Chapter Twenty-Eight: The Mobile Workshop
After returning to the chapel, Lulunaka seemed to settle down at once. No more tossing Julius, nor bothering others with her troublesome whims. She now spends her days concentrating on the wagons that she had dismantled to pieces. The last time she left, the carriages she had dismantled with a hammer and saw were still in a state of unused use, except for a chassis that had been left behind. In the days I came back, there was always the sound of hammers and saws pulling from the warehouse.
Occasionally, when someone passed by, Lulunaka could be seen sitting on the carriage chassis that had been erected high, wielding a hammer in her hand or pulling a saw, day or night. No one knew why she had torn down a carriage and left only the chassis and erected it. It's impressive that she's always humming strange songs out loud while she's doing the work at hand that no one knows what she's going to do.
"One nail, two nails, knock fast, knock fast, one without a nail cap, one without a pointed tip, it's funny, it's funny......"
The way she sings is a little cute, but considering her usual behavior, and the age that no one can guess under the girl's skin, it seems a little weird. Apo wasn't surprised, and every time he passed by as if he hadn't seen it. Pattin, Olga, and Julius, when they saw Lulunaka like this and the singing voice as they passed, it was as if they were seeing something incredible, as if they were avoiding something unlucky.
Only Romeona, as long as she had nothing to do, would stop, find a staircase and sit down, watching Lulunaka do something inexplicable in her eyes. At this time, Romeo Ona is not alone, and Lulunaka's dog Ward is by her side. The lazy dog was always crouching at Romeona's feet, and his listless appearance made people worry if he was sick. But after being together for so long, Romeona is more familiar with Ward, it's not that it's sick, it's just this kind of personality - if an artificial alchemy dog has such a thing as spirit and vitality.
"Although this carriage is in the way here. One day Romeona asked, and by this time Lulunaka had laid the carriage chassis flat on the ground and continued to sit on it and hammer it, and the chassis was no longer visible: it had been made wider and thicker. "But why did you go to the trouble of dismantling all these wagons, if you wanted to throw them away, there was a better way to deal with them. β
"Why do you want to do such a trouble?" Lulunaka replied to Romeoona's question, continuing to swing the hammer, the small hammer in her hand hammering rows of nails into the planks, so that the two planks were tightly glued together. This makes the chassis thicker. "Because I needed some tools, and I didn't have the materials available, so I did. I don't think you mind if I tear these things into pieces, do you?"
Romeona shook her head, "It's not of much use to me anymore, it's just something in the way for me, and...... Feel under the weather. β
"Can you feel it?" Lulunaka turned to look at Romeoona with a rather pleasant smile on her face, "Can you tell me what you feel?"
Romeona hesitated for a moment before answering Lulunaka's inquiry, "Dead man's ...... Bitter sound. β
"After all, it's blood, and it's the blood of dozens of people. Lulunaka didn't look surprised, and she didn't take Romeona's words as bluffing, "It's just that ordinary people can't feel it, unless it's a very strong curse item, it won't have any impact on life." But your words are different. When you can feel this kind of thing, do you feel that the whole world has become a little different?"
"Is that a funny thing?" asked Romeona.
Lulunaka looked at Romeoona, still smiling on her face, "Isn't it scary?"
Romeona shook her head.
"That's fine. "If you think the last dregs of these people are terrible, it's a pity for you and for the dead." β
"Pathetic?"
"Yes, poor. Lulunaka continued, "Is the last thought of the dead really terrible? Isn't it the actions of the living that are even more terrifying?"
Romeona didn't know how to answer. When it comes to the dead and the living, which side of the horror is the same, she thinks it's the same.
The conversation ended unconsciously. Luluna and Romeona's usual way of getting along with each other has always been like this, cycling between asking and answering.
After a few days, Julius, who happened to pass by, was stopped by Lulunaka. Julius lowered her head and tried to pass by as soon as possible, but was caught by Lulunaka's gaze. "How's it going, boy?"
Since he was caught, Julius naturally didn't want to ignore it and walk over directly, otherwise with Lunaka's temperament, I don't know how she would take revenge on herself. "What's wrong?"
"I want to ask, how many people can you deal with at the same time?" asked Lulunaka, the hammer in her hand still not stopping, and the carriage chassis she was constantly beating on had pretended to have a few more wheels, and the planks on the chassis had been erected to enclose her. Julius couldn't see Lulunaka, only her voice - so how did she pass by herself?
Julius didn't know what to say to Lulunaka's question, "I don't understand what you mean. β
"Fool, I'm asking you if you can kill them all if there are dozens of people besieging you. Lulunaka continued. "Or I ask more succinctly: would you have died or lived without Olga? β
Lulunaka's words made Julius's face turn ugly, but he wasn't angry, rather, he didn't have the qualifications to be angry, "I don't know...... But if you run and run, and deal with a few more people, I think it's still okay. Julius replied truthfully, though he didn't know how many people he could really handle. In this cape's chapel, apart from Romeona, everyone else could handle him with just one hand, whether it was Olga, Pattin, or Apo - and Julius realized this acutely in the training and guidance that continued after his return. And of the three, Apo made him feel the most powerful and suffocating pressure. This man, maybe he doesn't have to get started, he can beat himself to a blue nose and swollen face.
"You're pretty objective about yourself. "But it's a little too unconfident, it's the same as pride, going to two extremes." β
Julius frowned, Lulunaka wasn't complimenting him, absolutely not.
"If that's dozens of Bronze Rank warriors, then why don't you kill them all and run away?" Lulunaka continued, "From what I've seen lately, you should be able to do it. Although you are sometimes naΓ―ve and infuriating, since you can defeat a skilled warrior of the Black Iron Class, you will not have to run away against dozens of people. Of course, if it is a warrior of dozens of silver, it will naturally run. Lulunaka laughed.
"You...... Observing me?" Julius was going to say you're peeping, but it doesn't seem appropriate to think about it. It is no secret that he is now exercising himself under the guidance of Olga and others. It's just that he's a little unaccustomed to it, and he can't imagine that Lulunaka, who doesn't seem to be interested, actually keeps an eye on herself.
"Is that something surprising?" Lulunaka said with a curious expression, "I know you very well, I can remember the number of times your sword fell out of your hand every day, and even how many times you went to the toilet a day. β
Seeing Julius' inconceivable and panicked expression, Lulunaka laughed again. "What a fool, is that scared?"
Hearing Lulunaka's laughter, Julius reacted, "You're teasing me. β
Lulunaka just laughed and didn't say anything. Julius felt that she might not be able to cope with this Luluna who didn't know what was going on in her head for the rest of her life, and continued to stay here only to continue to be played with by her as a toy. Julius turned and walked away.
Lulunaka shouted at the back of Julius as he departed, "Come on, little hero, or you will soon be overtaken." This world is unfair, people with talent will always go faster and farther than you!"
Whether Julius heard it or not, and whether he wanted to hear it or not, Lulunaka finished speaking. "By the way, I wasn't kidding you, that's the truth. Finally, Lulunaka added.
After a while, the hammer and saw that Luluna Ka, which had never stopped, finally stopped sounding one day. What appeared in front of everyone's eyes was a large horse-drawn carriage. The carriage was nearly twice the size of a freight carriage, with multiple sets of wheels, a thick, repainted exterior, a driver's seat for three people, and a seat above the carriage β it seemed like it would be quite a struggle to pull it with only two horses. However, the two horses that were left in the chapel were well cared for, and they were good horses of upright prime, so it would not be too much of a problem to pull such a carriage forward.
No one knew when Lulunaka had completed such a carriage, and until yesterday no one had heard a single thing from her lips about it, and it seemed that she had left in the carriage and had not returned to the chapel this morning. She was still present at supper last night, so it seemed that she had left in the middle of the night in the carriage, and no one knew what she had done.
Lulunaka sat in the driver's seat and waved to the crowd who heard the commotion, "Good morning, everyone! She got out of the driver's seat and happily patted the horse next to her on the buttocks. "After that, this is my mobile workshop. β
Above the carriage, a puff of smoke drifted up from the inside of the carriage.
