Volume Three: The One Who Should Think Thinks 85: Danger

Baoyu didn't think much about it, he wouldn't do complicated reasoning at his age, he just saw the simplest facts. The property of the primitive tribe is always in a state of extreme scarcity, and nothing is excessive, even if you can barely save it, you can exchange it for other things. Only when everyone can come up with more and better things can survival and life be better guaranteed.

Li Qingshui, who was in the distance, heard his words and couldn't help but secretly approve. The truth that Baoyu saw may not be applicable to everything in Li Qingshui's view, but it is completely correct in this matter. If you think that you have more with others, and you think that you have more with others, then you should follow the trend.

Spring went to autumn, time gradually passed another three years, and Baoyu was already eight years old. When he finally stepped from the first realm to the second realm, it was also Li Qingshui who first discovered it, and Baoyu encountered the first crisis test after coming to the tribe in the wilderness.

During these three years, the occasional disputes between the tribes in the wilderness were resolved, and the tribes also established a foothold in the central valley, and more and more exchanges and integrations between people increased. Wakayama was often absent from the village and spent a lot of time in the valley, where the tribesmen built houses as strongholds and sent people to guard them in turn.

Although the village and the tribe have not yet merged into one tribe as they did many years later, and the newly opened fields have not yet been connected, they are much closer than they were three years ago, and intermarriage between the two villages is more frequent. Eight-year-old Baoyu is a lot taller than three years ago, and her body is much stronger, but she is not as strong as other strong men, her flesh and bones are very even, and her appearance is still a little thin and tender.

The azure rattan ring that has accompanied him since he was a child was already a little tight on his feet and neck, and he was taken off and worn on his wrist, which was still a little loose, but it was not slippery. Because the patriarch Shan Ye is often not in the village, he rarely leads the team to hunt now, and the person who leads the hunting team of the tribe is replaced by Bo Zhuang, who still carries a pan gourd every time he goes out to hunt.

On this day, the mountain lord and Pan Gu are not in the village, and the weather is also gloomy, just like the rain that never comes, which makes people panic, as if they are uncomfortable, but they can't tell what is uncomfortable. Baoyu felt very bored inexplicably, and he couldn't keep up his spirits, so he didn't go out to play, and rested early.

In the middle of the night, Baoyu had a rare clear dream. In his dream, he could see nothing but darkness, and instead of being afraid, he felt hunger, thirst, and pain.

After dawn, there was a light rain in the mountains, and after the rain, the clouds cleared and the air was unusually fresh, and a rainbow hung in the mountains. Baoyu ate the swan eggs and swan meat sent by Huahai Village again, and felt refreshed again, the uncomfortable feeling had completely disappeared, and he ran out to play again.

Baoyu walked across the wooden bridge, through a small field of newly opened hemp forest and soybean beans, and left the mountain road into the grassy jungle. This place is between the tribe and Huahai Village, although it is also a primeval jungle, but there are few fierce beasts infested, and it is a relatively safe area, but occasionally there are dangers.

Baoyu often travels back and forth between Huahai Village and the tribe, and an eight-year-old child cannot always walk honestly and only on mountain roads, and occasionally run to the mountains and forests to explore. There are beans in this mountain forest, which are seeds sown by the tribesmen at will, so that they can be planted in the wild and harvested. And soybeans often attract pheasants to peck at them.

Baoyu saw a pheasant flapping its wings on the mountain road, and then ran into the mountain forest from behind. On his shoulder was a sackcloth bag stuffed with treasures he had collected since childhood—several stones like eggs. Baoyu's eyesight is very good, and he can accurately capture the flight trajectory of the pheasant through the shadows of the trees, and find a way through the dense forest.

The pheasant rested on a branch, and Baoyu approached quietly, trying not to make a sound, using the cover of the tree to avoid being detected by the pheasant, and at the same time approaching the downwind position. An eight-year-old child is not yet able to participate in the village's hunting procession, and he learns all of these things naturally, or may be imitating Pang. Pan Gu was already the number one hunter in the tribe, and often played with Baoyu, who had seen how Pan Gu hunted pheasants.

Several feet away, Baoyu felt out a stone and threw it vigorously. The egg-like stone made a beautiful trajectory in the mountain forest, hitting the wing base of the pheasant accurately. The pheasant had one wing broken off and flapped the other wing and struggled to fall into the bushes.

Baoyu did not immediately run over to pick up the prey, and at the moment after the stone hit the pheasant, an arrow suddenly flew from the opposite direction, and instead of hitting the pheasant, it grazed the falling stone in the air, and a string of sparks refracted out, and flew down to the cliff outside the forest. Baoyu shouted in the direction where the arrow came, "Who is it? You almost shot me!"

Baoyu's perception was already very keen, but he had just quietly touched it from another direction, and his attention was all on the pheasant. And the man was already lurking in the bushes, and he was far away from him, so he didn't notice it. The arrow suddenly shot out from the opposite side, and Baoyu learned to judge the trajectory of the arrow's flight since he was a child, and saw that the arrow could not hit the pheasant, if it was not rubbed by the stone and deviated from the direction, and finally fell into the forest but just happened to shoot himself.

Baoyu didn't mean to blame the other party, and the other party shouldn't have noticed him, it was just an accident, but he was really taken aback. It turned out to be a monkey that he had encountered before, and at this time the monkey secretly took the bow and arrow from the village to hunt, which was against the village rules, but it was punished if it was known.

Seeing that the matter was discovered, this person was so mad that he wanted to poison Baoyu. But fortunately, Baoyu was agile and escaped in time, sent it to the village, and asked the villagers to send it down.

In the past three years, Huahai Village has had frequent exchanges with the tribe, and even the daughter of the patriarch Huahai has married the clan's uncle Zhuang. On this day, the patriarch of Huahai went to the tribe to see his daughter, and by the way, he sent some things, including swan eggs and swan meat for Baoyu, and he also specially brought many clansmen with him. Some of these tribesmen are also in-laws with the tribe, while others are sturdy young people, and they go to find opportunities to get acquainted with the unmarried girls of the tribe.

The tribesmen were accustomed to going out in groups, they went early in the morning and returned in the afternoon. As soon as the Huahai patriarch led everyone across the bridge, they heard the movement from the mountains and forests, and when they got in, they saw such a shocking and incomprehensible situation.

Seeing that the Huahai Patriarch and the people from Huahai Village were coming, Baoyu replied unhurriedly: "Uncle Huahai Patriarch, I want to go to Huahai to play today, and I saw a pheasant flying into the forest halfway through, so I chased after it......"

Baoyu only said what he saw and what happened on the spot, and he didn't say much about the monkey's stealing of the clan's bow and arrow. The face of the patriarch of Huahai became more and more gloomy the more he listened, and someone shouted: "Monkey, I didn't send you to hunt today, how did you take out the bow and arrow in the treasury privately?

You know, bows and arrows are the best hunting tools in this tribe, and they can be pulled out at will, once they are accidentally lost or damaged, they are very precious losses, great losses.
