February 12th
I'm writing a script for a short film that I plan to shoot in June. Unable to endure her husband's long-term violence, the wife killed him and fled with her young son, only to discover more and more that the callousness and violence in his words and actions were the same as those of his husband.
Sounds like a tale of hating men. But what I want to write about is mainly such a scene: the heroine gives up her career for the sake of her family, but she keeps convincing herself that her family is her own career.
After killing her husband by mistake, she magically discovers the outlet of her feelings, recalling her long-forgotten childhood and dreams of being a girl.
She couldn't help but babble to her son, recounting these memories and looking for emotional support. It turns out that this child she loves dearly, like her husband, doesn't care at all what she thinks as an individual with feelings.
It finally shattered her, and made her realize that this product born from her own body and giving everything to herself was nothing more than a strange and indifferent part of the world that oppressed her.
When I was writing it, I couldn't help but think that the indifferent child was me. When I was a child, I often suspected that I was making my mother unhappy.
Because she said that her biggest career was family, I didn't think I deserved it. It's funny to think that I'm writing this story from the perspective of an oppressor rather than a victim.
While I felt the pain of the victims, I also felt the hurt I suffered as an oppressor: throughout my childhood and adolescence, I often felt like I was carrying it on my back
"Not worthy" sinful karma. In an environment where inequality exists, pain is transmitted to every heart.
What kind of story should we look for to express such feelings? What's even more amazing is that the next script I intend to write is about the pain of a mediocre man who feels because he is neglected.
Before that, it never occurred to me that my original story was all about traditional family and emotional trauma.
This column is so strange, people really can't understand themselves (.
