Chapter Seventy-One: Not a Serious Chapter

I've been trying to say that many readers don't know what a Scp is, so I'll use this chapter to talk about some things about SCP.

As science fiction or supernatural fiction, SCP has a lot of material to offer, and to be clear, all the products of SCP are "crystallization of wisdom" from all over the world.

We can think of it as an urban weirdo, so SCPs aren't something made up out of thin air, and some geniuses who love weird things have created story after story.

In this novel, SCP3999 mentioned many times is the more famous SCP project department's original story, and readers can search for it on the Internet.

As for the rest, She doesn't have much to say, just take this opportunity to talk to you about the information and stories of 3199, I believe that some friends like the story of the style of SCP.

Video Log - Interview 3199-01:

Interviewer: Dr. Ewing。

Interviewee: LCpl. Duncan. The leader of MTF Omega-19, who was the first to capture and secure SCP-3199.

Foreword: Prior to the interview, the interviewee underwent extensive psychiatric treatment, while not considering the study of Pvt. MacLeod and Cpl. Langley was responsible for the death, admitting not taking the necessary precautions.

[START LOG]

LCpl. Duncan: Can I sit down?

Dr. Ewing: If you need it, please.

LCpl. Duncan cleared his throat. As he sits, his voice pale and anxious

LCpl. Duncan: It's pretty easy. Didn't cause any noise or visual confusion to be noticed by the nerds at Site-114. It seems to me that they have done a pretty good job of cleaning up the area.

LCpl. Duncan smiled nervously.

LCpl. Duncan: But it's never that easy, is it, ma'am? We are stationed here for about 2100 hours. The guys and I were told that if we couldn't catch that thing, the best outcome would be to lose a crew or two, so they — uh— they provided our best night vision hardware.

LCpl. Duncan:…… I know you have pictures, Ela. I know what you're getting.

Flip through the report. Dr. Ewing looked serious.

Dr. Ewing: You are not obligated to review the records.

LCpl. Duncan: Oh, oh, I know, just a little surprised.

Dr. Ewing: Go on.

LCpl. Duncan: (shuddering) We found something in the meantime, and it was like a shack, made entirely of iron and wood. It looks more like an oversized chicken coop, but I didn't know it was built by your new monster. I used that as a base.

Dr. Ewing: I'm assuming you-

LCpl. Duncan: —Coming in immediately? Of course, it was the night shift. Just want to end as soon as possible. I'd say, that's why I did that, but — uh, I can't make excuses for myself.

LCpl. Duncan touched his head and sighed. I really, really screwed up, ma'am. Forgive me for being foul-mouthed.

Dr. Ewing: Combined, you're doing a good job. However, I will have to ask you to continue to explain the process.

LCpl. Duncan: Well, okay, okay - I have two guys stationed in the back. Pvt. MacLeod and Cpl. Langley insisted on taking charge of the rear. They had just come out of the boot camp and were still children. I should recognize that, but-

LCpl. Duncan laughed dryly.

LCpl. Duncan: We quickly lost our smiles, and it knew we were here. Jump straight to Pvt. MacLeod on his body, fucking his head with teeth [DATA EXPUNGED]. I can still see it when I close my eyes, ma'am. That's the monster that's staying with you.

Dr. Ewing: I assure you that the Foundation will take all measures to ensure that the family of your lost brother finds financial comfort. Can you elaborate on another casualty?

There was a moment of silence. LCpl Duncan leaned back in his chair and paused.

Dr. Ewing:Duncan? Please go on. The more we know, the better we can prevent this from happening again.

LCpl. Duncan: Before we could react, it turned right down the hallway. I guess it was the adrenaline rush that I fired wildly, almost blowing a chunk off its chest, just as its ugly head was about to hit a corner. I see-

Another pause. LCpl. Duncan showed significant distress.

LCpl. Duncan: I saw the moonlight on the other side. Right in the bull's-eye. The thing let out the most terrible screams. I have a beautiful little boy at home, PhD. Do you know?

Dr. Ewing: This program doesn't need to discuss family life, Lance Corporal. Can you—-

LCpl. Duncan: (volume up) My pretty babe is just a little pessimistic, and you know that feeling when he's too grumpy to sleep? Every time he did that, I thought about the scream. It keeps echoing in my head. Thinking about it, he needed his dad's comfort, but his dad gave him the look he wanted to hit his head against the wall.

LCpl. Duncan stood up and sat down slowly.

LCpl. Duncan: (nervous) They're all good boys.

silent

LCpl. Duncan: Please, Ela. Kill that monster. If not for anyone else, at least for me.

[END LOG]

Note: I would like to be compensated by the families of those who have lost their lives in the course of SCP-3199 security. In addition, I would like to formally request that LCpl Duncan be administered Class-B amnestics if it is convenient. There are no exceptions.

Experiment 3199-A -'High Temperature Exposure' - █/█/█/2017

Subject: One instance of SCP-3199 eggs.

Methods: Subject was transferred to a secure container. Gradually increase the temperature in the container at 7°/min.

Results: After approximately 9 minutes, the egg violently ruptured, resulting in a larvae. The on-site personnel responded quickly and regained control of the newborn's condition. However, the excessively high internal temperature affects the physical development of the larvae and enters adolescence at a rate of 40 seconds.

As a result, the hatchlings (now juvenile) spawned two more instances of SCP-3199. On-site security responded quickly, and all three instances were secured. All future thermal testing involving SCP-3199 egg samples is prohibited until further notice.

Experiment 3199-B - 'Liquid Nitrogen Bath' - █/█/2017

Subject: One instance of SCP-3199 eggs.

Method: Subject was completely immersed in liquid nitrogen. After fears of another unexpected outbreak, security remained on standby throughout the process. After approximately 45 minutes of immersion, SCP-3199 has reached -190°C. After two hours of soaking, the egg sample is removed and subjected to extreme pressure.

Results: The hydraulic press peaked at a pressure of approximately 9000 psi. The crack appeared for 30 minutes and caused the sample to fragment. Fragments of the eggs are collected and pressed into a fine pulp. No traces of albumin or egg yolk. Incinerate the remains to prove that the sample has been destroyed.

P.S. As Dr. Ewing has said that, however, we don't allow these small victories to lose sight of the big picture – you can find time to celebrate the discovery, and we won't let our indifference take place.

Experiment 3199-C - 'Chemical Analysis of Shells' - ██/█/2017.

Subject: 10 grams of finely squeezed ooplasm taken from an SCP-3199 egg.

Results: Detailed chemical analysis revealed nacre, enamel composition, and a currently unknown carbon compound. Microscopic analysis has shown that the shell itself is made up of tightly organized crystals. The practical use of this material is currently under consideration.
