Chapter VI: The Year of the Empire 226, August 3
The sound of men's leather boots rang out in the streets.
At the sound of this, Mrs. Peggy reflexively stood up, but by the time she could see the man's face, the smile on her face had dissipated for a moment.
"What are you going to do!"
Unexpectedly, Mrs. Peggy would be on duty herself, Oreo was stunned for a moment, and then showed a guilty expression.
"Paige Mom, long time no see."
The obese bustard didn't give Oreo the slightest good look, she crossed her arms and blocked Oreo's steps and sight out of the door.
She looked Oreo up and down, almost cursing.
"You still have the face to come here! Believe it or not, I'm tearing you to pieces! ”
"Can't the past just let it pass?"
Oreo spread his hands, but Lady Peggy was clearly unmoved by her.
"If you stay in front of me, I'll let someone come and dismantle you, and let you go down there and accompany Atifa!"
"Tutan is on top."
Oreo raised his right hand like a devout believer, "I swear that Atifa must be alive and happy somewhere in this world...... At least for her. ”
Worried about the guests who came to the venue, Mrs. Peggy was already trying her best to suppress her emotions.
Even so, the green tendons on her forehead stood up, and she looked terrifying.
"Atifa is alive! Is it alive in the northern wasteland at minus 20 degrees Celsius? ”
"Lady Peggy!"
Oreo raised his voice as well.
"Atifa is my wife, and I love her more than anyone else! I can only be sure that she wasn't devoured by Kutaka, but I don't know where she ended up in this world! ”
The noise at the door gradually attracted everyone's attention, but most of the guests thought it was a dispute over money, so they didn't pay much attention.
Mrs. Peggy gasped violently, she didn't want to bring back painful memories.
She reached out her right hand and pointed at Oreo's forehead, the fat finger as if it was about to pierce Oreo throughout.
"Oreo Plavor, I don't want to listen to your excuses anymore!
Right now! Immediately! Right away! Get lost! ”
"Peggy's mother."
Unlike the annoyed Peggy, Oreo quickly collected the nostalgia on his face and said instead.
"Are you angry that I cut off your ladder to high society, after all, Atifa was the Black Queen of that year......"
Taking off his top hat and placing it on his chest, Oreo said quietly.
"But Mrs. Peggy, as it happens, I just saw your second ladder, and she yearns for freedom just as much as her sister."
He deliberately lengthened his tone and squinted at Mrs. Peggy's expression.
Sure enough, the sad expression quickly disappeared from the philistine woman's face, and the fat figure walked through the hall at unimaginable speed, stepping up to the four-story building on the edge of the backyard in a few steps.
Oreo smiled wryly and followed Lady Peggy up the familiar building.
As the three large locks on the iron door were opened by Mrs. Peggy one after the other, she slammed the thin iron door into the wall, leaving a deafening sound of metal trembling.
"Angelyl!"
Mrs. Peggy stepped into the room and looked left and right.
It was a long time before she was convinced that the room was empty, and that pig-killing sound almost lifted the rooftops of Eleventh Street.
"My Angelyl !!"
Passing over the almost insane Lady Peggy, an indescribable smile emerged from the corner of Oreo's mouth.
His gaze swept across the room, stopping at last on the sheet on the window.
Leaning over to observe the view outside the window, Oreo said sarcastically.
"Lady Peggy, I suggest you make this confinement room a little higher, so that you can't climb down with the two sheets alone."
"My Angelyl!"
Mrs. Peggy gasped and looked out the window, she didn't expect her most well-behaved little daughter to disobey her!
This wolf-hearted little girl!
"Someone!"
Mrs. Peggy screamed for her men, and Oreo stared at her back with interest, the fat figure trembling with rage.
This scene is not evil, but somewhat pitiful.
"Paige Mom," Oreo said in a slowed tone,
"Is there anything I can do for you?"
Hearing this sentence again after seven years, Peggy squeezed the words between her teeth.
"Oreo Pravor, how much more do you want to help me?"
“......”
Oreo smiled guiltily and said tentatively.
"So Mrs. Peggy, I'll leave first?"
Without waiting for Peggy to answer, Oreo took a step towards the door, deliberately putting it loud.
Sure enough, it didn't take long for Mrs. Peggy's head to stick out from the top of the stairs, and she stared at Oreo's top hat and said viciously.
"Damn detective, which direction is Angelil going!"
Oreo stretched out his right hand, rubbing his thumb and forefinger alternately, but the expression under the brim of his hat was not as smug as it seemed.
"Lady Peggy, the news is worth 100 gold, I know it's a bit expensive, but the good news is that it only costs 110 gold to find Angelil."
As soon as he finished speaking, Peggy's men hurried in, and the three of them failed to stop the car and fell not far from Oreo.
Seeing this terrible scene, Lady Peggy closed her eyes and said almost in despair.
"110 gold, find Angelil."
"Smack."
Oreo snapped his fingers crisply and said in agreement. "A good deal."
Just as Oreo thought he could leave, Lady Peggy spoke again, this time in a much hoarse voice.
"Oreo Pravor, remember what you just said."
Oreo was stunned for a moment, he didn't look up, and the expression under the brim of his hat was complicated.
"Madame, of course, I will always love Atifa."
......
It was nearly dawn from Eleventh Street back to Tenth Street.
In the last quarter of an hour before dawn, Oreo wore a light shirt and took a shower in the public bathhouse, but did not wash his hair.
By the time he returned to the office, Cuarón had woken up.
He took the bowl of noodles and raised his hand slightly in Oreo's direction.
Lying in the large chair behind the long table, Oreo said weakly.
"Eat, I'm not hungry."
Caron nodded slightly.
"Young master, it looks like you're going out in the afternoon."
"Yes, big business."
Oreo muttered, and even snoring soon came from the other end of the long table.
It was a peaceful night's sleep, and if it weren't for the unpleasant rumbling sound in his stomach, Oreo felt that he could sleep until the evening.
He rolled over in his chair and heard Cuarón's voice before he could open his eyes.
"Young Master."
Oreo said vaguely.
"Put it there, I'll eat it later."
"Young Master."
Cuarón got closer and closer, and he behaved strangely.
Oreo rolled over impatiently and sat up, and was greeted by a cake lit with two candles, which Cuaron gently placed in front of Oreo and said with relief.
"Young Master, happy twenty-fifth birthday."
Oreo knew what day it was, of course, but he pretended not to care.
"Caron, your aesthetic is still as bad as it was a few years ago."
With a faint smile, Cuarón set aside the boiled vegetable soup, then ripped the coat off the hanger and slipped it into the crook of his arm.
"Young master, there are some businesses that need to be handled, do you need me to wait for you to make a wish?"
Oreo picked up the knife and said nonchalantly.
"No need, business matters."
Cuarón bowed slightly.
"Yes, as you wish."
Hearing the sound of the wooden door closing, Oreo lowered his head and stared at the two candles on the cake, silent for a long time.
"Smack."
The sound of something falling on the carpet suddenly sounded, and in normal terms, it was something that Oreo could not tolerate.
But today is a special day.
I pinched my fingers, I had been in Turin for seven years, and I had known Atifa for seven years.
The sound grew more and more, and no one could stop it.
Oreo ignored the voice, he raised his knife and cut the cake meticulously.
In the mouth, the cake is filled with a sweet cream and a bitter salty taste.
He had no intention of savoring the strange taste, just swallowing mechanically.
