Volume 2 The Ancient Kingdom of the White Wolf Chapter 31 The Nine-Eyed Dzi
Khenshi Kuncho Tenzin said, "When I was still in Jokhang Monastery, we also received several copies of the Bon scriptures, which are said to have been found from a tso (lake) on the Ali side, when my Guru Geleg Langgyal gave the person who found them thirty taels of gold.
Your book is better than those books, and you have this head drum and gold box, and I will give you a hundred taels of gold to buy these things. ”
I was shocked, I didn't expect this Gon Qu Tenzin Khenpo to be so generous, and it was a hundred taels of gold as soon as I made a shot.
I immediately agreed, and Khenpo put the first two books in the gold box, and looked at the last one, the last book was very thin, just a dozen pages, and the more Khenpo looked at it, the more strange it became, and while tapping his fingers on the tabletop, he made a sound in his mouth.
I asked curiously, "Rinpoche, what is this book about, why do you look at it more and more strangely?" ”
Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin moved his stiff neck and said, "This book records an incident that makes me feel a little surprised. ”
I asked, "What's the matter?" ”
Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin said: "The book records that one night in ancient times, a huge ball of fire appeared in the sky, this ball of fire dragged a long tail, at first everyone thought that the moon had fallen, and gradually the ball of fire divided into many small balls of fire in the air, scattered to various places on the earth, and the spellmaster in this book said that this was the "Lu" realm punishing the black-headed mortals on the earth.
Later, the tantra masters searched all over the place, and finally found a deep pit in the middle of a snow-capped mountain, and found that the pit was still burning somewhere, and in this pit they found a turquoise glowing stone. The tantra master believed that it was a sacred relic that the gods had sprinkled on the earth, so he picked up the stone and kept it safe.
But then something strange happened, and many of these spellcasters who had come into contact with the stone died mysteriously, and the spellmasters panicked, thinking that the stone was an ominous sign.
The enchanters then put the glowing stone into a gold box filled with dzi beads, and then sank the box into a sacred lake beneath a snow-capped mountain.
A few years later, when the enchanter took out the golden box from the sacred lake again, he saw that most of the dzi in the golden box had been broken and destroyed, only the four nine-eyed dzi had been preserved, and the stone was still intact, but since then, there has been no strange death of the enchanter. ”
I asked, "What is a dzi?" ”
Khenshi Gonqu Tenzin said: "Dzi is also called the Nine Eyes Bead, in Tibet, Dzi is considered to be a supernatural thing, the legend is that the gods used the old holy relics, and after throwing them away, they came to the world, so we see that Dzi is not perfect.
There is also a theory that the origin of dzi is linked to the primitive Bon. During a puja, a Bon master wears a garment made of a human skull and practices at a cemetery. When a mage's practice reaches a certain level, a bead depicting a mysterious pattern will fall from the mage's body, which is called a dzi. The Bon mages used it as a magic weapon to exorcise demons.
Tibetans believe that dzi can ward off disasters and avoid disasters, and wearing dzi can prevent the invasion of evil forces. Because the number nine is an important number in Bon, Tibetans are most fond of the nine-eyed dzi.
If there is a crack in the dzi, it means that the dzi has suffered the suffering in the place of the person. ”
I asked thoughtfully, "What about then?" ”
Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin pointed to a passage and said, "Look here, later the mantra masters distributed the glowing stone and the four nine-eyed dzi beads in the two sacred lakes for preservation.
If you guess correctly, you will find that these hiding places are one of the sacred lakes of Bon. ”
I asked, "Where is the sacred lake where the dzi is hidden?" ”
Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin said: "The only record in the book is that these four nine-eyed dzi were sealed in a glass bottle and sent to a holy lake at the foot of Mount Gangdis, and there is no specific record. ”
I asked, "Why did you send these dzi so far away?" ”
Khen Kunqu Tenzin said, "Mr. Chan doesn't know that this Bon religion originated in the Gangdis Mountain area, and the Bon mantras believe that this is the center of the world. Naturally, the most auspicious holy relics should be placed here. ”
I nodded, and suddenly remembered something, and took the piece of metal from my bosom and pointed to the symbol on it to show Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin.
I asked, "Rinpoche, what does this symbol mean?" ”
Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin took the metal piece, looked at it carefully, and finally frowned: "This symbol is definitely not a Buddhist or Bon pattern, this is the first time I have seen this pattern in Tibet. I don't know where Mr. Chen got it. ”
I had to say, "It was owned by a deceased uncle, but I don't know where he got it." ”
Khenshi Kunqu Tenzin said: "This thing is like iron but not iron, and it is so light in the hand, but I don't know what it is made of. And there seemed to be burn marks on it, and it seemed to be a shell on a very large piece. ”
As soon as Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin reminded me, I also realized that it should indeed be the shell of something, but it was such a big slap that we couldn't tell what it was.
When we left this hut, it was already a little late, and Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin sent someone to the pot village to invite Ermao and others, saying that they were for us to receive the wind and wash the dust, and set up a feast for us to eat.
On Tuesday, Mao's eyes widened when he heard that Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin had given me the gold box and the books and the human head drum of a hundred taels of gold.
No one expected that thing would be so valuable, nor would they have expected that this Khenpo of Gonqu Tenzin would be so rich.
Tibetans are all a nation that believes in Buddhism, and they give a lot of money to the temple every year, and there are still a lot of industries in the temple, especially the Rising Sun Temple, which is known as the largest temple in the Kham District, which is not a lot of money for them.
What's more, there are countless disciples who seek the Dharma from Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin and want to receive empowerment.
According to the rules of Tibetan Buddhism, when a disciple seeks the Dharma from his teacher, he must do everything he can to worship the Guru, once not twice, twice but not three times, knowing that the Guru thinks that the disciple has a firm wish and has sufficient roots, he must also give the Guru a lot of silk and satin, gold and silver, and valuable gifts to the Guru as a reward.
It's just that the reason for this is really not so simple, if it is because I don't know Tibetan, and I don't intend to let this book flow into Tibetan areas, now there is some confusion in Tibetan areas and the relationship between the national government is relatively delicate, and there are foreign forces secretly manipulating, so many years later, I now think about it, the idea of Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin was indeed prescient.
After I said this to Tuesday Mao, Tuesday Mao was naturally quite willing to hand over the conch with the Bon symbol to Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin.
Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin smiled and accepted the value of the conch.
That night's banquet was eaten very late, during which there was another Tibetan officer named Suolang Zeren, who was still a nobleman from Lhasa, and served as the head of the Tibetan army, and wanted to pass through Ganzi County, go to Derge on business, and specially came to visit Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin, and we chatted for a while, but unexpectedly the conversation was extremely speculative, saying that he was willing to write a letter to the checkpoint of Qamdo, and we would definitely let him go through Qamdo.
But we've decided to go down tomorrow, so we'll have to give up.
Before leaving, Khenpo Kunqu Tenzin led me to the inner chamber, put the golden dots away, put them in a leather bag, and gave them to me, and told me to keep them safe.
Back at Guozhuang, it was already more than ten o'clock in the evening, and we all drank a little too much, and we supported each other before coming back.
Tuesday Mao said excitedly: "Erwa, this trip is really worth it, I didn't expect to come to Kang District once, and there would be such a big gain." ”
I was happy at first, but I felt a little lost and sad when I thought that my uncle and Lin Xia were still missing, and then there was the mysterious death of Uncle Du Wang.
Thinking that he will leave the plateau tomorrow, in fact, there is still no progress and understanding of this matter, and he is also a little unwilling.
Tuesday Mao said: "Second baby, do you miss Lin Xia's sister?" ”
I said angrily while burning my feet: "Go to bed by yourself, don't JB grind and chirp all day." ”
On Tuesday, Mao smiled and said, "The old ones don't go, the new ones don't come." When you go back this time, your baby will be developed. ”
I sighed and ignored Tuesday Mao, but kept thinking about the story I had told Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin this afternoon about the bright stones and dzi beads.
I really don't know how they found that crater, uncle, do they have any secrets there?
And that piece of metal, what the hell is it, the symbol on it, even the well-informed Khenpo Gonqu Tenzin said he had never seen it.
And that nine-eyed dzi, is it really such a great divine power? It was able to suppress the evil stones.
"Evil stones?" I chuckled inwardly.
"Cursed?" I sat up.
Tuesday Mao watched me sit up, and he was also curious, looked at me and said, "What's wrong." Second baby? ”
I grabbed Ermao's shoulder and said, "Ermao, Lao Tzu seems to have found a way to contact the curse." ”
Tuesday Mao was shocked and said, "What method?" Your baby is waking up and dozing off, right? ”
I said, "We're not going back!" ”
Tuesday Mao looked at me strangely and said, "Why don't you go back?" ”
I said: "Don't be in a hurry to talk about this first, let's hurry up and find Suo Lang Zeren and ask him to help open the road, and we will enter Tibet tomorrow!" ”
"Into the Tibetan ???" Mao exclaimed on Tuesday.
I said, "Yes, hurry up and go with me, otherwise if we get up early in the morning tomorrow, we will be too late to leave." ”
When we found the place where Solang Zeren was staying, Solang Zeren fortunately did not sleep, and when he heard that we were going to Tibet, he promised us that even if he opened a road for us, he told us that whether we were in Qamdo or Lhasa, we could help with anything.
