Chapter 4: The Lonely Prince

Following the direction pointed out to her by her grandparents, she came to a large castle. Outside the two thick gates, stood several guards in armor and spears in their hands.

"Maybe some of them will know where the little prince is!" Thinking as he ran forward, he walked among the guards. The tower was just above the guard's waist, and at first, no one noticed the red-haired girl.

"Hey, hello!"

“...?” The helmet-wearing guards looked around, and finally found this half-human tall little girl, but because of the need for discipline, no one said anything.

"Why do you all look the same?"

"Shhhhh

So Tara ran up to the man and looked at him earnestly, as if she wanted to see his face through the armor. If that's the case, that's bad! Because the guard had never been stared at like this by a little girl, his face was hot and red at the moment.

"Have you seen the little prince?" Tartar asked.

"Prince?" The man said in a voice that could only be heard within half a meter: "The prince is not something that a little girl like you can see, so go home quickly!" ”

"Is the little prince really here?!" The guards panicked and tried to stop him, but the tower shouted loudly in a louder voice: "Little Prince, Little Prince, I am... Thorn Tower, I... Come... Look for... You... Finish! ”

As a result, the noisy tower was brought to the castle, a palace with a mirror ceiling. The spacious palace is flanked by many people dressed in beautiful clothes, who are the ministers, ladies and guards of the castle. In the distance, an ornate chair sits on a high platform, its high back blocking the light refracted by the stained glass behind it. There was a little boy sitting alone, dressed more beautifully than anyone else.

The tower looked curiously at the ceiling, and everyone's shadows were reflected on it, but it looked like everyone was upside down, as if their heads were facing the ground.

"When you see His Royal Highness the Prince, why don't you salute? Lady! An old senator with thick glasses on his nose said with a straight face.

"I'm not a lady, I'm a girl! Your glasses should be thrown in the stove!" Tsunta said angrily.

Everyone was horrified by the rude behavior of the tower, and only the prince on the throne laughed heartily. The maids and guards laughed when they saw the prince laughing, and more joined in laughing at the poor old senator, and at last the whole palace was filled with laughter.

"What's wrong with you? I'm not joking! Thorn Tower looked at them in confusion.

"Come here, come closer." The prince beckoned to the tower.

But not only did he run over, but he also jumped to the prince's platform with his skirt in his hand. The people standing at the bottom gasped, and the old nurse fainted because she was so nervous. Even the prince leaned back nervously in his chair because of the tower's sudden move.

The tower approached the prince and looked at the prince's face seriously, his long eyelashes were about to poke the prince's face, and the prince looked at the tower in a daze, so nervous that he forgot to breathe. Suddenly, the tower took a step back, tilted his head thoughtfully, and then jumped off the high platform again, and walked out of the palace without looking back.

"Stop her!" The prince shouted.

"You're not the little prince I'm looking for." Thorn Pagoda looked down at her bound hands.

The prince waved his hand for the people around him to leave, and then somewhat apologetically loosened the rope for the tower himself.

"Tell me, who are you looking for, I can help you!" The prince said.

“...”

Seeing the hesitation of the tower, the prince continued, "I can send many guards to help you find it on horseback, it must be much faster than you to find it yourself!" ”

"But why are you helping me?"

"You stay here and play with me until I find him, you're funny, more fun than all of them."

Tarta didn't find the prince in front of her interesting, but she was tired. And the prince has a point, four legs are better than two. So she gave the compass where the little prince could be found to His Royal Highness, and told him to look in the direction of the compass pointer, and if he got close to the person she was looking for, the needle would start to shake. Then he promised him that he could stay in the palace until he found her little prince again.

"Now, tell me who you're looking for. He's a prince too, and is his palace bigger than mine? ”

"The little prince doesn't live in the palace."

"How much more are his guards than mine?"

"He doesn't have any guards with him."

"And what kind of prince is he?"

"The little prince owns a whole planet, and I say he's a prince and he's a prince, and there's no need for proof!" Thorn Tower didn't like the person in front of him who claimed to be the prince, he was not at all like the little prince, he always looked high, and everyone around him was afraid of him.

The prince was afraid of the angry Tsara and was about to leave, and hurriedly apologized to her.

"I'll show you my garden, where there are all kinds of flowers."

Hearing that the prince had a garden with all kinds of flowers, the tower was happy again. Her favorite place used to be the Little Prince's garden.

The prince led the tower to the royal garden, where countless varieties of roses bloomed, all colors. There are also ponds with water lilies, beautiful lilies and hyacinths, several fountains with beautiful sculptures, and even more bizarrely, there is a labyrinth made of trees, and you can only see the whole maze by standing on the balcony on the top floor of the palace.

"Your garden is spectacular." "But the flowers don't tell stories or sing," said the prince, "and they all look the same." ”

The prince was very unhappy when he heard this, because the people around him would only say nice things to him, and no one was as unreasonable as the tower.

He also showed him a tour of his large two-story wardrobe, which was hung with the clothes he wore only for the winter. Those beautiful clothes, some of which were spun with golden silk threads, and some of which were inlaid with sparkling jewels, looked gorgeous.

Looking at the tattered cloak, he ordered the court tailor to sew a dress for the tower that was as beautiful as his own. He also hand-picked a beautiful clip inlaid with pearls and adorned it on her long red hair, making her look like a pretty little princess.

But Thornta felt that it was inconvenient for the long skirt to drag on the ground, and there was a strange corset.

"How do you bend over with it tied?"

"You don't have to bend down yourself, as long as you snap your fingers, someone will come up and pick up something that has fallen or lift a loose heel for you."

The prince sat elegantly at the sumptuous table, holding his head proud. He and Tsuta sat at opposite ends of a long dining table filled with all sorts of delicacies.

"We're going to have a party?" Tarta looked at the tempting food on the table, salivating.

"No, it's just the easiest dinner."

Tarta opened his eyes wide, and there were all kinds of delicacies and fine wines on the table, roast chicken, large pieces of beef, a whole duck, fish and lobster of various preparations, countless fresh fruits, three-tiered cakes and cherry pies that would only be laid out in the celebration... There are countless delicacies that she can't even see with her eyes.

She looked at the motionless maids and guards standing beside her.

"Don't they eat together?" Tartar asked.

"Of course, how can they dine with the noble prince."

"Shall I sit with you, then? It's so far away that I can't even hear you. ”

The prince was about to refuse, but the lovely tower was already sitting beside him.

Tinta lifted a basket of freshly baked bread and looked at the prince with a smile, "Do you want to know how to make things more delicious?" ”

The prince looked at the tower in confusion. In the next second, the tower took the prince's hand and ran out of the palace. Tartar dragged the prince through the fountain adorned with Cupid, the goddess of love, over a field of flowers with a crown of blue hyacinths and yellow daffodils, and hid under a stone bridge in the garden.

Watching his retinue look for them everywhere in the garden, the prince couldn't help but laugh.

"It's so funny, I didn't think of it before."

Horta looked at the busy figures with some apologies, and she sat on the edge of the pond and handed the basket of bread to the prince. The prince sat down beside her, took the bread, and ate it with a good taste.

"You're right, the food has really gotten tastier, I've never thought bread was so good."

Thorn Pagoda shook her head.

"What makes food delicious is hunger."

The tower pointed to the birds in the distance, pecking under the trees.

"Birds forage everywhere, and wolves in the forest prey on goats and rabbits, just to fill their stomachs. We shouldn't eat what we don't need because of desire. ”

The prince's words had caused the prince to fall into deep thought, and no one had ever told him such a truth.

After eating, Tsunta begged the prince to give her back her original clothes, because the beautiful dress on her body was too inconvenient. Changing into a short skirt and cloak darker than her hair, Tsunta said goodbye to the prince. She had stayed too long, and now she had to go in search of her little prince herself.

However, the prince did not want to leave, and he refused to give him back the compass that pointed out the young prince's position, and ordered him to be locked up in the castle.

At night, the prince had the tower sleep in front of his chamber, a small golden bed carved with roses. While everyone in the castle was asleep, Tartar opened her eyes on the silk cot, and the little maid who guarded her slept on the velvet cushion under the bed, and Tartar stepped over her carefully. Retrieve your own cloak from the hanger.

The prince was lying on a large bed that could seat at least 10 people, and at the foot of the bed was carved a golden lion with an open mouth, which looked lifelike. He hung the compass of the tower around his neck, and although he was asleep, he still held it tightly with both hands.

He's not a bad boy, but he's spoiled, Tara thought. On the prince's desk, she found a pair of small scissors and a quill pen. She cautiously walked to the prince's bed, which was so big that she had to venture into it to get to the prince.

Fortunately, the day's running made the prince sleep deeply, and Thorn Ta swept the prince's nose with the end of his feather, and quickly cut off the compass while he let go of his hand to rub his nose.

As she was about to climb out of bed, the prince muttered, so frightened that she didn't dare to breathe.

While playing in the garden during the day, she found a hole left by a small animal under the wall of roses. The hole is so small that adults with big heads can't put their heads in it. But the tower was small, and she easily got out of the hole.

She looked up at the sky, and although it wasn't as bright as it looked from her own planet, the twinkling stars were still beautiful, like white sugar sprinkled in the sky. Rubbing his wistful eyes, he set off in the direction indicated by the compass.
