Chapter 1 Shaken
"What does this case have to do with Borg?"
Reka brandished the pistol in his hand with a puzzled expression.
Not long ago, he was dragged out of a crime scene by Oreo.
"Of course it does."
Oreo said slowly.
"We went to Borg's tea room that day, and I remember there was a cross sign on the porch of the tea room, I don't know if you remember."
Without waiting for them to answer, Oreo continued.
"It doesn't matter if I don't know, but the important thing is that I found the same sign at that lumber mill that day, and I suspect it has something to do with Viscount Borg's identity as an architect. It wasn't until just now, at Mrs. Andorra's house, that I finally confirmed this. ”
“......”
Reka spread her hands, "Isn't that just an architect?" ”
Angelil corrected.
"It's an architect who specializes in designing secret rooms, which means that there must be a secret room in that lumber mill, maybe it's a factory for processing poppy fruits!"
"No wonder ......"
Reka gasped as he remembered the strange appearance of the police dog that day and muttered.
"I'm going to gather people, even if it's three feet into the ground, I'll find out the secret room."
"The big guys behind the scenes won't let you do that."
Oreo shook his head, "If it goes well, I'll get two lives there tonight, so you'll have more reason to search...... Waiting for my good news. ”
Reka said with her mouth wide open.
"It's too dangerous, I'll have to go with you."
"You'd better mind your own business."
Patting Reka on the shoulder, Oreo looked in a certain direction.
"Sharman's men have been following you, haven't you noticed?"
"Hiss......"
Hearing Oreo's words, Reka suddenly felt a chill down his spine, and he subconsciously wanted to look in that direction, but was stopped by Oreo.
He leaned into Reka's ear and whispered.
"Don't gather people in advance, but wait for my news."
Reka said fearfully.
"They are not small, you must pay attention to safety."
"If I were afraid, I wouldn't have taken this case."
Buckling his top hat back on, Oreo quickly took Angelyl away.
Oreo didn't say anything along the way, looking preoccupied.
Angelyl didn't think she should disturb his thoughts, so she didn't say anything all the way.
The two quickly returned to the office, and before opening the door, Angelil turned her head warily and scanned the street left and right.
She was thinking that since someone was spying on Reka, someone must be spying on Mr. Oreo, but Oreo didn't seem to care about that.
Following Angelyl's gaze, Oreo said suspiciously.
"What are you looking at?"
"Nothing."
Angelyl quickly turned her head and pulled the wooden door of the office open.
Oreo nodded, he had just walked into the office, but suddenly stopped.
He was stunned for a moment, then whispered.
"Tamia, why are you here?"
Angelyl poked her head out and found that Sheriff Tamya was really in the office, knowing that the door was locked, why would she do it?
Tamia had her back to the two, she was wearing a sheriff's uniform, and the boots on her feet stood out.
After a moment, she turned around and stared at Oreo with piercing eyes.
"Detective Oreo, there's something I need to talk to you about."
Looking at her serious expression, Angelyl tensed up, she felt like she should do something, but in the end she was just stunned.
"Angelil, wait for me outside the door for a moment."
Oreo waved his hand and motioned for Angelyl to go out, while he himself crossed Tamia and sat down in the large chair behind the table.
It wasn't until Angelil closed the door that Tamia turned around, staring into Oreo's eyes without saying a word, which was undoubtedly a mental oppression.
Oreo said confusedly.
"Sheriff Tamia, is there anything I can help with?"
Tamia said with a frown.
"Give me your cane."
"Sheriff Tamia, that's rude."
Having said that, Oreo pulled out his cane and handed the end with the handle to Tamia.
Taking the cane, Tamia quickly unscrewed the handle.
As she thought, it was almost exactly the same as the construction of the Mao Sui gun.
She poured the gunpowder on her handkerchief, then propped her hands on the table, looking down at the pile of black powder.
Oreo explained.
"This is the cheapest black powder, two silver coins a kilogram."
Tamia looked up, still looking at her head.
"Hasn't this thing been processed?"
Oreo said with a grin.
"Of course it's processed, but a little impurity is removed and something is added."
Closing the corners of the handkerchief, Tamia lifted the bag of gunpowder and spoke quickly.
"In other words, do you have a unique ratio for this gunpowder?"
“......”
Oreo fell silent, clasping his hands in front of him and staring at Tamia with an unkind look.
"Sheriff Tamia, what the hell are you trying to say?"
Tamia leaned down, her voice getting deeper.
"Of course you know what I want to say."
Oreo shook his head.
"Sergeant Tamia, shoddy interrogation methods won't work for me."
Tamia asked rhetorically.
"You think I'm interrogating you, too?"
Oreo reclined back in his chair, his face full of disdain.
"Every toe of Tutan is a testament to my innocence, and if you have to make up a story, I can be a listener."
"Listeners!"
Tamia was annoyed, and she whispered from her throat like an angry cat.
"Detective Oreo, are you too arrogant!"
"Sheriff Tamia, I think you're mistaken."
Oreo slowed his tone and gestured to soothe Tamia.
"I mean, as a law-abiding citizen of Turin, I would never have a dime involved in any criminal act."
"You're really too arrogant."
Tamia sat back, staring straight at Oreo, the emotion in her eyes that couldn't tell if it was disappointment or something else.
As if he didn't see her complicated feelings, Oreo said to himself.
"Sheriff Tamia, you're trying to tell me about the key."
Tamia was silent before she spoke.
"It's more than that."
"And what else have you discovered? Could it be related to the death of Viscount Merkel? ”
Oreo narrowed his eyes, "Is it some clue pointing to the murderer, or is it evidence that directly indicates the identity of the murderer?" ”
Staring at those emerald green eyes for a long time, Tamia sighed and stood up.
She turned her back to Oreo and spoke in a low tone.
"Neither, just a key."
Oreo also stood up, and he said as he twisted his cane.
"Looks like you're not going to give me the key, so I'll have to make a deal with you."
Tamia said with a sneer.
"What a deal."
Oreo silently raised his right hand and pointed his staff at Tamia's back.
"You give me the key, and I'll give you and Reka a case, which is enough for the two of you to be promoted to the next level."
Tamia hesitated, it was impossible for the sheriff to be promoted on the basis of a single case.
But she didn't doubt what Oreo said, she just wondered if the justice she had always held up would waver.
"Sheriff Tamia,"
Oreo clenched the trigger and whispered, "Are you decided?" ”
