The funeral system is a kind of cruel destruction of human nature by ancient people, and there are historical records that from the Shang, Zhou, Spring and Autumn Periods, Warring States, and Qin Dynasty, they all have the custom of martyrdom. The ancients were particularly superstitious, believing that people could still wait for them after death as they did before they died, and continue to enjoy the glory and wealth before death, and the poor also followed it like the wind, fantasizing that they would no longer bear the suffering of life after death. During the Shang Dynasty, slaves were allowed to be buried. After that, it slowly changed into murder, burial alive, and these people had palace maids, concubines, and so on. Especially in the Qin Dynasty, it was particularly cruel, with palace maids, concubines, ministers and craftsmen repairing mausoleums, ranging from hundreds to tens of thousands. Later, people thought it was too cruel. Although Confucius later said: Do not do unto others as you would have them do unto you, there are several emperors and nobles who regard Confucius's words as a kind of teaching, a kind of introspection, and a way of human nature in the true sense of their hearts.
The ancient king is the supreme ruler, he can decide the life and death of others, his harem is thousands of beauties, so he does not want to die alone, before he dies, he will order his harem to accompany him to die together, go to that world to accompany him, serve him, there are usually four ways.
1. Poisoned wine
They will let her die without knowing it, and the clerks will record the victim's last words directly, and they will choose to invite them to dinner and let them enjoy their gradual death.
2. Hanging
Usually there will be a eunuch who walks in front of you with a white silk in his hand, gathers all his concubines together, and they order the concubines to hang themselves directly, and the eunuchs will persuade them to enjoy happiness with the emperor, and if they do not obey, they will forcibly hang them directly, hang them and pull them to death.
3. Buried alive
Influenced by feudal social thoughts, buried alive in ancient times can often be seen, at the time of burial, they will choose to push it directly into the tomb, the blockade of the ancient tomb in our country is very good, after opening the stone door, these concubines can only wait for death inside, but the emperor basically uses these on the tomb repairer, they don't want the world to know the location of the cemetery, so that no one will ever be able to find this mausoleum
4. Mercury
This is relatively cruel, it has really appeared in history, this was invented by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty, they will find a way to anesthetize the deceased directly, pry a hole in his head, and fill his body with mercury, perhaps directly from the victim's mouth, so that the deceased's body will never decay.
In the original history, these deaths in the Xianfeng period had nothing to do with the later Empress Dowager Ci'an.
The death of the Eastern Empress Dowager Ci'an has always been a mystery in history, originally with Cixi to listen to the government, but she was in charge of power, her status is higher than Cixi, and she has been suppressing Cixi, but the Empress Dowager Ci'an, who has always been in good health, suddenly died in the palace at the age of forty-five.
Ci'an was generous and benevolent under the teaching of his family, and Ci'an had a stunning appearance, and soon won the love of Emperor Xianfeng, and then Xianfeng ascended the throne to become the emperor, but because Chang Fujin died before Xianfeng ascended the throne, Ci'an completed the amazing feat from chastity to concubine to chastity to queen in just four months.
