Chapter Twenty-Five: Marina and Lulunaka
The door of the cage was not locked, and there did not seem to be a lock that could lock the cage full of bones in such a place. But it's already such a world away from the ground, and it doesn't seem that there is a need to lock such a thing to restrict the people inside from leaving this small space - if the bones inside can still be considered human.
Now, in that pile of bones, the only one who can still be said to be human, and seems to be alive, is the woman who has her eyes gouged out. She moved slightly, and her body, which was lying on the white bones, slowly propped up her upper body, and the black hole without eyeballs looked at Lulunaka.
Lulunaka had no intention of going in, not because she was afraid of the eyeless face that looked a little scary, but because of interest. She stood outside the cage, as if admiring something, and looked at the woman inside. "It's still alive, yes, even if a human loses a limb or an organ, it doesn't necessarily die, it's just that it doesn't have a pair of eyes, and if it does, it's too fragile...... Maybe I can't say that, human beings are still very fragile, and if they don't take good care of them, they will indeed die from injuries of this magnitude. β
Lulunaka pointed the lantern at the woman's face and examined it carefully, "But did you survive because of luck, or did you not die so easily?"
"Not on either side. The woman's mouth opened and she made a hoarse sound. She got up from the ground and slowly walked over to Lulunaka, "I chose to be here, and then paid a price. But the cost is worth it. She came to Lulunaka, the iron frame of the cage separating the two, "After paying all these costs, I finally let me see you." β
Lulunaka touched her chin and pondered for a moment, then let out a surprised voice, "I see, that's how it all went! You are the source, and you have used something very important and precious to draw me here." My nose isn't very sensitive, but if it's some kind of magic reaction, I can follow the taste. β
"Is that magic or something else to you?" the woman's face rested against the cage, her eyes turned into black holes looking at Lulunaka, "remember me?"
"Of course I do. Lulunaka didn't hesitate or play stupid, "Long time no see, Marina." β
It wasn't a distant memory for Lulunaka, she didn't have to forget it, but she couldn't forget everything she had experienced, even anyone else's. More than ten years ago, the innocent female mage who came to the underground world of King's Castle with her teacher's secret to obtain the treasure reappeared in front of Lulunaka. It's just that this reunion is no longer the same atmosphere as before. Lulunaka is still the same Lulunaka as before, but Marina is no longer the female mage she used to be...... She had become an emaciated woman with her eyes gouged out, a pair of hands clutched at the cage, pale and thin, and she could already see the bones beneath her skin.
"How did you make yourself like this? Lulunaka had a smile on her face and a very regretful tone, "I gave it to you in the first place...... I think it's an hourglass, and that thing should be a treasure that can make your life go smoothly in the future. Speaking of which, Lulunaka glanced at Marina, "Isn't that too heavy for you?"
Whether Luluna gave Marina a treasure or a malicious curse is no longer important to Marina. Her hand grasped the iron frame of the cage and slowly moved up until it reached the height of her shoulders, "What you gave me changed my life...... But that's in the past, and if I had been obsessed with the past, I probably wouldn't have appeared in front of your eyes. She spoke slowly, "Stuck in the past...... I've been freed from that temptation, and it's a beautiful dream, but it's also a test. I've passed that test, and I don't look back at the past anymore. I...... I see the future. β
If someone else were standing here, Marina would probably be taken for a lunatic. She looked so pitiful and miserable, a woman so thin that she was reduced to bones, muttering that she could see the futureβsuch a woman, just mad because her eyes had been gouged out and she had been tortured too much.
But if Marina wasn't crazy, what should she think of every word that came out of her mouth?
On Lulunaka's smiling face, she couldn't tell what she was thinking.
"See the future. Lunaka's eyes narrowed slightly, "That's amazing, Miss Marina." It's hard...... No, it's painful, maybe you become confused and delirious in such torture, and you might be a little happier. β
Marina shook her head and didn't answer. Lulunaka nodded as a matter of course, "That's right, if that were happiness, you wouldn't be where you are now, maybe you would have died somewhere long ago, and only your soul is still dreaming." β
Lulunaka reached out and reached for Marina's hand. "What do you see now?"
When her hand reached out, Marina reached out as if she saw her movements, and reached out to Lulunaka's hand, but her eyes were gone, and she shouldn't have been able to respond like this. "I saw ......"
While Lulunaka and Marina are talking, in the other half, the battle between Gendina and the Worm continues. Or rather, it's the end.
On a hill formed by ruins, Gendina lay on the high place, hunched over and let her wings flutter on her back. Her massive wings flapped a flaming wind that blew in all directions, destroying the swarms of insects in the air. Beside her, waves of frighteningly dense swarms of insects were constantly flying towards her, like moths to a fire, turning themselves into ashes in the air.
The wormman was gone, and what Zhendina was holding under her paws was its staff. The blue Rubik's Cube at the front of the staff was missing a large chunk, and it was dim, and even the faint light was gone.
Her iron-boned wings were fanning the gale, destroying everything in the air. The swarms of insects swooped down on her feet, and the hill of ruins beneath her was already crawling with dense larvae, wriggling at an astonishing speed, crawling towards Zhendina.
These sapient creatures, driven by something, rushed towards the fire of Zhendina and were burned to the ground.
Zhendina let out a roar, and the blue energy in her body lit up, flowing through her veins, gathering into her mouth, and then being squirted out. The light that erupted from her mouth formed a flickering ball of light that vanished in an instant, but the light dispersed around, and the impact of the explosion tore the swarm to pieces and spread all over the ground. The explosive ball of light swept away all the creatures that could fly in the air, and the surrounding ruins were blown away, except for the hill at the foot of Gendina, and the surrounding rubble was also pushed away, forming a circular clearing. Luckily, Jessica was far away from the battlefield and didn't become a victim of being blown away, and she lay where she was, and there was nothing left to threaten her - the creature that no longer looked like a real Dina, and the battle with the wormmen was going on far away from her.
The swarm has been completely wiped out, but Zhendina's slender body is still tense, because the insect people have not been completely wiped out.
