Sun Quan (182 – May 21, 252), the character Zhongmou. He was born in Fuchun County, Wu County (now Fuyang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province). Founder of Sun Wu during the Three Kingdoms period (reigned 229-252).

Sun Quan's father, Sun Jian, and his brother Sun Ce, laid the foundation of Jiangdong in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. In the fifth year of Jian'an (200 years), Sun Ce was assassinated, and Sun Quan succeeded him and became a prince. In the thirteenth year of Jian'an (208), he established the Sun-Liu alliance with Liu Bei, and defeated Cao Cao in the Battle of Chibi, laying the foundation for the establishment of the Three Kingdoms. In the twenty-fourth year of Jian'an (219), Lü Meng was sent to successfully attack Liu Bei's Jingzhou, which greatly increased the territory area.

In the first year of Huangwu (222), Sun Quan was canonized as the king of Wu by Cao Pi, Emperor Wen of Wei, and established the state of Wu. In the same year, Liu Bei was defeated in the Battle of Yiling. In the first year of Huanglong (229), he was officially proclaimed emperor in Wuchang, with the country name Wu, and soon moved the capital to Jianye. Sun Quan is also good at calligraphy, and Zhang Huaijun of the Tang Dynasty listed his calligraphy as the third class in the "Book Evaluation". [2]
