Chapter 374: Cultivating to the Dao
Xiao Tianshu thought to himself, which legends in history, the emperor who was eaten to death by Jin Dan, are they just rumors? I didn't have time, I had to listen to what Lu Dongbin had to say if I thought about it, after all, this is the authority, and the gods are here, so I don't believe it.
Lu Dongbin said with a smile: "("Jindan Chapter") emphasized: "You can't have Jindan, but those who take herbs and trees and cultivate small techniques can prolong their lives and die, and they can't be immortals." ("Extreme Words") believes that the golden pill obtained by refining is a high-grade magic medicine that burns for a longer time and changes more wonderfully, and it can be immortal all day long, and it can be immortal if you take it.
He said: "The five grains can still live, and if a person gets it, he will live, and if he does not die, what is more, the magic medicine of the highest grade, will it not benefit people ten thousand times more than the five grains?" Fu Jindan is a thing, and the longer it is burned, the more wonderful the change will be. Gold into the fire, refining will not disappear, buried in the sky immortal. Taking these two things can refine the human body, so it can make people immortal. That is to say, people can use external objects to strengthen their bodies, that is, the human body can absorb the supernatural properties of the outside world such as Jindan through a certain way, and the body can be immortal. He also quoted "Lao Tzu Jue" to argue the importance of gold pill for immortality: "The son must not return the gold liquid of the pill, and he will be bitter in vain." In short, only Jindan can make people immortal and always be in harmony with heaven and earth.
He also said: "Hug Puzi also praised the special features of Jindan: "Although breathing, guiding and taking herbs and trees can prolong life, and it is not immune to death." Serving the god pill makes people live an infinite life, and the heaven and earth are finished, riding the clouds and driving the dragon, and the top and bottom are too clear. ("Jindan Chapter)"
Xiao Tianshu thought to himself, Taoism, as a traditional religion native to China, has formed its own unique concept of happiness with the basic belief of "attaining the Tao and becoming immortals". For thousands of years, Taoism has called for "contentment and happiness", putting taking care of the body and living happily at the first level of the doctrine, and its love for life has formed the distinctive characteristics of the Taoist concept of happiness.
In addition, Taoism believes that the human body and mind are inseparable, so happiness also depends on the harmony of the body and mind. The causes of human suffering are not only physical pain, but also excessive human desire - lust. Lust is the root of all evil and all diseases. If a person is riddled with lust, he will inevitably be careful in life and work, suffering from gains and losses, and over time, accumulation of hard work will become a disease, which will damage his physical and mental health. The Taoist concept of happiness also revolves around what kind of attitude people should adopt towards "desires" in order to make the body free of pain and the spirit free of distractions.
That Taoism saw that people lived in a secular society and had to face all kinds of material temptations all day long. When external temptations such as sight, sound, taste, and sensation come one after another, if people can't resist the temptation, they will indulge in the enjoyment of the physical senses. When people look at the colorful colors for a long time, they will be dazzled, and eventually damage their eyesight; Listening to beautiful music for a long time will buzz in the ears and eventually damage the hearing; If you enjoy the delicacies of the mountains and seas for a long time, you will lose your appetite and eventually have a bad appetite; If you are obsessed with galloping horses and hunting, you will let go of your mind and eventually go crazy; The obsession with the coveting of precious goods will lead to the desire to plot against the enemy.
Xiao Tianshu said: "Master Zu, how to solve the emperors who died early after taking pills in history? ”
Lu Dongbin said with a smile: "Ordinary people are tired of things, and their hearts are servitudes:" Ordinary people can't keep the truth, there is no check to suppress it, love and hobbies are shaken, galloping and retreating, there is confusion and no reaction, emotions and things arise outside, wisdom takes things and overflows, tempting to desire, and the reason of heaven is extinguished, confused by what you see and hear, and pure and moving. The heart is subject to extravagance, and the emotions are turbid and chaotic, so there is a disaster of overturning and a disaster of depression. "People's desires swell up with sensual enjoyment, resulting in fame and fortune, disgusting, right and wrong, lust and rain, if not satisfied one by one, the light will make people feel unhappy, and even painful; In the worst case, it will make people uneasy, confused, sick, and even decay and death! ”
Taoism advocates Lao Tzu's principle of "seeing simplicity and embracing simplicity, less selfishness and few desires" as the principle of happiness in life, requiring people to maintain simplicity in words and deeds, reduce selfish distractions, reduce the pursuit of lust, fame and fortune, reasonably control their desires, hold the middle moderately, neither indulge nor forbid desires, in order to obtain the happiness of "tranquility and pleasure". From a positive point of view, the admiration of fame can enhance people's spiritual realm, and then promote the construction of spiritual civilization in human society; The emphasis on Lilu can satisfy people's needs for material interests and promote the construction of material civilization in human society.
Lu Dongbin also said: "From a negative point of view, if people excessively pursue fame and fortune, and indulge excessively in eating and drinking, men and women, and dogs and horses, it is not conducive to physical and mental health. As the twelfth chapter of Lao Tzu says: "Hunting in the fields makes the heart mad", if you indulge in material desires, sensual pleasures and the love of men and women for a long time, it will be harmful to your physical and mental health; If you pursue fame and power excessively, it will lead to unexpected disasters, so it is said that "there is no greater disaster than discontentment", and only by being poor and happy can we achieve happiness. ”
Therefore, in the view of Taoism, only immortals can abandon sensual pleasures such as sound and sex, and do not admire vanity such as fame and fortune, but to eliminate annoyance with quietness, control anger with quietness, eliminate heat with quietness, settle their minds with quietness, and maintain health with quietness, and pursue the spiritual realm in harmony with the way of nature in silence.
When Ge Hong, a Taoist thinker in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, talked about the method of cultivating immortals, he took the life of Tianyue as the starting point of learning immortals: "The method of learning immortals, if you want to get pleasure and happiness, get rid of cravings, look and listen inwardly, and the corpse is unintentional." "If a person wants to cultivate into an immortal, he must hold the mentality of "less selfishness and few desires", look inward at the dantian, and do not hear the outside sound in both ears, only the body and mind are silent and pleasant. "If a person can be quiet and pleasant, unstained and unswerving, nourish his heart with no desire, worship his spirit with pure elements, sweep away the temptation, collect it with righteousness, remove the thoughts that are difficult to seek, send away the real tiredness, the evil of joy and anger, and destroy the end of love and evil, then he will not invite blessings and blessings, and will not cause disasters and disasters."
From this, Ge Hong further deduced: "The key to seeking longevity and cultivating to the Tao lies in ambition, not in wealth and nobility." "A life of wealth hinders one's monasticism. Only by being happy with poverty and repressing, can we make the heart calm and condensed, the spirit condensed and gathered, and the qi gathered and reborn, and the ideal of "becoming an immortal" pursued by Taoism can be achieved in the physical and mental health.
Xiao Tianshu thought to himself, yes! People in the world often say that the pill is to death, but unfortunately the world is greedy and excessive, and how many people are sincere, cultivating to become immortals, and sincerely cultivating to the avenue of sincerity and faith!
If not, how can you only look at the cultivation of elixir, immortality, and covet the beauty of the world, which is not comparable in the first place, and the gains will outweigh the losses!
Where is there anyone who gets all the things of his heart at the same time? Life is to let the human body taste the ups and downs, and then you can see through the world.
