Chapter 585: Evil Cycle Stops Desire
We must be vigilant, people must understand their own position, they must think about what virtue they can do, spend money or worship a teacher to learn such a powerful spell or charm, if they can spread it without restrictions, a certain virtuous and respected great virtue will make it public, so that the people can learn it, so that it is not beneficial to the country and the people, and the merit is immeasurable.
Virtuous, this sentence is also suitable for these people who want to learn Taoism, only profound virtue can support the effectiveness of magic.
Some young people enter the Tao and fantasize that they want to worship a "god immortal" or "master" as a teacher, and they can learn powerful spells and supernatural powers by apprenticing to the master, or if they want to cultivate the Dan Dao, they will be able to get through the two veins of Rendu and the big and small Zhou Tian after apprenticing.
Just imagine, there are thousands of cultivators, those who started before you, those who have better understanding than you, those who have deep blessings, and great merits, so why are there so few cultivators, and how can they be favored by this god and immortal?
None of this is practical, practice is a step-by-step process, you have to be down-to-earth, learn slowly, and everything will go naturally.
Cultivate humanity, re-enlighten the immortal way, use the Tao to control the arts, promote the Tao with art, cultivate virtue with goodness, and cultivate the Tao with virtue. Only then can we get a glimpse of the way of heaven and be consummated.
Every time Zuo Run went to the fourth uncle's house, the fourth uncle would always tell him the story of Ah Mao.
The fourth uncle is old and easy to forget, but every time he mentions Ah Mao, he is always in tears, and Zuo Run, who is a junior, also squats patiently next to him and listens.
Ah Mao is not a person, but a cow from the fourth uncle's family.
When the fourth uncle first met Ah Mao, Ah Mao was still a calf at that time, but he was a sick cow, and it was very difficult to even stand up.
The cattle dealer was in a hurry to make a move, and the fourth uncle relented and bought it. For this matter, the fourth aunt also said that the fourth uncle was a loser and bought back a cow that could eat grass, the fourth uncle just smiled innocently, and then went to find the freshest grass for Ah Mao to eat.
Ah Mao just called "moo" there, and every time the fourth uncle came over, he rubbed the fourth uncle's trouser leg with a bull's nose to show friendship.
Spring goes to autumn, and under the careful care of the fourth uncle, Ah Mao can not only walk, but also get stronger and stronger.
The cattle that have just been ploughed by other people's families are basically ploughed only when they are beaten with blurred flesh and blood, but Ah Mao put on the cow coat with peace of mind and followed the fourth uncle to plow the land.
Whenever the fourth uncle was busy and tired, Ah Mao lay on the ridge, the fourth uncle sang mountain songs there, Ah Mao listened quietly, and from time to time dusted off the insects and mosquitoes on the fourth uncle's body with his tail.
The surrounding neighbors were envious when they saw it, and the fourth aunt also smiled from ear to ear.
One night, the surroundings were very quiet, but the fourth uncle and the fourth aunt couldn't sleep, and the two tossed and turned for a long time, but they didn't feel the slightest sleep.
At this time, the fourth uncle heard the knock of the back door, and the fourth uncle opened the door to take a look, and found that Ah Mao was using a bull's horn at the top door.
The fourth uncle thought that Ah Mao was hungry, so he went to get some forage for Ah Mao to eat. But Ah Mao didn't eat it, but just bit the fourth uncle's trouser leg with his mouth and dragged it out.
Where is the strength of a person compared to a cow, and the fourth uncle's trouser legs are torn.
At this time, the fourth aunt just came out, and seeing that the fourth uncle's pants had been torn, she picked up the stick next to her and hit Ah Mao.
Ah Mao also ran to the fourth aunt at this time, the fourth aunt thought that Ah Mao was retaliating, and was so frightened that she hid in the house, Ah Mao generally did not enter the main house, but today was an exception, and the fourth aunt was dragged outside.
The fourth uncle and the fourth aunt finally couldn't resist, so Ah Mao ran outside the house. But as soon as she came out, the fourth aunt thought that the chicken soup in her kitchen was still stewed, and she was afraid that it would be mushy, so she went to the house.
Ah Mao was lying in front of the house at this time, dead or alive, letting the fourth aunt beat and scold, and at this time Ah Mao was on the ground like a wronged child.
The fourth uncle pulled the fourth aunt distressed and told him not to fight.
After a while, there was a sudden "boom", and the whole house collapsed.
Mao was crushed into the ruins of the house, and Mao spat out blood in his mouth, and there were cloudy tears in the corners of his eyes.
Later, the people of the village heard the sound and rushed to find out what was going on.
It turned out that the old house had been underrepaired all year round, and the beams and pillars had been corroded by termites, and Ah Mao did this just to rescue his uncle and aunt.
The fourth uncle recalled that the sky was very bright that night, as if there was a meteor streaked past, and the fourth uncle always said that it was Ah Mao.
Can't stop your desires?
People are controlled by excessive desires, which leads to what seems to be for themselves, but in fact they harm themselves, so people need to treat desires correctly. To treat desires correctly, you need to have the right way to deal with desires.
In this regard, there are many ways to regulate and control the Daomen, which are summarized in four aspects: not revealing the things that cause greed, not pursuing things that belong to greed, seeing clearly the harm caused by greed, and pursuing things of a higher level, in short, "not seeing desires, not exceeding desires, seeing the harms, and pursuing higher".
Invisible desires keep the mind from being disturbed.
If a person throws money into the sky in the busy city, it will inevitably cause a commotion and looting of the crowd and a chaotic disorder in the market order, which is a kind of artificially created "desire to see".
Therefore, the first of these methods is to avoid revealing things that are sufficient to arouse greed, so that the minds of the people will not be disturbed.
"Tao Te Ching" says: "Inexpensive and rare goods, so that the people are not thieves, do not see what they want, so that the people's hearts are not confused." ”
"Yi" said: "Those who make "Yi" know that they are stealing and multiply, and they will be ruined. 'Thieves too. ”
The compiler of the I Ching knew thieves well, right? It says, "Carrying heavy loads on a magnificent vehicle will inevitably invite robbers." "That means the robbers were actually recruited by themselves!
For desire, the Taoist pursues conforming to nature and the unity of heaven and man, that is, the so-called "man is the law of the earth, the earth is the law of the sky, the heaven is the law, and the Tao is the nature".
Taishang Laojun advocates "non-action", and there are similarities between Taoist thought and traditional self-discipline, but it does not emphasize self-denial and pays attention to "shun".
Daomen thought believes that human beings are small in front of nature, so they should conform to nature and legal principles. Therefore, for human desires, the Taoist door focuses on "dredging".
The practice of Taoism must first be to know and act on desire, which is a mental activity that arises in a certain period of time, and is not constant, just as heaven and earth are killed, and the operation of life and death is changing in different time periods.
Don't be overdone, don't be humiliated.
People's grasp of desires also needs to follow the principle of moderation, know how to cherish what they have, and will not covet what they have not.
Knowing that satisfaction and moderation can be stopped, we will not be able to sink deeper and deeper into the quagmire of greed, we will not suffer the difficulties and dangers caused by greed, and we will be able to obtain a long-lasting peace.
People should not blindly covet other people's things, the important thing is to grasp what they have and learn to cherish it.
The concept of desire in the Dao Gate exists independently of any field, and it is difficult to produce its thinking form without a certain amount of wisdom in the understanding of the Tao, so here the practitioner speaks of the above personal understanding of desire, and also hopes that after reading these words, the good faith can have the most intuitive concept of the explanation of desire.
The Taoist keeps what he has, does not ask for what he has not obtained, and asks for what he has not obtained, that is, the owner dies, and follows what he has, that is, he who wants to come.
The Tao Te Ching says: "Contentment is not disgraceful, and knowing that it will not be destroyed, and it can last for a long time." ”
Recognize greed and see harm.
Only when we understand greed and see clearly the various harms of greed can we truly get rid of greed and avoid greed.
In all kinds of complex greed, people's five senses are exposed to various stimuli from the outside world, and it is easy to get lost in them and disturb the inner mind.
Only by understanding the truth that "less is gained, and more is confused" can people calm their minds and gain something.
When there are few colors, people can easily distinguish them, but when there are more colors, they are dazzled. All kinds of sounds appear at the same time, and they are not inaudible at all, and all kinds of flavors are mixed together, and you don't know what they taste when you eat them.
When you go out hunting, you will kill the strong and the weak, and you will catch big fish and small fish, and in the end you will not be able to keep your mind and be restless. Rare goods make people behave badly.
Taishang Laojun said: "The five colors are blinding, the five tones are deafening, the five flavors are refreshing, the galloping strategy is maddening, and the rare goods are in trouble." ”
Daomen advocates nature, there must be desires in nature, "Taishang Laojun Said Qingjing Sutra": how can desire be born, desire is not born, it is true quiet, the desire in people's hearts shows that from the moment people croaked to the ground, wow wow crying is to be able to eat, breathe air to survive the desire, is it also sinful, to abandon?
As we grow up, our desire to survive is changing, which requires people to control their desires and rationalize them, and to understand the rationality of their own desires, which is true tranquility.
See plain and simple, and pursue higher.
The door of greed does not lead to happiness, "There is no sin greater than desire, no misfortune is greater than discontent, and no blame is greater than desire." Therefore, it is necessary to start from the opposite side of desire, and obtain happiness by "seeing simplicity and embracing simplicity, and less selfishness and few desires".
The so-called "minimalist life" is a kind of life of "seeing plain and embracing simplicity". Remove all unnecessary burdens, eliminate the indiscriminate exploitation of resources and the destruction of the environment, and pursue only a necessary and simple way of life.
The life of respecting the "Tao" seems to be simple and unpretentious, but it is actually a higher level of life.
People "see plain and embrace simplicity", show their true nature, keep their simplicity, and can not be affected by external objects. In a simple and simple life, "be willing to eat, dress beautifully, live in peace, and enjoy customs." ”
In Taishang Laojun's view, eliminating greed and returning to the basics is to open the door to a lifetime of happiness.
Because wishes are simple and natural, and you feel fulfilled all the time, this is true and long-lasting happiness.
As the saying goes, "I want to do it, and I will make it nameless." The town is nameless and simple, and the husband will not want it. If you don't want to be quiet, the world will be right."
Even if there is personal greed in self-generation and self-growth, if we use the simplicity and purity of the Tao to guide and control, and teach people to revere the simple and pure Tao, we will not produce all kinds of greed.
If there is no greed, return to the heart and be quiet, and the world will naturally return to peace and stability.
