Zhen Shiyin is out of the world

Zhen Shiyin's ordination is somewhat related to the "refining stones to make up the sky", "crazy Taoists", and "crazy monks" at the beginning. This is an outpouring of the author's own preconceived notions. Because as far as the author is concerned, the matter of red dust is somewhat governed by the mandate of heaven. This concept does not need to be criticized or praised, and it can be treated with a fair heart. I have always advocated that we should put ourselves in the shoes of what happened at that time and place. If I had written this book at that time, it would have been a question of whether I would have been able to reach the level of the author in terms of thinking. Zhen Shiyin's birth is actually very plain to write, and when you open a Chinese novel, this pattern can be said to be the same. Because denying this plot without being out of the norm will naturally be arbitrary. Zhen Shiyin's ordination is not an isolated event, and if you examine it in the context of the whole novel, you can naturally appreciate the author's deep meaning and subtlety.

Why did you become a monk? One of the most commonly used explanations is "see through the red dust". This is very interesting to say, because I think about what kind of shape "red dust" is, and how it can be "seen through". Is it round? I think of the word "broken" in "broken mirror reunion" and "broken gong". Is it a whole? I think of "throwing a pebble and breaking the tranquility of the water". Actually, I'm wrong, "see through" here is the meaning of seeing through, seeing through, and understanding the essence. Red dust is an abstract and concrete concept, it is abstract, it refers to the world, and it is concrete, it refers to the flying dust raised by cars and horses. Combined, it probably means that this world is just like flying dust—that's what I thought. What exactly is "Red Dust"? Why "see through the red dust"? I think it's probably because Hongchen has two bodies, "illusion" and "substance". The "red dust" of the "illusion" is prosperity, the traffic, the love of husband and wife, and the kindness of high-ranking officials...... It is the appearance of all dazzling eyes. The essence of red dust, in the words of Buddhism, is a lot of suffering; In layman's terms, it is a real life that contains many dark sides. Behind the prosperity, how much sad desolation; In the busy traffic, there are several hardships in life; After the love of husband and wife, how many farces in "Zhuangzi Xiu Drumming into a Pot" (Ming Feng Menglong's "Warning to the World" Volume II) are there; Among the high-ranking officials, how many intrigues and deceitful are hidden......

For "illusion" and "substance", ordinary people will naturally treat it in a general way: for the happiness of "one or two", they often pay "eight or nine" sorrow and pain. It is precisely because of this that there is this great world; It is precisely because of this that there will be the complexity of this world; It is precisely because of this that the Buddha had the idea of purifying all sentient beings; It is precisely because of this that there are all kinds of religions, beliefs, and others that save mortals from the red dust.

In my humble opinion, there are only two kinds of real dust: first, he has not been affected by any worldly influence since he was a child, he is born with wisdom, he is related to the Buddha and immortals, and he is a natural duster. Tang Sanzang in "Journey to the West" is like this. Although Sanzang is a character in the novel, I am convinced that there must be such a character in the earthly world. The second is Zhen Shiyin, who is the author of this article - a character who sees through the red dust and comes out of the dust. This category abounds in Chinese records. Zhen Shiyin's appearance in "Dream of Red Mansions" is the result of the misfortune of the family and the cold state of the world. There is also a Liu Xianglian, but she came out of the dust because she broke the love barrier. Although they can all be described as "dust", the "dust" is also different.

Zhen Shiyin's dust seems to be fate. The author makes it clear: he is old in the red dust, and he already has the appearance of a fairy: "tranquil nature", "not thinking of merit", "watching flowers and cultivating bamboo", "drinking wine and chanting poetry". This laid the groundwork for his old peerless appearance.

Zhen Shiyin is kind to others, which can be read from between the words. If nothing else, you can roughly understand his attitude and behavior towards Jia Yucun. In my imagination, he is a gentleman. One is wealthy, and the other is knowledgeable. According to the usual pattern, he should be full of children and grandchildren. But he is half a hundred years old, but he has no children. In Chinese culture, this is the first major imperfection of his old age.

Maybe it was God's favor that Zhen Shiyin gave birth to a daughter. If you are old enough to get a woman, you must love her and she will not lose to the "old man". Who would have thought that this precious daughter was actually a "thing that has no luck and no life, and affects her father's mother". In the following Lantern Festival, he responded to the proverbs of "leper monk" and "lame Taoist". The blow to Zhen Shiyin from the loss of the lantern is unimaginable. The mental trauma of the loss of a daughter in old age to Zhen Shiyin is comparable to the "loss of a child in old age" of the "three sorrows". In the concept of Chinese culture, life must be guarded and relied on. After Zhen Shiyin's only daughter disappeared, he was "old and helpless", and the problem here is not only the problem of material support, but also the problem of spiritual dependence. "The only daughter has been lost", Zhen Shiyin's spirit in the second half of his life will be in a state of wandering and exile, and this burden requires great courage to face and bear. What to do? This is a very tricky question!

Zhen Yinglian's disappearance is the collapse of Zhen Shiyin's spiritual world. For the "tranquil" old man, after the loss of his beloved daughter, even if he has thousands of family fortunes, it doesn't mean much. Therefore, the author added a fire at this time and burned down the Zhen family's real estate. At this time, Zhen Shiyin, in addition to his old wife and the few assets he had left, was even more pitiful than ordinary people.

The loss of a daughter and the blow of the fire, for Zhen Shiyin, can be said to be a natural disaster, the result of the impermanence of life. The cold reception he received when he went to his father-in-law's house can only be explained as a human favor, which is a manifestation of the cold state of the world.

After this series of events, Zhen Shiyin's peerless appearance has become inevitable. Otherwise, he may end up going crazy (in fact, the difference between a philosopher and a madman is the fine line).

Peerless is not a rebellion against society, but a detachment from the world. Where is the deep meaning of "Okay Song"? In my humble opinion, that is, in order to be "good", you must first "go".
