32. The Past of Harmony (Revised Version)
Reilly spat viciously on the ground, and after Qin Xiaoluan walked away, he ran over and caught the blind fortune teller.
As a wandering stall fortune teller, he was entangled by the local ruffians, and after some coercion and temptation, he told the whole story.
The pendant that the little lady was wearing just now was not an ordinary ornament.
What is it? I told you, but don't get it out. Otherwise, we will all be in great trouble!
This thing is far from enough to be described by words such as "rare treasure" and "priceless".
That, is, when, now, world, above, most, honorable, noble, east, west!
What the? Is the heirloom jade seal the most noble treasure? Well, you're right.
But it doesn't contradict what I said, you listen to me slowly.
You know the legend of He's Bi, right?
During the Spring and Autumn Period, a jade expert named Bian He in Chu State saw a phoenix falling on a stone in Jingshan, and judged that there must be beautiful jade in it by "the phoenix does not fall into the land without treasure".
Bian He went to see King Chu Li with a stone, and the court jade worker said that it was just an ordinary stone.
King Li was furious and cut off Bian He's left foot for the crime of bullying the king.
King Li died, and King Wu ascended the throne.
Bian He went to see King Wu again to offer treasure, and King Wu ordered Yugong to check it, but Yugong still said that it was just an ordinary stone.
King Wu was angry, so he ordered Bian He's right foot to be cut off.
King Wu died, and King Wen ascended the throne.
Bian He cried bitterly for three days and three nights under Chu Mountain holding the stone, and blood cried out of his eyes.
This is the legend of "Bian and Weeping Jade".
When King Wen learned about it, he sent someone to ask why this was the case, and Bian He replied: I didn't cry that my feet were cut off, but that I cried that Baoyu was ashamed.
So King Wen ordered someone to cut open this stone, revealing a piece of rare jade, and named it Heshi Bi after Bian He.
This is also the origin of He's Bi.
King Wen cherished He's bi very much, and was even reluctant to carve it into a vessel, and treasured it as a treasure of the town.
More than 400 years later, in recognition of the great merits of Xiangguo Zhaoyang, King Chu Wei bestowed the Heshi Bi on Zhaoyang.
Zhaoyang was overjoyed to get this treasure. When I play Akayama with my friends, I take it out and watch it together.
Unexpectedly, after the guests dispersed, He's Bi disappeared.
After more than 50 years, Miao Xian, a native of Zhao, bought a piece of jade at the market for 500 gold.
After being identified by the jade worker, it was confirmed that this piece of jade was He's Bi, which had been missing for many years!
When King Zhao Huiwen heard about this, he sent someone to take it for himself.
This matter was known to King Qin Zhao again, so he sent an envoy to King Zhao to say that he was willing to use fifteen cities in exchange for He's Bi.
The idiom "priceless" is an allusion to this.
King Zhao was intimidated by the threat of Qin and sent Lin Xiangru to envoy Qin.
After the king of Qin got the Heshi Bi, he began to play hooligans, and completely avoided talking about the city.
Lin Xiangru designed to deceive He's Bi and sent someone to send it back to Handan overnight.
This is the story of returning to Zhao.
Look, just such a piece of jade has triggered so many major historical events, which shows how precious He's Bi is.
And that's not all.
Later, Qin Shi Huang unified the six kingdoms and obtained the Heshi Bi.
I thought about this piece of jade for several days and came up with a good idea.
Then he found the best craftsmen in the world, carved He's bi into a jade seal, and at the same time ordered Prime Minister Li Si to personally engrave the eight characters on the seal: "Ordered by the sky, both longevity and eternal prosperity".
From then on, the decrees issued must be stamped with this seal, which is considered justifiable. This jade seal carved from He's bi has become the world's first treasure and a symbol of orthodox imperial power!
These are all allusions that have been recorded in the history books and recited by future generations.
But there is another thing related to the jade seal of the country, which very few people know.
After having the jade seal of the country, the suspicious Qin Shi Huang thought of a question: what if someone took advantage of his inattention and secretly stamped the big seal?
Under normal circumstances, no one would dare to do this.
But if you get sick in the future, or if you are old and confused, this is a big problem.
I thought about it for several days with the jade seal of the country, which symbolized the highest power, and he really came up with a good idea.
Where there is jade, there is jade essence.
What is this jade essence? To put it simply, it is the purest essence of the whole jade.
Where is the jade essence of Heshibi?
This point was thought of by the jade workers as early as when it was carved into a jade seal.
The lower part of the jade seal is a square seal. That is, the side of Liss lettering.
On the top of the seal, there is a knob, which is easy to hold.
This knob is also very particular, carved with a tiger.
What is a tiger? He is one of the nine sons of the dragon, neither dragon nor tiger, both dragon and tiger.
What it represents is divine martial arts, strength, power, and a kingly demeanor.
The jade essence of He's Bi is in the belly of the tiger, and it is only a piece the size of a soybean.
Qin Shi Huang ordered Prime Minister Li Si to take charge of this matter, took out the jade essence in the belly of the tiger, carved it into a jade seal with the same pattern and texture as the jade seal, and carried it with him and never left his hand. He also made it clear to the crown prince and several important ministers: When there is a large army movement and a major holy decree, it must be stamped with the jade seal of the country to be sure that it is correct.
The crown prince Fu Su Gang was resolute, brave, benevolent, politically far-sighted, and won the trust of the people.
He advised the First Emperor about burning books and pit Confucianism, and angered his father, so he was sent to supervise the army and assist the general Meng Tian in building the Great Wall to resist the Xiongnu.
When Qin Shi Huang was paraded, he was seriously ill when he reached the sand dunes, so he ordered Zhao Gao to write a testament.
The content of the edict was to let Fusu hand over the military power to the general Meng Tian, return to Xianyang to preside over the funeral and inherit the throne.
The problem is that this Zhao Gao was originally a traitorous minister, and Fusu has always been very dissatisfied with what he did. It's just that he is taking the majesty of his father, so he doesn't care about it for the time being.
Now His Majesty asked Zhao Gao to write a posthumous photo, and Zhao Gao thought that if Fusu succeeded to the throne, it would definitely be unfavorable to him, so he went to find Prime Minister Li Si.
At this time, Qin Shi Huang couldn't stand it anymore, and his legs were whimpering.
This Li Si was originally just a small clerk, although he was full of ability, but if he didn't meet someone who knew the goods, he would be mediocre all his life.
He was lucky, though. followed the right person, and after facing Qin Shi Huang, the unborn emperor of the ages, his talents were also fully utilized.
Whether it was in the process of unifying the Six Kingdoms or in the subsequent governance of the world, Li Si was the first important minister of the dynasty.
Many ideas for governing the country were given by him to Qin Shi Huang. Among them is the "book burning and pit Confucianism".
And the burning of books and the pit of Confucianism is precisely the key event in which Qin Shi Huang and Fusu father and son were estranged.
After Fusu succeeded to the throne, Li Si couldn't do anything, but it was impossible to be reused.
However, this was not enough for Li Si, who had always been loyal to Qin Shi Huang, to betray his master.
After all, with the benevolence of the crown prince, as long as he leaves the center of the power vortex and goes home to be a rich man with peace of mind, there is no problem at all.
What's more, I have a very important life-saving thing in my hand.
Therefore, when Zhao Gao approached him and said that he wanted to change the holy decree and help Hu Hai ascend the throne, Li Si unceremoniously refused.
