Chapter 8: The Hunter
It's past midnight, the sound of metal rubbing against the ground sounds, and the manhole cover of the sewer is pushed open!
James's hand was already on the holster at his side, leaning back, leaning back in his chair, and while hiding his figure, he patted the somewhat sleepy Curson, and motioned to the figure that peeked out of the sewer not far away!
Corson lowered his body alertly, staring at the man who had suddenly emerged from the ground. Wrapped in a worn trench coat, Curson's hand was pressed against the holster.
The people on the street lowered their heads and walked quickly towards the alleyway between the buildings. Corson was excited, they were about to catch it!
"Stop!" James pushed open the car door without warning, and a beam of light shot out of James's clenched fist on his left hand, and the gun in his right hand was on his left wrist!
"Just there! Don't move!" James, with his shoulder against the door, leaned out of the car with his whole body, and kept shooting to get closer to the 'man' who had stopped!
"Lance! What are you doing!" Detective Cousson suppressed his anger! What was James thinking! Now the other party was just a suspicious guy! Even if he was really a criminal, there was no evidence for the two of them to arrest him!
But Corson still cooperated with his partner. He pushed open the car door and quickly walked to James's other side, sealing off the other's route out of the sewers. The gun had been drawn, and it was aimed at the motionless man with his back to them, relying on the flashlight in James's hand.
"Lance!" Corson lowered his voice, his expression angry and confused, obviously not understanding why his partner had rushed out so early.
James ignored Coulson's grievances. James didn't think he and Curson had the mental capacity to witness the eating of a low-level creature!
"Turn around! let me see your face!" James held his posture, trying to calm his voice. The son of General Reims was nervous. Why? Because James and the aliens had already 'fought' once. One moment a passerby on the side of the road asking for help and hitchhiking, the next moment he became a bloody 'beast'! The reason this 'beast' didn't kill James was because it didn't like bones!
James doesn't put his hopes in the fact that every alien he encounters has the same quirks as Kim, he puts his hopes in the gun in his hand!
"Do as I say!" James ordered the motionless man again, threatening.
"It's him, it's him, it's him!"
This sudden neurotic voice! It's the homeless man!
The dirty face of the homeless man poked out of the gloomy alley, excited...... I said, it's a guy with a nervous problem! The homeless man pointed at the guy in the trench coat and shouted, "It's him! He's wearing the same trench coat! Look! The blood! Doug's blood!"
Although Curson didn't like this mentally ill homeless man, and his words couldn't be used as evidence, Curson, who was reminded of it, saw the mottled black marks on his trench coat! This is the proof of death! Cousson breathed a sigh of relief, it seems that his partner noticed this!
It was a beautiful misunderstanding.
"Do as he says!" Corson's tone hardened, "Stretch out your hand and turn around!" The two detectives exchanged glances as they approached the criminal, "I'll count to three......!"
Red. Even in the dim light, James could still see the guy who suddenly turned around, and the red light in his eyes drew two red lines in the night sky!
"What the hell......" Curson had barely finished his words in a moment of surprise when James's cry interrupted him!
"Don't look him in the eye!"
The beam of light of the flashlight held by James shook and his brain became tense for a moment! Red eyes! The only thing he knew of red eyes was the vampire's enchanting pupils! He didn't know if this red was the same thing, he lowered his head, and his fingers on the trigger tightened!
Shots rang out in the streets after midnight! James fired, and the instinctive fear-driven action didn't work!
The smell of rancid fire rushed towards James! In the general's son's lowered gaze, a blurred figure was hurrying towards him!
A buzzing air explosion sounded, and an electromagnetic explosion suddenly came from Detective Cosen, who had no idea what was going on! Coson's eyes rolled up and forth in the convulsions of his whole body! His body was like a monkey with a bone, and it was so weak that it was on the ground! Coulson was attacked, from behind!
"What are you doing!
A roar that came out of nowhere pulled James out of fear!
Knee!
James's arms quickly moved down, his fingers snapped, and bright red sparks burst out from the muzzle of the gun! In James's sight, the man who was rushing towards him lost his balance in the sound of gunfire, and the bloodstained trench coat slammed into James with a rancid stench!
"Get out of the way! man!" James's shoulders slammed to one side! James, who didn't react, saw only a pair of brown pointy scalp boots as his body rapidly lost his balance!
The 'man' who fell to the ground, squirming on the ground, was eerily dragged behind by James's blasted left leg, 'his' body propped up under the trench coat, and a hoarse hiss came from the bloody mouth that grinned to the root of his ear!
The stranger who suddenly appeared lifted his brown leather coat, took out a square silver wine bottle from his waist, unscrewed the mouth of the bottle, and sprinkled it on the creatures on the ground!
The steaming white mist enveloped each other in an instant, and the sound of red-hot iron being thrown into cold water filled the silent streets!
The stranger turned to look at the stunned James, the stiff silhouette and the Poirot tie (i.e.) on the collar indicating that it was a Union Native-Indian: "Sorry buddy! your head will hurt when you wake up!"
The blue light from the stun gun in the stranger's hand flashed before James's eyes, and James felt a tingling pain in his shoulder, followed by a spasm all over his body!
When James woke up, it was the next morning, and he and Cousson were slumped asleep in their car. Resisting a headache that looked like it was about to explode, James drew his gun. The disappearing bullet proves that last night's events were not a dream!
Moments later, the phone rang in Zack's office at the Grande House, and Zach smiled as he sent another guest to make an appointment, and then picked up the phone.
"James!" Zach's tone was delighted, "I haven't heard your voice for a few days, is it still smooth?"
"No!" James on the other end of the phone didn't seem happy and had no interest in talking nonsense to Zack: "We need to talk!"
"What's the matter, Detective Lance, is there any trouble?" Zach looked at the offices that had been pushed away, and Alice looked at the vampire with a melancholy expression.
Zach motioned for Alice to go out first, holding down the microphone: "Now I don't have time, if you meet a guy who can't solve it, you can ask Anthony." ”
"Hmph!" James on the other side of the phone snorted coldly, "Don't bother the mayor! I'm just morally reminding you that a hunter has appeared in Barton City!"
Zach listened to the hang-up tone coming from the earpiece, frowned, and hung up the phone. Vampires have long thought that the guys who will come because of the rumors will not only be aliens, but also hunters who hunt and kill aliens!
