Chapter 520: Academic Origins
Xiao Tianshu saw that Nian Fu's eyes were complicated, and he thought that he couldn't blindly excite him, he didn't enter the Taoist temple system to study, but he was just a local ancestral heirloom learning onmyoji, but he could be regarded as an academic source with some ability, and he couldn't bully people by a little chance!
Xiao Tianshu said with a smile: "Actually, it's not how powerful my master is, it's also due to the far-reaching Taoist culture, even if it is a scattered immortal who cultivates in the deep mountains and valleys, he still has real skills, and it has nothing to do with whether he has a degree or not!" ”
Nian Fu smiled and said: "Hehe, Brother Xiao is modest, those who have a degree are regular Taoist disciples, we are just sideways!" How can it be compared with your orthodox Taoism! Although he said so, his face was much more relaxed than before.
Xiao Tianshu said with a smile: "Brother Nian's words are wrong, you are also a kind of Taoist system, and the folk Taoist beliefs can all rely on the onmyoji!" ”
Nian Fu smiled and said, "Hehe......"
Xiao Tianshu saw the reluctance of the reluctance to smile, so he said: "Taoism is the native religion of China, and its emergence is a long process, which is closely related to Chinese history, culture, and politics. As a native religion in China, Taoism has commonalities with world religions, which are embodied in four aspects of religion: philosophy, history, literature, and theology. If we trace it from the philosophical aspect, the guiding ideology of Taoism can be traced back to the pre-Qin Laozi period, and found from the perspective of literature and theology, then the ancient and founding emperors and Guangchengzi are all Taoist figures. But this is not true. Therefore, if we want to obtain relatively objective knowledge about the emergence of Taoism, we can only start from a historical perspective and from various documents to find the way of the emergence of Taoism in the real society. ”
Nian Fu said with a smile: "We know that the ancient beliefs originated from the fear of the unknown, so from the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, the land of China is actually similar to India, a world where multiple gods coexist. And most of them are primitive worship, with natural elements as objects of worship. In the later period, various "immortals" who were above the demons and monsters gradually appeared, but they were also free and unsystematic. And these "immortals" are all illusory, so Qin Shi Huang failed to find the slightest trace of the power of the whole country, but driven by the desire of the ruling class to pursue immortality, a large number of alchemists appeared, seeking immortal alchemy, longevity and longevity as their profession, and left quite a lot of folklore when fooling the emperor. ”
Although in the end these alchemists were disposed of for "bullying the king", out of the unwillingness of the ruling class itself to deny their own intelligence, it is generally said that these people are "feathered" to ascend to immortals, and among the ignorant people, this kind of story is even more miraculous.
Xiao Tianshu said with a smile: "In the early days of the Western Han Dynasty, the "Huang Laozhixue" with Taoist thought as its true color occupied the dominant ideological position in the ruling class. Subsequently, because Dong Zhongshu's Han Confucianism was born, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty respected Confucianism alone, and Huang Lao's learning sank into folk beliefs. Folk beliefs have always existed and are polytheistic, because of the power of the state, and gradually began to use the Yellow Emperor and Lao Tzu as idols of faith. At the same time, because there are many and complicated folk gods and ghosts, someone finally began to sort it out and wrote the "Taiping Sutra". This book is a large collection of spontaneous beliefs, and there are all kinds of gods and goddesses in it. With the advent of the Taiping Sutra, folk beliefs began to converge. These simple and loose beliefs in the gods and goddesses have slowly formed a universal and relatively fixed belief in the continuous circulation, that is, the "Taiping Dao". In the same period, there was also the "Five Bucket Rice Sect". ”
Nian Fu said with a smile: "I know this, it is generally believed that "Taiping Dao" and "Wudou Mijiao" are the predecessors of Taoism. However, it is only a grass platform team, which has begun to take shape, and has not formed a pattern such as a sect. ”
Xiao Tianshu said with a smile: "Taoism was formed in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and religion has four judging criteria: sacredness, idolization, ritualization, and organization. The sanctification of Taoism has always been sublimated, from the earliest primitive worship to the later belief in immortals, the immortals from being at ease, walking against the wind and gradually calling for wind and rain, omnipotent, which are constantly strengthening the sacredness. Idol is from the beginning of the sinking of Huang Laozhi and the combination of folk beliefs, until the emergence of Taishang Laojun, the ranking of the gods and Buddhas in the "True Spirit Position Industry Map", and later "Journey to the West" and "Fengshen Bang" through the form that the people like to see to build the immortal system, including Judge Cui and Guan Yunchang, these characters become gods, these are all idolization, passive or active improvement of the Taoist immortal system. ”
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Buddhism officially entered the Central Plains. Inspired by Buddhism, these indigenous sects of the gods and goddesses in China began to operate in an organized manner. Because the primitive immortal religion was backed by the philosophy of Huang Lao, Taoism practiced the doctrine of taking it, and took all Taoist ideas and became the guiding ideology of Taoism. This is where the name of Taoism comes from.
Nian Fu said: "Taoism worships the Yellow Emperor as the ancestor, Lao Tzu as the Taoist ancestor, and Zhang Daoling as the ancestor. Zhang Daoling, the "patriarch of the religion", made ritualization and organization, and established a new religious organization and sect - Taoism on the basis of "Taiping Dao" and "Wudoumi Sect". The Taoist school of thought is dominated by the ideas of Laozi and Zhuangzi. Although Taoism and Taoism are related, they are only related to Taoism, and some religious activities are actually contrary to Taoism's idea of "ruling by doing nothing". Therefore, there have always been three major schools within Taoism: the ideological school, the alchemy school, and the Fu Zheng school. The first two are Taoist thought and immortal beliefs, the pursuit of inaction and immortality, the Fu Zheng faction is the ranking of seats, talking about identity, this is far from Lao Tzu's thoughts, but ordinary believers don't care about these, because of the world, the Fu Zheng sect is easier for believers to accept, because this means that the master and the sect recognize themselves, which is a kind of identity recognition. ”
Xiao Tianshu said with a smile: "Hahaha, you also said that you are not an orthodox Taoist, and even know all this, but at the same time, the Fu Zheng sect is also the sect that pays the most attention to rules and rituals, and has completed the sacredness, idolization, ritualization, and organization, and Taoism has been officially formed." As for the later use of the Li Tang Dynasty to prosper, and the convergence of Confucianism and Buddhism, learning from each other and coexisting, that is a later story. ”
Nian Fu smiled: "In fact, I have always had doubts about the unity of the three religions, you say that our Chinese Taoism, this is the thought left by the ancestors, Confucian culture is also regarded as traditional Chinese thought, the most incomprehensible is Buddhism and Taoism, Confucianism, how can the three religions be integrated!" ”
Xiao Tianshu said: "I also asked Lu Zu this question, isn't there a story that is very famous, you should always know the story of Lu Zu's beheading of the Yellow Dragon, right?" ”
Nian Fu smiled and said: "I don't understand, our Chinese state religion, Taoism and Taoist ancestors, let a bald donkey be ruined!" ”
