Volume 3: The One Who Should Think Thinks Chapter 84:
It is not for nothing that they have this idea, in this barren mountain and wilderness, resources are very scarce, many things are very peculiar, ordinary people may find it difficult to imagine, the first thing that caused their conflict was a very precious thing, but also a very common thing, that is, salt.
The Daming clan dug several salt wells at the edge of the valley, and the salt springs could be drawn from the salt wells, and salt could be made by boiling the salty springs. In the past, there were only two sources of salt needed by the tribes in this wilderness, either made by the people of the Ming clan or trafficked in by merchants outside the mountains.
However, in the past, the final destination of the merchants outside the mountain was also the Qingshui clan's walled city, so each tribe still had to go to the Qingshui clan's walled city to exchange their products for salt. After the destruction of the Shimizu clan, the salt well was abandoned for a time, and the tribes in the mountains were extremely short of salt for a period of time.
Lack of salt means one less way to dispose of and preserve fresh meat, and it is impossible to flavor other foods. Anyway, the fresh meat of the tribes in the mountains will basically be eaten quickly, and it can be preserved for a longer period of time by drying and roasting; more importantly, the body can't stand it, and people's tolerance will decline during long-term labor, and even cause various diseases.
The tribes began to draw salty springs from salt wells and then take them back to drink directly, but it was too laborious to transport them on the steep mountain roads, and then they began to boil salt. But maintaining salt wells is a sophisticated skill that requires a lot of manpower and proprietary tools, and is not something that ordinary clans can afford.
The fish people took the opportunity to occupy the salt wells, they would catch fish, and many times the fish they caught could not be eaten at one time, so they needed to dispose of the salt and preserve it, and they inquired from foreign vendors, and gradually learned how to dig and maintain the salt wells. Of course, it is good that someone can dig a well to maintain and cook table salt, which requires nearly 100 men and women to sustain it.
Although salt is very important, it is not food and clothing after all, and you can't live with salt alone. It is difficult for a single tribe to spare nearly a hundred people to produce salt, and their food and clothing must be supported by the labor of others, and even if there are fish tribes, it is very reluctant to do so. However, after the fish village occupied the salt well, it had more benefits, and the salt produced was not only used for its own use, but also exchanged for goods with other tribes at a high price. The so-called "valence" is a concept of measurement, which indicates the price to be paid in exchange for something.
This cost can be estimated, and if these nearly 100 people do not collect salt, how much they can obtain by engaging in other labor, then they can roughly exchange for the salt they produce, which is the most simple concept among the primitive tribes. Youyu Village did the same at first, but then the price became higher and higher, far exceeding this limit, causing dissatisfaction among other tribes, and conflicts were inevitable.
Youyu Village first pacified several demon villages in the depths of the wilderness and the farthest places where they lived, and promised to exchange salt with them for some special items that other tribes did not have. Then the rest of the strife is between the relatively close human tribes, and Yucun shows an arrogant attitude.
In this case, the only people who have the strength to compete with the fish village are the clans. But the patriarch Qingshan also knew in his heart that if he and Ruoshui were not counted, the clan would not be able to fight Youyu Village. They are such occasional masters, which are not often found in the tribes, and he also traveled to Ba Yuan in his early years, and saw with his own eyes the war between the sons of Ba after the division of Ba Kingdom, and he did not want the barbarian tribes in this area to also fall into that kind of tragic strife and chaos.
Qingshan remembered the legends of the emperors in history such as Taihao, Shennong, and Xuanyuan when they were human emperors, and they all united various tribes to form alliances, resolve disputes, and decide affairs, so Qingshan also wanted to solve them in this way. However, in order to establish a tribal alliance, it is necessary to convince Yucun first, and large alliances must start with small alliances.
It is still difficult for the clan to compete with Youyu Village alone, but coupled with Huahai Village, which is not weak, it is enough to make Youyu Village bow its head and negotiate. Under their call, they can also get the support of other tribes, and on the basis of resolving the conflict in the salt well, they will settle other disputes in the valley, and eventually form a tribal alliance.
Having experienced the scenes of conflict and war, Aoyama knew in his heart that the incident of Shioi was only a symptom and a beginning, and if the conflict was not resolved in the bud, it would lead to a wider and more serious dispute, and even a scuffle between tribes. The fate of many people will be extremely miserable, and many tribes in the wilderness will not be able to withstand such an impact.
There are all kinds of dangers in the mountains, and children in the village are not allowed to run around, but since the bridge was opened, people have come and gone frequently, and the area from the tribe to Huahai Village has become relatively safe. In the area surrounded by mountains, there are mountains as far as the eye can see, and in Baoyu's childhood, the most open scenery he saw was the sea of flowers, which was also the most beautiful scenery he saw in reality.
The reason why he said it was in reality was because he still had dreams. Since entering the primordial realm of cultivation, Baoyu has rarely dreamed of other dreams, but his cultivation is far from reaching the realm of dreamless people, and he will naturally fall asleep in the middle of the night, and occasionally dream when he sleeps. He often had the same dream, but it was always hazy and ethereal, and he couldn't remember it clearly when he woke up.
......
In addition to hunting, raising chickens, and digging kudzu in the mountains, the tribe's main products are elm pods, green oak fruits, hemp and beans. In the mountains behind the village, there are large forests of green oak and old elm, which are gifts from heaven, and hemp and soybean are cultivated by the tribe themselves. However, due to the limited terrain, there is no large area of land around the tribe that can be intensively cultivated, so only a field of soybean surrounded by hemp forests can be carved out on the hillside behind the village.
They also sprinkled seeds of hemp and beans in the surrounding mountains and forests to make them grow in a chaotic manner, which could only be harvested by the wild. The yield and difficulty of harvesting wild seeds are far less than those of self-cultivation. When the bridge was opened, there was a large suitable area on the other side of the cliff, and the tribe had more laborers, and they crossed the cliff and opened up new hemp forests and fields of beans.
Later, the people of Huahai Village also learned to grow hemp and beans, and they opened up fields from the top of the mountain to the bottom, gradually connecting with the fields opened up by the tribesmen. After many years, Huahai Village not only formed alliances with the tribes, but also gradually approached and assimilated various ways of life and various habits through intercourse and intermarriage.
The people of Huahai Village originally had no surname, but later some people took Lu as their surname, while another part of the people took Hua as their surname. The two tribes that were originally very close to each other were assimilated and merged because of a bridge, and the tribe and Huahai Village formed a small tribe in the mountains, with two fields connected to each other.
Li Qingshui in the distance also nodded secretly, the patriarch of the clan, Ruoshan, was indeed one of the most outstanding people in this wilderness. It was under his guidance that Ruoshan was able to cultivate through the first realm, and before the age of forty, he entered the fifth realm. It's a pity that just like the vast majority of monks in the world, it is difficult to enter the Six Realms in his life, and in the past few decades, Ruoshan's cultivation has always been the peak of the Five Realms and Nine Transformations.
Shuigu entered the Five Realms decades later than Ruoshan, but now she is already the Seven Transformations of the Five Realms, and her cultivation is not much different from Ruoshan. Of course, you can't just look at his cultivation when evaluating a person, cultivation is only a personal matter, Ruoshan also has to deal with others, and has various identities and achievements. In Li Qingshui's view, if the mountain makes an alliance with Huahai Village, it can be called frustration, resolving disputes, harmony and light, and dust.
Of course, it was a long time before Huahai Village merged with the tribe into a single tribe. At least in Baoyu's childhood, they were two newly formed tribal villages that were still relatively independent. However, soon after the alliance between the two villages, the dispute over the salt wells in the Wild Central Valley was resolved.
These two villages became a very strong force in the wilderness after forming an alliance, and even if there was a fishing village, it would be difficult to compete with it. Maintenance extension, maintenance and rigorous maintenance require the cooperation of nearly 100 people, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive, which not only affects them to do other things, but also not everyone can do it. So these people need to get more income out of it.
So the leader of the Qingshan team made a suggestion, if any tribe wants to be strict in management, they can come out to bid together, if someone deliberately makes a mess of the offer, then the people of this village must perform to everyone according to this price, so that no one will rob it.
It is not easy for Yucun to draw out nearly 100 people alone, and Ruoshan proposed that he could let the tribes send people to help, and the reward he received was salt. So there were two sources of salt for each tribe, the first was to exchange their products, and the second was to send people to the salt wells to work for payment. On the basis of the settlement of this dispute, the tribes of the barbarians gradually formed a loose alliance that was not too close.
The fields in that valley were clearly divided according to spontaneous cultivation, and the central flat land suitable for building houses was shared by the tribes. Gradually, more people began to build houses there, and the various tribes lived together, and some people began to dismantle the stones from the ruins of the Daming Walled City for their own use.
The Ming Walled City gradually disappeared, and a new, larger complex of buildings appeared in the valley, with small fields staggered in between, and a new bazaar formed in the open space between the buildings, and the number of foreign traders who arrived here gradually increased, and the salt needed by the tribes had a third source.
If there were walls, it would be the prototype of a castle. But all this is only the beginning, in Baoyu's childhood, people have only just settled the salt well dispute, but the changes in the wilderness have begun to appear irreversibly.
Youyu Village did not lose any of the benefits they deserved, in fact, they still enjoyed the greatest benefits due to their own advantages, but the patriarch of Youyu Village and several high-ranking figures in the clan were very dissatisfied. Because in the negotiation of these events, the patriarch of Lu Village, Ruoshan, has been the leader, and the name of the mountain lord has spread throughout the tribes in the wilderness, and he is unanimously respected by the people, as if he is already the leader of the tribal alliance, which is originally the position sought by the patriarch of Yucun!
Although they were dissatisfied and helpless, the high-level leaders of Youyu Village could only endure it for the time being.
Baoyu didn't know much about it, his childhood was carefree and happy, not even realizing the passage of time. Zhu Ming has been worried about Baoyu and is also paying attention to his cultivation, but it is a pity that the mountain god now is no longer as powerful as he was at the beginning, and he can only see his daily behavior but can't secretly sense the changes in his divine energy, so he can't see any clues.
Baoyu doesn't have any supernatural powers, and of course he can't use any supernatural powers, he is just a very healthy and happy child in the eyes of adults. Since Zhu Ming couldn't see the clues, the two masters, Ruoshan and Shui Gu, didn't find anything.
But Baoyu is growing up very healthily, which makes Zhu Ming very surprised and relieved at the same time. When this child was five years old, he had already attained the consummation of the ninth transformation of the first realm, and it stands to reason that he would have been able to enter the second realm of cultivation a long time ago, which would lead to all kinds of hidden dangers. But Baoyu has not entered the second realm, he has been cultivating the first realm, if this is the case, how many times has he turned in the first realm?
The only person in the world who can understand this matter is Baoyu himself, but unfortunately Baoyu hasn't realized anything yet. If you calculate how many turns his initial realm cultivation has, I am afraid that there will be nine hundred and eighty-one turns before and after, which will last several years. But Baoyu didn't enter the second realm for a long time, so Zhu Ming, who was in doubt, suddenly figured out one thing, and finally completely relieved himself.
The reason why Baoyu didn't enter the second realm cultivation was not because no one taught him, nor was it because the cultivation of the first realm was not perfect, the reason was just the simplest truth—that is, he couldn't!
This is a spontaneous, most simple, and well-versed cultivation experience in the Great Dao, and the cultivation of the second realm is the internal organs and bones, and before the growth and development reaches a certain stage, Baoyu will not be able to take that step in this natural state. This is a good thing for Baoyu, avoiding what Zhu Ming is most worried about.
During the long years of sitting, Zhu Ming was also waiting with curiosity - when would Baoyu start to enter the Second Realm of cultivation? Perhaps it was the transition period from childhood to adolescence, when the perception was fully developed, and the various functions of the body also entered the stage of rapid growth. And Baoyu's cultivation in the second realm should be accompanied by the process of gradual development and maturity of the body. If this is really the case, it is equivalent to confirming Zhu Ming's speculation and judgment. Zhu Ming deserves to be the top great master in the world, and his guesses and judgments are completely correct. But Zhu Ming never understood one thing, how did Baoyu enter the initial realm of cultivation in the first place, and how did this natural state appear?
In fact, people are very complicated, and a person's life itself is a very wonderful cultivation, and there is a very deep realm in it, which Zhu Ming doesn't understand, and most people don't understand it.
The first realm is also known as the first light realm, this realm, this realm is actually experienced by everyone, he is the process from the fetus to the mother, the formation period of the baby. At this stage, the baby is separated from the mother's body, in fact, it is already conscious, but it is difficult to get in touch with the information of the outside world, and the feeling is the original self of the person, the beginning of the real person.
At the beginning of people, they have experienced the first illumination, but when they grow up, they will not leave a memory, and this experience is only lurking in the depths of the sea of knowledge. A baby's first glow is an innate state, it does not mean that there are any supernatural powers, and in order to survive in this world, they must open their eyes and hands, and then gradually get out of this state.
For example, Baoyu, his earliest memory started from when the mountain master lit the lamp, and he didn't remember the experience when he was a baby. However, the reason why people are able to enter the primordial realm to cultivate is that they once had it, but the farther and farther they go in the mortal world, it is already difficult to find it.
When people's perception gradually develops clearly, because of various opportunities, they enter the first illumination realm, which is not only a return to the state of a baby, but also a new sublimation, just like water evaporates into water vapor and then condenses into water droplets. At this time, the spiritual wisdom has been opened, and one can take the initiative to explore, experience, perceive, and cultivate, which is what the monk calls the first realm.
There was nothing wrong with letting a sixteen-year-old man and a fourteen-year-old woman from the tribe watch her spin cloth in order to guide them into the primordial realm. And Baoyu is a special case, he naturally awakened or returned to the state of a baby, but with the growth of his perception and understanding of the world, he entered the initial realm of cultivation. Therefore, after the consummation of the ninth transformation, he was still cultivating the first realm, until he also entered the second realm with a natural process.
This is also something that Zhu Ming still doesn't understand, he only knows that Baoyu doesn't know how many turns he has cultivated in the initial realm. Of course, the clansmen did not know Baoyu's condition, but Baoyu became everyone's favorite child, especially after the alliance between the two villages, he was also welcomed by the people of Huahai Village.
Baoyu often went to Huahai Village to see the landscape, and the patriarch Gu Xin told him not to run into the water to play in case of accidents, and also told other clansmen to take care of the child. Baoyu picked up swan eggs by the flower beach, and handed them over to Huahai Village for distribution according to the rules. But every year when the right season comes, Baoyu almost always has swan eggs to eat, and often swan meat to eat, and Pan Gu has also been stained with a lot of light.
The swan eggs in Huahai Village are distributed together, according to the number of picks and the contribution of the clansmen. There are more than 300 people in Huahai Village, of course, not everyone will get a whole egg every time, but Baoyu of the tribe is an exception. Every time Huahai Village divides the swan eggs, no matter how many, he will take out a whole egg and give it to him. This was the promise of the year, because the Gu Xin patriarch said to Baoyu that as long as he agreed to give Huahai Village a rooster, there would be swan eggs to eat in the future.
Aunt Shui asked Baoyu in private, since she had understood the intentions of the people of Huahai Village, why did she agree so happily? Baoyu blinked her eyes and asked, "If the people of Huahai Village can also raise chickens, will the tribesmen have fewer eggs?"
Shui Gu smiled: "Of course not!, but in that case, the eggs are not unique to the tribesmen, what do you think?"
Baoyu replied childishly: "Actually, we don't have enough eggs in our village to eat, but sometimes we have to take them out and exchange them for what I want more." Even if Huahai Village learns to raise chickens, it is the same.
When the tribesmen learn to raise chickens, they can save a lot of effort and have more time and energy to do other things and get more things, and the same is true for the people of Huacun. In this way, everyone has more things, and each of them can exchange more things, so why don't I agree?"
Shui Gu asked curiously, "That's what you think?"
Baoyu: "That's what I saw!"
