Chapter 16: Into the Valley

1. Statement of the Guards

After the Japanese took Guangzhou and Wuhan, they were very complacent and did not step up their attacks, which is very reasonable. The so-called "master who surrenders without a fight", those short-legged and evil-eyed grandsons are there to experiment and surrender without a fight. This consciousness is clearly expressed in Konoe's two statements.

The first statement was issued on November 3, after the evacuation of Wuhan and before the fire in Changsha. It's very short, the text is only three paragraphs, and the words are only five hundred, but it is very concise and has two pounds.

The first paragraph begins with this statement: "The Imperial Army and Navy, relying on Your Majesty's power this time, captured the three towns of Guangzhou and Wuhan, and determined the important places in China, and the people were demoted to local power. "It's a lot of fun. This means that the great achievement of conquering China has been accomplished, and the so-called national ** is no longer worth being used as a large-scale military object. Therefore, he then changed his words: "However, if the ** is still stubborn and stubbornly adheres to the policy of resisting Japan and tolerating the communists, then the military action will never be stopped before the ** is annihilated." This is more obviously a way for "the **" to point out a path of self-reform: as long as you don't "resist Japan" and don't "tolerate the Communist Party", then I won't beat you again. It doesn't matter if you "resist Japan", because you have been "reduced to a local power" and it doesn't matter. The most important thing is not to "tolerate the CCP"!

The second paragraph states that the so-called "construction of a new order" should "establish a relationship of mutual assistance in politics, economy, and culture through the cooperation of Japan, Manchuria, and China" in order to "achieve common defense, create a new culture, and realize economic cooperation." This more clearly indicated the future tasks for the "local regime": "common defense" - ** anti-Soviet.

The way has been opened, and "as for the people**, if they can abandon the wrong policy, and let other people do the work of rehabilitation and the maintenance of order, then the empire will not refuse" (paragraph 3), and it is blatant to surrender and accept rebellion. "Other personnel" seems to exclude Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Ching-wei, but in fact this is the article, as long as you don't want to be excluded, then it is not an exception. Obviously, there are many people who are exceptional, the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army in the military aspect, and all the progressive elements except the Kuomintang reactionaries in the political aspect.

This political offensive was extremely violent, and today we can say that it is this article that does not exceed three paragraphs and has less than 500 words that determines the entire future trend of the "local government."

Wang Jingwei was lured out. The "vice president" flew out of Chongqing on 18 December and Kunming on 21 December to Hanoi, Vietnam. Then on the 22nd, Konoe made a second statement, and even put forward the request of "common **". "We cannot tolerate forces in East Asia. Japan believes that it is also necessary for Japan and China to establish an agreement in order to express the spirit of Japan, Germany, and Italy. "In order to achieve this goal, Japan requires that troops be stationed in China and that Inner Mongolia be designated as a special anti-communist zone." As a result, "Vice President" Wang responded by a telegram (29 December) that openly collaborated with the enemy and agreed to conclude a "Sino-Japanese Agreement on the Defense of Communists."

If the "vice president" is like this, what is the other "president"? The style is different, the roles are different, but the play is the same play. Since the retreat from Wuhan, it has always been an active defense against the Communist Party and a passive observation of the war, and after six or seven years, isn't it a proof that there is no better thing?

In the Wuhan era, it was originally decided to set up a base camp in Hengshan after the evacuation and continue to actively resist the war. Later, this plan was invisibly dismissed. Isn't this a more substantial response than Wang Jingwei's Yandian?

After the fire in Changsha, there was also a grand Nanyue meeting, and a number of plans were resolved. At that time, these two slogans were put forward, "Propaganda is more important than warfare, and politics is more important than military affairs." We propaganda people were very happy about this. But from today's point of view, from now on, to resist Japan on paper and to oppose the Soviet Union in matters is not "propaganda is more important than war"? Isn't the active defense of the Communist Party and the negative resistance of the War of Resistance "politics more important than military"?

We're so innocent and cute.

Second, linger in Nanyue

The Nanyue Conference was held at the end of November, and I only rushed to attend it once on the closing day. At that time, I was a little surprised, why did so many high-ranking generals gather for such a large-scale meeting during the period when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression should be tight? The people who participated, according to rough estimates, were at least 300, all of whom were of the rank of generals. Isn't it a miracle that these people leave their posts at a critical juncture and come to talk calmly?

After the closing of the meeting, many people left that evening, but we were left behind: the reason was that I was asked to take the "highest" closing speech to Guilin in person, and the manuscript still had to be sorted out by the "literary courage" Chen Bui. It took a lot of time to sort it out, not only did it not work out that night, but it didn't even get it done early the next morning. Therefore, we still had to stay in Nanyue the next day.

That closing speech was actually very problematic, it didn't say anything there, the important thing was just a story about Zeng Guofan. Zeng Guofan first trained as a sailor, and was defeated by the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the first battle, and wanted to fight to death by throwing himself into the water, but was persuaded by his subordinates. Later, he returned to Hengyang to train his troops, and only then did he turn defeat into victory, and finally pacified the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. (Since I don't have a book in my hand, I may have made some mistakes.) From there, we got to the war against Japan. Although defeated, don't be discouraged, learn from Zeng Guofan to make persistent efforts and receive the final victory. The quote to this story is really nondescript. There is a precedent in Chinese history that he refused to cite it, but instead cited Zeng Guofan, a civil war expert and national traitor. Although it is somewhat local, didn't the man who claimed to be the successor of the Zeng Kingdom Domain have long been intent on encouraging civil war?

But we are too naïve, we have to wait for it to be sorted out, and send it to Guilin like a holy decree, so tired that Zhou Gong was also implicated and stayed for an extra day.

However, the delay of this day gave us a chance to go to Nanyue once. I don't remember who proposed it first, but on the morning of the next day, Zhou Gong, He Jinhan and I, the three of us, made an appointment to go mountaineering, and we all agreed not to sit in a sedan chair. This left me with an unexpected memory.

Nanyue Hengshan is said to be very **, as one of the five mountains in ancient times, the sacrificial rank is more than the three dukes. Especially with the poem of Han Yu's "Hengyue Temple", in the minds of readers, it seems that it is really like a god object with a "heavenly false divine handle", and it is often "spraying clouds and mist". But in fact, it is not very magical, especially from the perspective of me, who grew up at the foot of Mount Emei, it is really ordinary. Except for some scenic spots at the foot of the mountain, the mountains are very lonely, neither there are any big trees of "pine and cypress path", nor there is no spiritual palace of "pink wall and danzhu". We only walked to the Iron Buddha Temple in the middle of the mountain and stopped. It's a small dilapidated temple, but it's okay, there are some trees around. He Jinhan said that if he walked up to the Nantianmen, the scenery would be better. But we didn't go any further, not because we didn't have the strength of our feet, but because the lonely mountain scenery didn't have the courage to lure us!

The old monk of the Iron Buddha Temple prepared a lunch for us, and took out the tofu stew made in the temple to cook. That's a treasure that can't be better. The small cube of tofu is very bad, and although the color is gray but the taste is very fresh. We ate plate after plate and ate all the savings in the jar. The monk was very happy, as if he had made a great merit, and of course we did not eat it for nothing.

Not far from the bottom of the Iron Buddha Temple, there is Li Mi's reading room, which is the so-called scenic spot. I went to see it alone, and it was even more disappointing. Don't say anything about "the Yehou family's collection of books, 30,000 shafts on the shelves", that is, the three "Three Character Classics" can't be found there. A row of three small ancestral halls is so vulgar that it is really indescribable.

But this time I climbed the mountain, but I had a travel poem, which I barely made up on the way down the mountain.

The Central Plains dragon battle blood Xuanhuang, will win, and will be self-reliant.

For the time being, send the pride to the landscape, and the right to write liver sausage.

The clouds stretch across thousands of miles, and the sun shines on thousands of peaks.

There are still the ruins of Ye Hou, and Kou Ping is on the reading hall.

In order to be elegant, I had to pretend and deceive myself.

The weather that day was very good, and it was not like Han Yu more than a thousand years ago, when he was in the "gloomy" autumn rain festival, and he "prayed silently". The peaks are very clear, although they are not very "abrupt", and they do not seem to be as active as the so-called "purple cover is connected to the heavenly pillar, and the stone is thrown and thrown to Zhurong". But the view outside the mountain is very impressive for Han Yu to ignore, and the seventy-two peaks are all listed one by one, as if ten thousand horses are galloping. Han Yu only took care of Hengyue himself, and lost the opportunity to take care of Yuewai, I feel sorry for him.

3. Guilin various

On the morning of December 2, he left from Hengyang by train and arrived in Guilin early on the morning of December 3. This time there is the convenience of the train, naturally not as embarrassed as the previous two times.

After arriving in Guilin, the main task was to divide one-third of the personnel of the three departments to stay in the political department of the camp, which was presided over by Zhang Zhirang, and the director of the political department of the camp was Liang Hancao. The rest of the personnel were transported to Chongqing by truck. Only the children of the children's troupe were chic, and they volunteered and decided to walk and work along the way to Chongqing. Their plan turned out to be a complete success.

At that time, Tao Xingzhi was also in Guilin, and he held a children's meeting, which seemed to be the annual meeting of the Life Education Society. He once invited me to give a speech, and I said that the meaning of "one generation is not as good as the next" has changed, not that the next generation is inferior to the previous generation, but that the previous generation is inferior to the next generation. This turning point was given to me by the children of the children's troupe.

After the fire in Changsha, there was a white newspaper hoarding shop that was not burned, but it could not be moved: because in the later period of the Shanshan period, the train was limited to military transportation, and the commercial transportation was cut off. The hoarder asked for a sale from the third hall. The number of orders is so large that I can't remember it now. The merchant burned it down, and the asking price was lower than the cost. I proposed this matter to Chen Cheng and asked the Political Department to buy it. When Chen Cheng arrived in Changsha, he gave me a note and handed it over to the General Affairs Department, but the old men of the General Affairs Department never did it. When I arrived in Guilin, the paper merchant came to me again, so I went alone and simply bought it from the third hall. This has been used by the Political Department for several years, and it has also made the second-generation director He Haoruo and the third-generation director Huang Shaogu each make a lot of money.

When the friends of the Salvation Daily arrived in Guilin, they planned to resume publication immediately, but because of the lack of funds and the lack of help from the local authorities, they were left in vain. I twisted Chen Cheng and asked the Political Department for a stipend. He reluctantly agreed to a monthly allowance of $200. Although the amount of this allowance is small, it is a newspaper subsidized by the central organs, and it is a shield for the trouble of the local party offices. At the same time, Xia Yan went to ** to raise a sum of funds, so this cultural newspaper was republished in Guilin on New Year's Day of the following year. ——This newspaper was two years later, when Zhang Zhizhong was the head of the Political Department, He Haoruo personally went to Guilin to order the suspension of publication.

After leaving Changsha on November 11 with Xia Yan, Sun Shiyi, and Sachiko Ikeda, Liqun arrived in Guilin before me. She used to rent a small house near the province, but unfortunately it was bombed at the end of November, and everything was blown up except for the little clothes she was wearing. It is fortunate that people did not sacrifice.

Liqun also has a mother, Cen Chunxuan's niece, who originally served in the Executive Yuan, and fled back to Guilin with a thirteen-year-old ** when Nanjing fell. They also lost everything, and temporarily lived in their mother's house, the Cen clan ancestral hall, in Shuidongmen. It is said that the feudal habits of the time are still the same, and all married women are not allowed to spend the New Year in their parents' house, and when it is about to be the end of the year, they have to move out of the ancestral hall. We must also be responsible for the future of the old and the weak. This trivial private matter, thanks to the help of friends, was solved most ideally. Little sister Lixiu, we asked her to join the children's troupe, and she participated very enthusiastically. My mother-in-law, Cen Yunwen, took the car of the Soviet advisory group and went to Chongqing first. The two mothers and daughters soon moved from Chongqing to Yan'an, and now they are freer and happier than us.

In Guilin, we live in the Lequn Society, with Nai Chao and Du Lao living together. Soon Han Sheng came back from **, and the medical supplies he purchased were left with Cheng Bugao to be in charge of transporting. Their brilliant achievements, which I have already recounted.

Nai Chao is planning to set up a Japanese language training class, and plans to train a group of personnel to come out and step up propaganda work against the enemy. For this work, he and Lu Diqian stayed in Guilin until May of the following year. But the work was affected by Liang Hancao's various constraints, and it did not reach the ideal point. Originally, it was planned to be handled directly by the Third Hall, but Liang Han Cao snatched the land alive, and Nai Chao and Ludi only stayed in the name of consultants. Although we also recruited students and started classes, the focus was not on Japanese language training, but on ideological training. This was the consistent national policy pursued by the Kuomintang reactionaries after the evacuation of Wuhan -- according to the path indicated by the Konoe Statement: passive resistance to the war, active defense against the Communists. From Ling Chi to the execution, all the work that was beneficial to the War of Resistance was gradually restricted and destroyed.

Liqun and I flew to Chongqing on the 27th, but we had some joys and sorrows before that.

Fourth, the boat tour Yangshuo

"Guilin's landscape is the best in the world, and Yangshuo's landscape is the best in Guilin."

Guilin people are very fond of exaggerating these two sentences. Having been to Guilin and traveled to Yangshuo, I can admit that these two sentences are not exaggerated. The landscapes of Guilin and Yangshuo (seriously, they can only be mountains) are indeed very peculiar. The limestone formed by water has withstood countless years of wind erosion and rain, and the mountain peaks are not connected and rise from the ground. And the tens of thousands of peaks are in a strange shape, or like a random stack of mica, or like a reclining picture screen, or like a snail, or like a fungus, or like a book on the shelf, or like a spearhead stuck in the sky, elephant trunks, lion heads, saddles, human hats, invisible and unprepared. I haven't seen this kind of mountain anywhere else. Anhui people are called Yellow Mountain, but from the photos, the strangeness of Yellow Mountain seems to be that there are many small pines among the cliffs, and such Yellow Mountain pines are not uncommon in Guilin and Yangshuo. I have to admit that the landscapes of Guilin and Yangshuo are indeed the best in the world in terms of their strange beauty. If you want to talk about majestic, it is completely impossible.

The mountain is limestone formed by water, so there are many stalactite caves, and there is a name of "no mountain without hole" in Guilin. The largest Seven Star Cliff is the largest stalactite cave. Of course, there are some strange things in the cave, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone pens, stone curtains, knocking sound like bells, and becoming in stone slurry like milk. But the scene in the cave that does not see the light of day is not as fascinating as the scene on the ground in broad daylight.

At that time, Bai Pengfei (Table Zi Jingtian) was the president of Guangxi University. We were classmates of Imperial University of Japan, so he treated us very hospitablely. He invited me to give a lecture at the university in Liangxiang, and it is said that the school building was donated by Cen Chunxuan, which naturally has a relationship with Liqun. The garden of the school building is quite exquisite, and there is a large red bean tree, which I have seen for the first time in my life. Such small and delicate red beans, the so-called "acacia seeds", are knotted on such tall trees.

Once, Jingtian hired two boats and invited Du Lao, He Gongkang, Liqun and me to travel to Yangshuo together. As a result, we were able to enjoy the flavors of Guilin and Yangshuo as much as possible.

One day it was raining lightly, and I got on two wooden boats with canopies on the edge of the water. Everyone was carrying a blanket and preparing to sleep on the boat for the night. The diligent Mrs. Shen Lanbing even procured more than a day's worth of grain and several bottles of Moutai. She was determined to entertain us by cooking her own on board. Such a virtuous master is indeed rare, and the friendship is both strong and charming. In the strange mountains and rivers, wandering for a day and a night, even if it is not Su Dongpo, he can write a "Yangshuo Fu".

The water is clean, the water flows slowly, and it winds smoothly through the peaks on both banks. A little light rain adds to the mood. The air was cold and cold, and the distant peaks were half hidden in smoke. From time to time, flocks of waterfowl swim. The whole scene is like a dream.

Bai Jingtian loves to sing blackheads, and from time to time he suddenly has to make a few "Black Wind Pa", so the mountains are terrified, and both sides of the strait reverberate.

When I was in Wuhan, I bought a pistol, but I didn't use it, and this time I took it with me. At noon, while Mrs. Jingtian was cooking, I jokingly said, let's shoot a water fowl to cook. Pulled out the gun, and with a bang—the waterfowl ran away. The cold mountains on both sides of the strait that were abruptly in the illusion were almost shattered.

Mrs. Jingtian's cooking is very good, and when she touches our four major families, they are all gluttonous and Gaoyang drunkards, so they complement each other. The plates must be swept away, the cans must be dried, the wine is drunk, and there is nothing to talk about.

Liqun, she saw Mrs. Jingtian's busyness and cleverness, and she was eager to help and study. An interesting interjection was added.

In the evening, Mrs. Jingtian was frying peanuts, and Liqun took over to take care of the pot for her. I smelled the peanuts in the cabin, and when I went to look, the peanuts were already charred in the boiling oil. Liqun said: It hasn't been fried yet. Deep-fried peanuts are only crispy when they are cold, and she doesn't know yet. When I eat it, the peanuts already have a bitter taste. I said: full well, this can help digestion.

The next morning, we arrived in Yangshuo. When I returned to Guilin, I took a car, and the speed of the car was too fast, and there was no such fun on the land as on the water. It seems that the so-called "mountains and rivers" are indeed connected by mountains and waters.

5. The death of Zhang Shu's father and daughter

During the Guilin period, enemy planes often came to bomb them. At that time, most people were not very frightened by air raids, and they often refused to hide when there was an alarm. In addition, the enemy planes took off from Guangzhou, and the distance between the pre-warning and the emergency warning was very short, and it was sometimes too late to hide. Therefore, some people simply do not hide. In this way, Zhang Shu's father and daughter suffered a tragic sacrifice.

One day at noon, Zhang Shu went home for lunch, and his wife, Ms. Zhou Jie, was said to have a bit of a disagreement. The family was about to start eating when the alarm came. Mrs. ran to the entrance of the nearby city gate to take refuge, but Zhang Shu and his three-year-old ** did not go with him. After the alarm was lifted, the father and daughter were killed in the garden. The daughter was already bloody in her father's hands, and the father's head was blown into an empty shell. Zhou Jie went home, saw such a scene, and fainted on the ground. When he woke up, he went insane for a while, and shouted "Zhang Shu" when he saw anyone, and kept singing the "Hongbo Song" composed by Zhang Shu.

Zhang Shu was the first comrade to participate in the work of the Third Hall, and he and Xian Xinghai made great efforts in the dissemination of anti-Japanese war songs. He was so tragically sacrificed that his colleagues expressed their heartfelt condolences. We buried him in the Lengshui Pavilion outside Guilin, which was the tombstone I wrote for him. At that time, I thought that I could leave a victory in Guilin City, but two years later, Shouchang arrived in Guilin, went to sweep the tomb, and found that the tomb was bulldozed, the monument was also broken, and a bridge was made over a small ditch. Shouchang has a chronicle.

Zhang Shu and I had a period of sharing ginger porridge in the Changsha fire, and his death touched me very much. I made a lot of couplets to save him. In order to commemorate the deceased, I can transcribe some of the memories I can below.

Elegy (transfer to "Wanghai Tide")

Wuchang lost first, Yueyang fell, and Changsha suddenly felt lonely. The shadow of the tree is suspicious, the wind is dissolved, and the Chu people burn the sky with a torch, and they are embarrassed. sighed that the ancestral hall was turned into gravel, Jia Mansion was smoking, and he was alive and suffering, and the wounded soldiers were pitiful.

The midnight hall is waiting for the baggage, and the bitter hunger is turning, and it is difficult to boil. Half a pot of white porridge, a slice of red ginger, swallow and stop salivation. Lingering in the south, I bombed several times in pain, and took away my sage. Let's listen to the song "Hong Bo", and sing it for many years in the Anti-Japanese War.

One of the elegiac poems

Zongbang is away from the catastrophe, and the whole world is endowed with the same hatred.

Serving the country, what is the purpose of donating one's life?

Nine songs spread all over the world, and one death is enough for a thousand years.

Lengshui Pavilion side road, Rongcheng victory remains.

Elegy No. 2

Chengren's husband is ambitious, and the weak women are the same.

Jihad is sung and praised, and Zhongxing is advocated.

The body is extinguished with the smoke, and the song competes with the sun.

Bo Hai's "Hongbo" is a work that is in decline.

One of the elegiac couplets

It was a blur of blood, and it was impossible to distinguish which was the father and which was the daughter; The father and daughter sacrificed their lives together, and the orchestra was left to pass on the revolution.

The war has been hard for many years, just to save my country and my nation; The people worked hard to complete the resistance and comfort the loyal souls.

Elegiac two

Kind to the father, loyal to the people, dedicated to the state when he died, and did not leave a weak daughter in both hands.

The poor Yellow Spring below, the poor Blue Fall, the nine songs recruit perseverance, and the thousand autumns protect the flag.

The third of the couplet

Singing "Hongbo" heroically, on the shore of Dongting Lake and at the head of the Yangtze River, evoked the three Chu athletes and went to the front line together.

A little bit of cold water, in Bagui City, under the Seven Star Cliff, the pain flew full of blood, and vowed to avenge this.

Elegiac four

Huang Zi died of illness, Nie Er died in the sea, Zhang Shu died in the bombing of enemy planes, and the heavy responsibility was placed on the shoulders of my generation, and the storm followed!

The song "Resisting the Enemy" is in the front, the song "The Road" is in the back, and the song "Hongbo" is in the period of the Holy War.

6. Bow and string

The moon in December, although the fighting has ceased temporarily, should be said to be the most eventful autumn. This was a turning point in the attitude of the Kuomintang reactionaries towards the War of Resistance Against Japan, which from then on turned from seemingly positive to completely negative, and from reluctantly external to exclusively internal.

Wang Jingwei escaped from Chongqing on the 18th and flew to Kunming, and on the 21st he escaped from Kunming and flew to Hanoi. Since then, he has broken away from the camp of the Anti-Japanese War and embarked on his road of "saving the country by curve". This was followed by a second statement on 22 December, following the statement of 3 December, in which the Japanese Konoe Cabinet made a second statement, clearly putting forward a proposal for "common **." On the 29th, Wang Jingwei hurriedly responded with a beautiful telegram, and did his best to play the villain.

These have already been mentioned earlier. However, before "Vice President" Wang Ching-wei's response to Yan Dian, there were still people who took the lead in a 5,000-word response published by Chiang Kai-shek, the "president," on 26 July. The way of responding is naturally different, one is to play the villain, and the other is to pretend to be decent. The second statement of the Konoe by the disguised decency is refuted word by word. The wording is very grim, and I don't get tired of repeating it. When the other party says a word, he must return the cross, and when the other party says a word, he must return ten sentences, so the original statement is only 500 words, and the answer is ten times more than 10 times longer. Isn't it a funny event for the two countries to exchange troops and curse for a long time?

The enemy's instructions were for the Kuomintang to "stop resisting Japan and tolerating the Communists" or "jointly defending the Communists." If there is really a determination to resist Japan, then it is necessary to go the other way. How do you do the opposite? Quite simply, restore Sun Yat-sen's three major policies, get closer to the Soviet Union, cooperate more with the Communist Party, and build the foundation of the War of Resistance on mobilizing the workers and peasants. That's the best answer. Let's be more specific, quickly abandon the one-party dictatorship and personal dictatorship, immediately organize a wartime cabinet, and invite all the leaders of the CCP to participate in national politics; The Council for Political Participation, which is an ornament, is simply promoted to a real organ of public opinion, so that it has the power to legislate and supervise the executive; At the same time, we will punish those incompetent traitors who are corrupt and selfish. That's the best answer. As long as you are really resisting Japan, how can you have spare time to vent on paper and scold the enemy across the sea?

Everything was done according to the enemy's instructions, the base camp of the War of Resistance was no longer set up, and even the three halls, which were dedicated to red and white ceremonies, a group of cultural people who were more active in resisting Japan, tried their best to divide and shrink them. The enemy is very smart, and if you only appear to be words, and you don't match the words, won't it smile? If you refute a statement of 500 words in 5,000 words, it proves that you have read it with great care, that you have been shaken, that you have caused the enemy to have the effect of attacking the heart, and that you can now communicate your heart with your heart.

After Yuezhou was taken, the enemy did not advance, and after the fire of Changsha, the enemy did not advance, this is a show of favor from the enemy, and the reins are lengthened to strengthen your understanding of the "statement". The understanding of the two actors is very good, one is against the other, one inside and one outside, and they have received the magic of the match.

Therefore, Wang Ching-wei's departure has long been clearly said by some people among the Kuomintang reactionaries that it is a bitter ploy of the "supreme" person. At that time, people who were too naïve were still a little skeptical, but now it seems that this plan is not only "bitter meat", but also painstaking work. We are the ones who are late to the truth, we have seen Tao Xisheng alive and favored, Zhou Fohai died and mourned, Zhang Songxian map, and the Japanese have become good friends again.

However, the common people are smart after all, and in the past few years, such a ballad has long been popular in the countryside of southern Sichuan:

Bow & String

You are the bow, I am the string,

You walk the curve, I go straight,

Anyway, a reunion.

With a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other,

Coiled horse bent bow Du Meiyuan,

Arrows shoot Yan Ran.

I didn't know much about this ballad before, but now I know it completely. Who is the bow? Who is the string? No need to say any more. Isn't "Du Meiyuan" a diacritic of "Tu Feiyuan"? Isn't "Yan Ran" alluding to "Yan'an" with its proximity?

Everyone knows what is going on! The bow is broken, and the string is about to break. The death penalty was pronounced in Tufeiyuan, and Yan'an became a sacred place for the liberation of China.
