetera. The most noticeable difference is between the screw-on left shoulder armor and the helmet. Due to the unique beak-shaped appearance of the helmet of the MKVI Power Armor, it almost inevitably aroused the interest of the Raven Guard Legion, which was already named after the Raven, and the MKVI Power Armor, which was first produced during the Horus Rebellion, was undisputed as the Raven Guard. Of course, in addition to this reason, the heavy sacrifice made by the Raven Guard Legion on Istavan V also gave them a certain priority when it came to acquiring new equipment, and the 19th Legion had to rely on the newly replenished blood to quickly restore morale and combat effectiveness, and once again devote itself to the fight against the rebels. Due to the lack of reliable supply lines for the Legion, the Cult of the Mechanics turned its attention to the more compatible, "patchwork" MKVs before the MKVI power armor was in full production on Mars. In the aftermath of the massacre at the Istavan V landing, the Raven Guard Legion was drastically outnumbered, with many MKVI parts being sent to other legions to repair their MKIV power armor.

MKVII Double-Headed Eagle Power Armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

Also known as the "Imperial" power armor, this power armor is the most common type of power armor available today. The MKVII power armor was developed at the end of the Horus Rebellion, and was produced and distributed as standard power armor for Space Marines for the next ten millennia. It is the culmination of a series of improvements and research based on the MKVI type power armor. By the time the rebel legions invaded the solar system and the decisive battle on Mars was unfolding, the Empire realized that the fall of Mars was only a matter of time. The Mechanica's research team was transferred to Earth, where they continued their work, including the development of a new type of power armor, better known as the MKVII power armor. By the time Horus conquered Mars, the new MKVII Power Armor had been distributed to loyal legions stationed on Earth and the Moon.

The most obvious cosmetic features of the MKVII Power armor are the intimidating-looking sound-breathing grille system on the face, and the Imperial Double-Headed Eagle or Winged Skull Emblem on the breastplate. The insignia on the cuirass gave the MKVII power armor alias the "Imperial" and "Double-Headed Eagle" power armor. During the Great Expedition, only the Sons of the Emperor had the privilege of adorning their chests with the double-headed eagle emblem, a symbol of the empire and the emperor himself, because their original body, Tomone, moved the emperor in a passionate speech, and he enthusiastically preached the idea of perfection among the emperor's sons, who rewarded them with the double-headed eagle emblem. However, after the Legion of the Emperor's Sons had relegated itself to becoming a lackey of the Sariz, the Emperor announced that all remaining Legions of Loyalty had proven that they were also qualified to wear the double-headed eagle emblem on their chests as the rebel legions launched their general assault on the solar system. Since the MKVII Power Armor was developed directly from the MKVI Power Armor, many of their parts can be used interchangeably without even debugging. For example, the helmet of the MKVI Power Armor can be paired directly with the MKVII Power Armor and still work well.

MKVIII Astray Power Armor:

Astarte Monk Power Armor

The fact that the MKVIII Power Armor is an upgraded version of the MKVII Double-Headed Eagle Power Armor, the only new type of power armor developed by the Empire after the Horus Rebellion, reflects the Empire's embarrassing technological stagnation for nearly a decade. The most obvious improvement over the MKVII is the addition of an armor collar, or neck guard, and a more solid armor plate, making the power line better protected than the MKVII power armor. In previous battles, the MKVII proved to be a major drawback, as the helmet-cuirass junction was fragile compared to the rest of the armor, and there was a no-brainer zone on the front (a bullet that hit the cuirass but failed to penetrate could be bounced off by the cuirass and fit into the gap between the helmet and the cuirass). Due to the presence of the neck guard, the helmet of the MKVIII Power Armor needs to be redesigned to match, which makes it difficult for the MKVIII Power Armor to be compatible with older helmets.

The current production of MKVIII power armor is relatively limited, and it is difficult to find its trace on the battlefield in this dark 41st millennium, and a complete set of MKVIII power armor has almost only existed in theory, although there are sometimes a few pieces of MKVIII on the commander of the Space Marine. The MKVIII Power Armor is also not widely distributed, and is mainly issued to Space Marine veterans as a sign of seniority, which means that the vast majority of them fall into the hands of non-commissioned officers and senior commanders. The MKVIII power armor thus became a symbol of authority among the Astarte Order. MKVIII power armor is not yet widespread in the Empire, and it may be centuries before warbands can completely reequip MKVIII.

Rune Armor:

The surface of this armor is engraved with psionic runes personally blessed by the Rune Priest of the Space Wolf Legion (basically the Space Wolf Legion's unique name for the Think Tank Leader). These runes allow the armor to provide the wearer with additional resistance to psionic energy. This type of armor was created by the Iron Priest of the Space Wolf Legion (i.e., the Techno Sergeant of the other warbands), and was officially given the name MKXII Wolf armor by the Mechanicus Cult, although in fact any type of armor can depict such runes, such as the early MKVI armor, which has many variations. The warriors who were awarded rune armor were doubly blessed - not only from the Legion's Iron Priest, but also from the mysterious Rune Priest.

Astarte Monk Power Armor

"Aegis" type power armor

The Aegis Power armor is worn by the Grey Knights, an armed force who serve in the Demon Inquisition, and is a well-made modification, but it is not strictly an entirely new model, but is based on the MKVI, MKVII, and MKVIII models of power armor that are common in the Empire. The entire armor is anointed with holy oil and engraved with sacred prayers, making the will of its wearer indestructible. The Prayer activated by the Grey Knights' powerful psionic powers can effectively protect them from the psionic corrosion of the subspace and the enchanted spirits that pervade it, and it can also disrupt the spells cast by hostile psionics, preventing them from drawing power from their subspace masters. In addition to its psionic effects, the Aegis Power armor is equipped with a blaster weapon, which is similar to the blaster used by the Astarte brothers of the Grey Knights, but with a larger caliber and better manufacturing. These weapons are usually fastened to the Grey Knight's arms to free up their hands to wield those formidable psionic halberds and greatswords.

Terminator armor

The Terminator Tactical Dreadnought Power Armor, or Terminator armor for short, is the best, heaviest, and most adaptable personal protective equipment the Empire has to offer its Space Marines. Its appearance fills the gap in the tactical structure between the dreadnought and normal power armor.

The shell of the Terminator armor is made of a special terracotta steel composite, but unfortunately this armor has been lost in the manufacturing process. The servo-powered system of the entire armor is connected to the user's nervous system through neural excuses, which greatly enhances the wearer's strength and athleticism. They are designed to withstand extremely high firepower, so they can often be seen playing the role of a heavy firepower platform in open areas.

Due to their size, the Terminator can be deployed in a confined combat environment such as the Ship's Corridor, where their Storm Blaster is at its most powerful. Only the most elite First Company of the warbands will be issued with Terminator armor, and only those Space Marines who have earned the Terminator Ankh will be able to wear this rare but valuable armor.

The most common type of Terminator armor today is the Indomitable type, and while a smaller number of older models (dating back to the Great Expedition and Horus Revolt era) are still in service, they are often seen more as a symbol of the glory of a bygone golden age.

The tradition of not wearing a helmet

Many Space Marines (especially non-commissioned officers and officers) do not wear protective helmets in battle, and even those who do do have many who take their helmets off when there is no immediate threat. While doing so would - and obviously would - increase the danger of the Space Marines in battle, it is why many people see it as a symbol of courage, declaring their bravery and contempt for their enemies by not wearing helmets. However, mere courage is a substitute for a fully functional sensor in a helmet, so Space Marines who do so often compensate for this with headphones and vision-enhancing devices (or prosthetic eyes altogether).

When not wearing a helmet, Space Marines are unable to use the sensors in the helmet to perceive the battlefield, and similarly they are unable to enjoy the benefits of the environmental protection and life support systems connected to the helmet, which means that they cannot do so in a vacuum or in a toxic environment. When not wearing a helmet, the Space Marine is unable to send video and text messages to his comrades, but the voice receiver set up at the neckline of the power armor will still work. In battle, a Space Marine commander who dares not to wear a helmet will often inspire the morale and cohesion of his comrades even more because of this bravery.

Of course, in the heat of firefight, it is still wise to quickly put on the helmet. It takes a long time to put on a set of power armor, but it is much faster to change or don a helmet in an emergency. After changing the helmet, it will take a few minutes for the mech in the power armor to adjust to the change, after which the new helmet's sensors and sound system will be available. In cases where the tightness of the armor had to be ensured, the necessary procedures had to be followed, and they would spend a few minutes performing rituals to ensure that the helmet was fully integrated with the armor to form a combat whole.

Of all the Astarte monks, the Space Wolves are the most revered group of the Monks. For them, not wearing a helmet is not just about showing off their prowess, but also about making the most of the unique talent that Wolf Spiral brings to them - their extraordinary sense of smell. Space Wolf warriors can track their targets with their sense of smell or master the rhythm of combat, but this is less effective when wearing a helmet. In the eyes of the Space Wolf, the danger of a headshot without a helmet is far less important than being able to perceive the enemy's position. This ability is so important to them that many people feel uncomfortable when they are forced to wear a helmet.
