Chapter VI
By the time of dinner, the atmosphere was still dreary and awkward. Gray finally couldn't help it, and he asked Deeley, who was sitting opposite, "Honey, are you blaming me?" ”
Di Li slowly raised her head and said, "Why should I blame you? ”
"Maybe you think I should have told you about that mysterious storeroom in the first place. But, you know, I don't have a chance. You got drunk on the first night......"
Dee Li waved her hand and motioned for Gray to stop.
"Gray, you're mistaken. I'm not blaming you for not telling me about it. I'm just wondering if this house will ......."
She paused, frowning.
"What do you want to say, Deere."
She shook her head and said, "I'm not trying to scare myself, but I think there may be something in this house that we don't understand and can't explain." ”
Gray's face became embarrassed: "Dili, these words can't be said casually, it will cast a shadow on our lives!" ”
"I think my life has been clouded." Dilly looked at Gray and said.
After a moment of silence, Gray said, "Well, I'll go to work later tomorrow morning, and we'll see if this strange thing happens again." ”
Di Li thought about it and said helplessly, "Okay." ”
"Then tonight, let's stop thinking about this, let's be happy, okay? My dear. ”
Di Li barely managed to squeeze out a smile and nodded.
After dinner, Gray went to the bathroom on the second floor, in front of Kaz's dog house. He took a packet of dog food from the cupboard, poured a small half into Kaz's plate, and poured half a bowl of milk into the bowl next to Kaz where he was drinking. Kaz immediately ate it eagerly.
Deeli also walked upstairs at this time, she saw Katz eating with relish, then looked at the dog food bag in Gray's hand, and asked, "Has it been eating this high-priced dog food?" ”
Gray shook his head helplessly: "No way, Kaz is too picky eater." I've tried to feed him pork liver and rice or something, but this guy doesn't eat it at all - he just eats this imported dog food. ”
Di Li smacked her lips, "It's expensive." ”
"Who called Kaz a famous breeder?" Gray said with some pride, "Anyway, I've spoiled it from the beginning, and I can't change it now." ”
Deli smiled, she looked at Kaz's well-behaved appearance as she ate, and said, "Gray, can I come and feed Kaz in the future?" ”
"Of course," said Gray, "it will be more than glading." ”
After feeding the dogs, they sat down in front of the TV in the living room, and Gray deliberately chose some light-hearted and pleasant variety shows to watch, and Kaz lazily dozed off at their feet.
As she watched the TV, Gray laughed heartily from time to time, and Deli seemed to be infected, and she felt a lot more relaxed, and the atmosphere of fear and anxiety gradually melted away.
At ten o'clock, Gray yawned and said to Dilly, "Sleep, my dear." ”
"Hmm." Deeli nodded, "I'm a little tired too. ”
Gray patted Kaz and said, "Hey, old man. It's time to go to bed and go back to your kennel. ”
Kaz obediently got up from the ground and consciously ran to the bathroom on the second floor and into his kennel.
Dilly took a shower in the bathroom on the second floor, and Gray went to the bathroom on the first floor to wash up. After that, they went to the bedrooms on the second floor.
"Good night, Gray." Deli said.
"Good night, dear." Gray kissed his fiancée on the forehead, then reached for the switch next to the bed.
"Click." A crisp sound. He turned off the lights.
Deli was really physically and mentally exhausted, and she lay in bed for less than five minutes before falling asleep.
The night was silent and long.
At some point, the sleeping Dili was suddenly woken up by some sounds.
At first, she was a little dazed, and she didn't understand why she woke up suddenly, but after only a few seconds, she knew—
She remembered that she had been woken up by a dog barking.
Just as Dilly was trying to think, she heard a few more barks—not very loud, but unusually clear in the silence of the night.
Dilly pricked up her ears and tried to find her way, when the dog barked again.
She could clearly hear that the sound was coming from the bathroom on the second floor.
Deeli frowned, she felt a little strange - from the first day she came into contact with Kaz, she had the impression that Kaz was a dog who didn't like to make noises, and it was, until now, she had only heard Kaz bark two or three times.
But why does it keep barking tonight?
Dilly turned around, trying to wake up Gray, who was beside her. But she saw that Gray was sleeping soundly, and she couldn't bear to wake him—Gray had to go to work tomorrow.
Just then, the barking of the dog stopped.
Deli waited for a few minutes, and Kaz seemed to be really quiet and didn't make any more sounds.
She exhaled softly, ready to go back to sleep.
The moment she closed her eyes, Dilly glanced at the big wall clock on the wall—
