Chapter 40: The Infiltrating Blake
Section I
After the Halloween dinner, Sauron had just returned to the Slytherin common room, and it was only about ten minutes before Ipicos hurried in.
"All the students gather in the auditorium hall and go immediately." Ibikos loudly declared, "There is an emergency. โ
The Slytherins were a little surprised, but mostly complied calmly, whispering about what had happened as they went.
"What's wrong, Ibikos?" Sauron asked in a whisper, "Looks like something is wrong." โ
"Somebody sneaked into the school." Ibikos lowered his voice as he looked at Sauron, "It's Blake. โ
Sauron's eyes narrowed, which was really unexpected, Hogwarts was surrounded by magical barriers, and the entrances were guarded by Dementors, so it was really surprising that Blake was still able to infiltrate the school.
"What did he do?" Sauron asked as he walked, "Or was it just discovered?" โ
"He destroyed the portrait at the entrance to the Gryffindor Tower, and according to Peeves, he tried to enter the tower, but the portrait refused, so he did it." Ibikos hesitated, "You say, could he be going for Harry?" โ
"I don't know." Sauron shook his head, "I can only be sure that his target is in the Gryffindor Tower, you don't want to move around, after staying in Azkaban for so long, it's likely that his mind is no longer clear, I'm not sure if he will attack you." โ
Soon, the Slytherins arrived in the Great Hall Hall, where Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and students had arrived, many of whom looked confused. Dumbledore and several other professors were there, looking stern.
"The faculty and I are going to conduct a thorough search of the castle," Professor Dumbledore said to the students, as Professor McGonagall and Flitwick closed all the doors to the Great Hall, "for your own safety, I think you may have to spend the night here." I asked the prefects to stand guard at the entrance to the auditorium, and the boys and girls student council presidents remained in the auditorium to take charge of the administration. Report anything to me immediately," he added to Percy, who looked like an important person with a look of pride on his face, "Find a ghost to bring me a message." โ
Professor Dumbledore paused and was about to leave the Great Hall, then said, "Oh, by the way, you're going to need ......" and with a casual wave of his wand, the long tables flew to the edge of the Great Hall and stood against the wall; With one more wave, the ground was covered with hundreds of purple sleeping bags. "Sleep well." Professor Dumbledore said that he had closed the door as he went out. The auditorium immediately resounded with an excited buzz of speech: the students of Gryffindor House were busy telling the other students what had just happened.
"Everybody's in a sleeping bag!" Percy shouted, "Quick, no one speaks!" Lights out in 10 minutes!"
The Slytherins were very well-behaved, gathered in the left part of the hall and didn't scurry.
Sauron saw the three Harry and waved at them, but didn't lean in.
"Go to sleep." Sauron said to Draco and Isabella, "I'm going to find Dumbledore. โ
Draco glanced at Isabella and shrugged, and the two dragged their sleeping bags to sleep, while Sauron and Ipicos left together.
Sauron found Dumbledore outside the side door of the hall, he was with the heads of the four houses, and when he saw Sauron, Dumbledore just smiled and Snape frowned.
"Oh, Mr. Potter, as a student, you should go back to the hall at once." Snape shuffled and looked at Sauron coldly, "This isn't the time for you to hang around. โ
"I don't think so." Sauron glared at Snape viciously, then turned to Dumbledore, "I think I can still help." โ
"Well, I think so." Dumbledore smiled and stopped Professor McGonagall from saying anything, "Well, maybe Mr. Potter can join me to search the tower." โ
"Hmph." Snape snorted coldly and turned away. Sauron looked at his back coldly, smiling maliciously.
The professors split up and searched the entire castle thoroughly, and Sauron, along with Dumbledore, made their way to the two towers on the north side of the castle.
"I don't know if that's the right thing to say," Dumbledore hesitated, "Actually, Severus has been living with guilt and pain all these years. โ
"I don't think so." Sauron glanced at Dumbledore, his face expressionless, "Even if he's really in pain, hmph, he deserves it." โ
Dumbledore smiled helplessly, but didn't say anything.
"My parents died of betrayal," Sauron said coldly, "and I have no reason not to hate him, as I once said, I will kill him sooner or later." โ
"What about Black," Dumbledore asked suddenly, "and you're going to kill him too?"
Sauron turned his head and stared at Dumbledore, guessing his true intentions. After a long time, he asked slowly, "What do you think?" With that, Sauron turned into a black mist and dissipated into the air.
Dumbledore looked in the direction Sauron had left, sighed, and then disappeared in place.
The search lasted several hours, and the entire castle was completely turned over, but no trace of Blake was found, and apparently, he had either left the school or lurked on the side of the Forbidden Forest. Sauron and Dumbledore returned to the halls, Snape was patrolling with him, and Patsy, Ibikus, and the other prefects were talking to him.
"Headmaster," Snape whispered, "the entire fourth floor has been checked, and he's not there. Filch checked the main castle building, and there was no one there. โ
"Where's the Astronomical Tower? Professor Trelawney's room? Where do owls roost?" Dumbledore asked.
"I've checked it all...... There is no indication that Blake ever stayed there. โ
"Very well, Severus," Dumbledore glanced at Sauron, "I didn't really think Black was going to stay. โ
"How did he get in, do you have any insight on that, Headmaster?" Snape asked.
"Many, Severus, each one is as impossible as the one below."
"You remember our conversation, Headmaster, just before the start of the semester, right?" Snape said, barely opening his lips as he spoke, as if he didn't want Percy to be part of their conversation.
"Remember, Severus." Dumbledore said, his voice with something like a warning.
"It's likeโalmost impossibleโthat Blake couldn't get into this school without his help, and I did express my concern that you appointedโ"
"That's true, isn't it?" Sauron interjected with a sneer, "If Black was loyal to Voldemort, maybe some people would be more than happy to help him, wouldn't they?" โ
Snape glared at Sauron viciously, his eyes narrowed, his cold voice revealing anger, "So, are you hinting at something, Mr. Potter?" โ
"I think I've made it clear enough," Sauron and Snape looked at each other, "maybe you want me to be more blunt......"
"I don't believe there's a single person in this castle who would help Blake in." Dumbledore said sternly, interrupting the two men, his tone making it clear that this was the end of the matter, so both Snape and Sauron were silent. "I have to go to the Dementors," Dumbledore said, "I said we'd let them know when we searched them." โ
"Are they going to help, sir?" Snape said.
"Oh, yes," said Dumbledore coldly, "but I'm afraid that as long as I'm the headmaster, they won't be allowed to cross the threshold of the school." โ
Dumbledore turned to leave, and Sauron and Snape watched him walk away, after which Snape gave Sauron a cold look and turned away.
"Hmph." Sauron sneered, and walked in the direction where the Slytherins were resting.
In the days that followed, everyone at school was talking about Blake. Theories about how he got into the castle are getting more and more mysterious, but mostly insignificant.
Lupin was ill, and now that Defence Against the Dark Arts class was being taught by Snape, Snape's long-standing wish had come true. In his lesson, Snape skipped the current pace and was obsessed with explaining about werewolves. This caused the vast majority of the students to complain, to which Sauron simply sneered, and it seemed that Snape was very wary of Lupin.
Soon, though, the students' attention was diverted and the House Cup Quidditch was just around the corner. The first race of the year was between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, and for that reason, Harry was busy training all day.
Originally, Professor McGonagall strictly forbade Harry to train at the Quidditch pitch because of Blake's infiltration of the castle, much to Harry's annoyance. In desperation, Harry went to Dumbledore, and in the end, the old professor replied that Harry could go to training, but Sauron had to accompany him as a safety guarantee.
At the Quidditch pitch in the evening, the dusk sunlight shines on the horizon, stretching the shadows of people long. Sauron sat in the stands on the sidelines of the court, watching Harry and the other Gryffindors practice their battles. Harry flies well, rolling through the air with a broomstick, dodging Bludgers, and skilfully chasing the Golden Snitch.
Isabella sat next to Sauron, and she saw that Sauron's face was slightly sad and melancholy, and asked in a low voice, "Do you have something on your mind, Your Highness?" โ
Sauron didn't look back, he took a deep breath and narrowed his eyes.
"Perhaps, he was like this back then, riding a broom with his friends in the sunset, chasing the golden snitch." Sauron looked at Harry and whispered, "Maybe he didn't expect to die at the betrayal of his friends." โ
Isabella bit her lip and wanted to say something, but she didn't open her mouth after all.
The pitch was getting darker and darker, and the dim sunset in the distance had mostly sunk below the horizon. Harry and the others stopped training and all hit the ground, and Sauron got up and walked off the stage with Isabella.
"Great flying, Harry." Sauron patted Harry on the shoulder, "You must be hungry. โ
"yes, I think I can eat a cow." Harry was smiling happily, he had played really well today, and he was able to catch the Golden Snitch very quickly every time.
"Thank you, Sauron." Wood enthused, saying that he was the captain of the Gryffindor team, "Thanks to you, otherwise Harry wouldn't have been able to train, you know, it would have had a huge impact on our teamwork and performance. โ
"Hehe, you're so polite......" Sauron didn't finish his words, and suddenly, he turned his head and squinted his eyes to the edge of the court, which was the direction of the Forbidden Forest.
"What's wrong?" Harry asked uneasily, Sauron's watch making them nervous, "Did something happen?" โ
Sauron frowned and didn't speak, and after a long time, he exhaled, "It's nothing, maybe I'm wrong." Now, let's go back, or we're going to miss dinner. โ
