Chapter 213: That Mysterious Voice Six

When the Japanese Venerable Master was nine years old, he had the determination to become a monk and learn the Tao. He asked Zen Master Cizhen to shave him for him, and Zen Master Cizhen asked him:

"How did you think of becoming a monk at such a young age?"

Qin Luan said: "My parents have died, I don't know why people have to die? Why am I separated from my parents? I heard that the monk knew these truths, so he wanted to become a monk with the monk. ”

Zen Master Cizhen praised his volunteering very much and said, "Good! I see, I'm willing to take you as an apprentice. However, it's too late today, so I'll shave you tomorrow morning! ”

After hearing this, Qin Luan was happy and anxious, and urged, "Master, but I can't guarantee whether this determination of mine can be maintained until tomorrow. And Master is already old, who can guarantee that he will be alive when he wakes up tomorrow morning? ”

Zen Master Cizhen felt that the child's words were completely reasonable, so he said, "You are right, now I will shave your head!" ”

Yes, now both Chinese and foreign countries have come out.

Duan Chaonuan thinks, although she has such patience to listen to it, but this matter is really not so comfortable, Duan Chaonuan wants to stop, we have something to say, we have to talk about the little story endlessly.

There was a monk who went to visit the shipwreck Zen master, and met an old man selling salt on the way. The monk asked, "I'm going to visit the shipwreck Zen master, how do I get there?" ”

The old man was speechless for a long time, so the monk asked again: "May I ask how to go to the oversized ship?" ”

Unexpectedly, the old man asked, "Are you deaf?" ”

The monk was puzzled and asked, "What did you tell me?" ”

"Tell you the way to the shipwreck." The old man said.

"Could it be that your old man can also Zen?"

"Not to mention Zen, but also to Dharma."

So the monk said, "Since you know Zen, please tell me about it." ”

The old man pointed to the salt in the basket and asked, "What do you call this?" ”

The monk replied, "Salt." And asked, "What is your name?" ”

The old man replied, "Don't tell you salt!" ”

But how to mention it euphemistically?

One day, as soon as Zen Master Foyin and a few disciples were sitting in the room, his old friend Dongpo suddenly visited. Zen Master Foyin looked around the room and said casually: "There is no place to sit here, where do you want to sit?" ”

"Then sit with the four bodies of the Zen master." The Dongpo layman, who likes Zen debate, replied half-jokingly.

The Zen master said, "I have a question, if you can answer it, you can sit as you like." If you can't answer, you will lose the jade belt tied around your waist. Do you dare? ”

Dongpo happily promised.

The Zen master asked, "The layman said that he wanted to sit on my four great bodies, but these four great bodies were originally empty, so where do you sit?" ”

Dongpo couldn't answer for a while, so he really untied the jade belt and left it in the temple as a souvenir, which is still preserved in Jinshan Temple. ”

Wen Dao is a Yunshui monk, who has long admired the Taoist style of Zen Master Huixun, and came all the way to the cave where the Zen master lived, and prayed:

"At the end of the study of Wendao, Su Yang Zen Master Gao Feng, made a special trip to get close to and serve, and asked the monk to be merciful and teach!"

Because it was late in the evening, Zen Master Hui Xun said, "It's getting late, let's stay for the night!" ”

The next morning, when Wen Dao woke up, Zen Master Hui Xun had already gotten up and cooked the porridge.

During the meal, because there was no extra bowl in the cave, Zen Master Hui Xun casually took a skull outside the cave and served porridge to Wen Dao. Wen Dao felt very uneasy and refused to use it.

So Zen Master Hui Xun said, "How can you attain enlightenment if you deal with things with purity and love and hatred? ”

When Zen Master Daokai became a monk, he made a heavy oath in front of his parents: "Don't be for fame, learn the Tao sincerely, be willing to give up your life." "Qiyin

After attaining the Tao, he expounded the style of Zen sect and became famous far and wide. The local officials informed the imperial court, and the emperor gave a purple robe and named the Zen master to show his commendation. After the Zen master thanked him, he always explained the reason and refused to accept the reward. The emperor issued an edict again, but the Zen master still insisted on not accepting it, so he was convicted of resisting the decree and will be sent to Zizhou.

Because of their admiration for the virtue and prestige of the Zen master, the official signaled that the Zen master could be exempted from punishment if he was sick. The official asked, "Are you sick?" ”

"Not sick." The Zen master replied.

"I heard that there are sores on my body."

"I used to have, but now it's better."

The official asked the Zen master to think again.

The Zen master said, "I have received your kindness, but you must not ask for peace in vain. ”

So the Zen master happily went to Zizhou to serve his sentence, and there were many people who saw him off. ”

"Zen Master Xuefeng went to Lizhou with Zen Master Yantou, but encountered snow on the way, could not move forward, and stayed for several days. Zen Master Xuefeng is diligent in zazen every day, and he never slackens. And the Yantou Zen Master just eats and sleeps, which seems very leisurely.

Zen Master Xuefeng complained: "Senior brother, you always sleep, why don't you care about me? ”

Zen Master Yantou: "What are you doing all the time sitting?" ”

Zen Master Xuefeng pointed to his chest and said, "I am not at peace, how dare I deceive myself?" ”

Zen Master Iwatou felt that the opportunity was ripe, so he said compassionately, "If this is the case, you can tell me your opinion." I will seal you what is right, and I will break it for you what is wrong. ”

Zen Master Xuefeng told him about the Zen method he had learned. When Zen Master Yantou heard this, he said in a loud voice, "Haven't you heard of it? Those who enter through the door are not treasures. ”

Zen Master Xuefeng: "What should I do in the future?" ”

Zen Master Yantou: "The true enlightenment lies in the direct commitment." If you preach the great teachings, the words you speak must flow from your breasts, and you must be able to stand up to the heavens and the earth. ”

After hearing this, Zen Master Xuefeng realized that he hurriedly got up and prayed. ”

"In the fifth dynasty, Liu Wangli of the Later Han Dynasty invited the Yunmen Zen Master and his monks to spend the summer in the palace. King Liu and his family offered to the monks, and asked them about the Dharma to participate in Zen, Yingying Yanyan, lively and extraordinary, only the Yunmen Zen Master sat silently.

There was an official on duty in the hall who often saw this situation, so he asked the Yunmen Zen Master for instructions, but the Yunmen Zen Master was always silent and did not answer.

The official had an understanding, so he wrote a poem and posted it in front of the temple. The poem reads:

The practice of great wisdom begins with Zen,

Zen should be silent and not noisy,

How to tell the truth,

Lose but Zen is always silent. ”

Once, the poet Bai Juyi asked Zen Master Weikuan: "How to practice body, mouth and mind?" ”

Weikuan Zen Master: "The supreme Bodhi is the law of the body, the Dharma is said in the mouth, and the heart is Zen." The application is three, and it is also one. Such as Jianghuai River Han, different names everywhere. Although the name is different, the water is the same. The law is the law, the law is not separated from Zen, and the body, mouth and mind are not separated from the heart. Where is the cloud in the middle, vainly different? ”

Bai Juyi: "There is no difference, how can you cultivate your mind?" ”

Weikuan Zen Master: "The heart is not damaged, why should the cloud be cultivated?" You know, whether it's dirt or purity, don't think about anything! ”

Bai Juyi: "Don't think about dirt, of course it should be, if you don't think about purity, how can you do it?" ”

Zen Master Weikuan: "Although gold is good, gold dust can cause disease when it gets into the eyes. Dark clouds can obscure the sky, and so can white clouds. ”

Bai Juyi: "No cultivation and no thoughts, how is it different from ordinary people?" ”

Weikuan Zen Master: "Ordinary people are ignorant, the two vehicles are attached, and the two diseases of ignorance and attachment are the true cultivation. True cultivators should not be too diligent, nor should they forget. Those who are diligent are close to attachment, and those who forget are in ignorance, which is the heart! ”

Bai Juyi became enlightened, and finally became a practitioner of Buddhism. ”
