Chapter 14: The Facelings
It was another dawn, and after the convoy had rested, it set off again.
As usual, they walked through the forests, through the orchards, through the fields, resting in the villages and towns, and then marching again until dusk.
The only difference was that there was a strange person in the convoy, a man with a black mask that showed only hair and eyes.
Arya was very concerned about this, because she thought it was strange for the man to look at her.
Although many people look at her head and show strange eyes, but that person is different, she asked Da Niu, Da Niu only thinks that the mask that person wears is very strange, and the others don't think there is anything special.
The Big Bull is the nickname given to Romi the Green Hand, as he often wipes a horned helmet, but never wears it.
He had dirty black hair, the oldest of the orphans, and not only had a broad chest and a strong man, but also had arms that were so thick that he didn't look like a child.
Later, Arya asked Da Niu, and found out that his name was Gendry, and he was a blacksmith's apprentice before, no wonder he had such a strong arm, and neither Romy nor Repai dared to mess with him.
The thought of Romy and Repai filled Arya's heart with joy.
Now those two nasty fellows didn't dare to provoke her, because she just beat them both to the point with a wooden sword.
Although Uncle Yuren was knocked red on the ass with a wooden stick afterwards, Arya did not regret it at all.
This is the first time she has not borrowed Stark's name, and has only earned awe and respect for her own strength.
It was almost nightfall, and everyone camped and rested as usual.
After rinsing her cup by the river, Arya turned and walked towards the campfire.
"Boy." A fluttering voice came, "Cute boy." β
Arya turned her head to look at the prisoner cart.
It was one of the three people in chains who were talking to her.
It was a young man with a beautiful face, half red and half white hair, who was now holding up the empty bottle in his hand and smiling at Arya.
"Someone's not drinking water in a long time, someone's a little thirsty."
As he spoke, the man pushed the cup out of the cage.
"Boys can have more than one friend, too."
"I have friends of my own." Arya said warily.
She always remembered Yu Lun's instructions, the three in the prison car were all prisoners dug out of the black prison, and they were extremely vicious.
"I don't see that."
This is said by the one who did not have a nose among the three.
He is very stout, with black body hair on his chest and back, and even his arms, like a talking gorilla.
Romy's biggest fear is him, because he has no nose and his face is very scary.
The other bald man suddenly opened his mouth and lay on the cage, hissing and roaring like a lizard.
The red-and-white-haired prisoner smiled helplessly, looked at Arya and said.
"Someone can't choose their companions, these two are somewhat uneducated, and someone must ask for forgiveness."
"......" Arya's cheeks twitched.
Another weirdo......
Out of Winterfell, the world was full of weirdos, and she was no longer surprised.
"The boy's name is Ali?"
Arya nodded.
"Someone is honored to be Jakun Hegar, from the free trade city-state of Rollas."
Jaqun said with a smile.
"Less, little brat! Bring me some beer! β
The guy with no nose on the side said with a cruel smile.
"You should be more polite!"
Arya was a little angry.
"Hurry up and get some beer, or I'll stick your ** with the stick in your hand!"
The noseless guy grabbed the cage and grabbed Arya with his dirty black hairy hands.
Arya took two steps back in fright, but then remembered what Cyrio had taught her earlier.
Fear hurts more than a sword.
Arya forced herself towards the carriage until she reached the prisoner's carriage.
Then the guy without a nose suddenly reached out to grab her, and the hand was very long, and the iron shackles collided with the cage with a loud sound.
But Arya was very calm, and she swung her stick with precision, hitting him hard at the bulge of his least fleshy wrist.
The guy with no nose screamed in pain, then retracted his hand.
"The boy was brave, but not sensible." Jaqun had a strange smile on his face.
Arya looked at them with a frown.
"Fierce as a wolf, stop like water."
At that moment, an equally light voice came from a close distance behind her.
Arya immediately pressed her feet and half-spun around, her wooden sword pointing behind her.
But there was no one there.
Arya was slightly stunned, and then heard Jaquin's strange tone sound from behind her.
"Someone shouldn't be playing tricks on a boy."
Arya quickly turned around, only to see that the strange man who joined the team in the middle of the team was standing in front of the prisoner cart at some point, and the two prisoners who were fierce just now were now obediently staying in the corner and did not dare to make a sound.
"Boy?"
Lin Yi looked at the red-and-white-haired Jia Kun noncommittally, and then glanced at the two people in the corner.
Does it look like a beast, so its senses are closer to a beast?
"Someone scared Rolger and Fangs."
Jia Kun said with a smile, and then explained.
"The one without a nose is called Rolger, and the one with fangs is called 'fangs', this is someone getting a name, people must have a name, right, fangs can't speak, so ......"
Lin Yi glanced at him, ignored his chatter, and reached out to hand over a cup full of river water.
"Someone is grateful."
The strange red-and-white-haired prisoner suddenly turned pale and took the cup.
Lin Yi smiled, he didn't really want to have any in-depth communication with the Facelings for the time being.
So Lin Yi turned around, looked at Arya with a vigilant face, and said with a chuckle.
"Quiet as a shadow, light as a feather, swift as a snake, as fast as water, as soft as silk, as fast as a rabbit, as slippery as an eel, as strong as a bear, as fierce as a wolf, and as immobile as a stone."
"How do you know!" Arya's eyes widened and she blurted out subconsciously.
"It's the mantra of the water dancer, and I'm going to ask you, how do you know, little ...... Boy? β
Lin Yi looked at her with a smile.
He knows the mantra of the water dancer!
Arya's heart pounded and she wanted to ask if he was Braavos' swordsman, but she held backβit occurred to her that Ali, an orphan in the flea nest, couldn't have known the water dancer's mantra.
Lin Yi squatted down, looked at Arya and chuckled, "It's good, but it's too late......"
"Anyone who is smart can hear something from your slip of the tongue - you should always be vigilant, even if it is the most unexpected situation, you must always maintain the correct first reaction."
As he spoke, Lin Yi reached out and rubbed her messy hair.
Arya looked at Lin Yi with a slightly stunned face, as if she didn't understand what he was saying.
Suddenly, Lin Yiyi stretched out his hand and pinched the thin sword that was silently stabbing at him, looked at Arya and smiled with satisfaction.
"You can teach."
Arya's eyes widened, and she felt as if her "sewing needle" was being clamped by an iron tong, unable to be sent in or withdrawn.
What to do?
She's dead!
Yulun, who had been paying attention to this side, hurriedly stepped forward, picked up the stunned Arya, and muttered loudly as he walked towards the woods.
"How daring! I said that after entering the Night's Watch, everyone is a brother, and if you attack your brother again, I will use double my strength against you! β
"Let go of me!" Arya was clever in her cooperation, struggling as she tucked her rapier into her waist.
No one in the camp cared about the movement here, because Yuren had already violently disciplined the orphans in the convoy more than once, and now even the naughtiest children did not dare to do anything to their companions.
Lin Yi had already let go of the hand holding the sewing needle in time, and chuckled and watched Arya leave.
At this moment, an empty cup was handed to him.
"Someone is grateful."
Jaqun said it again.
Lin Yi took it with a smile, but his eyes were still looking in Arya's direction, and he said as if he was asking.
"A very gifted child, isn't he?"
