Chapter 5: First Arrival in Ali

Okay, that's too much, back to the point.

After graduating from university in 2012, I couldn't suppress my heart for a while, so I took the initiative to report to Ali after graduating as a civil servant. Also because of what happened in Linzhou County Hospital at that time, I had no interest in practicing medicine, and even a little afraid, so I applied for the civil service examination and embarked on another path......

Ali, people who haven't been to Ali don't know. In the brainwashing text, the so-called "Tibet to the west is the real Tibet", which is enjoyable to read, and only those who have experienced it know the taste.

I went to Ali in August 2012. From Lhasa, I found a car for the Hui elder brother to go to Ali, of course, he went to the border guard certificate in advance, and the four people in the same company did not know each other, and they did not talk much along the way, but the driver of the Hui brother loved to chat, but the others were not interested.

In August, it was the height of summer, but it was really cold all the way west along Lhasa. It was more than 20 hours to sit in the car, and at the Mayouqiao checkpoint, there was bad weather on this trip, thunder and lightning were combined, large hailstones smashed on the car, and there were bursts of crashing sounds.

The altitude of Mayou Bridge is very high, 5,000 meters smaller, and at that time, I felt that one by one the explosions were roaring overhead, as if a fellow Taoist was crossing the catastrophe.

About three or four o'clock in the morning to the Shiquan River - the town where the Ali Prefectural Committee and the Administration is located, get off the car, the oncoming cold wind caught people off guard, did not see how many degrees, anyway, the temperature is very low, live in the Yan'an Hotel that just entered the Shiquan River, the price is not low, more than two hundred, the elevation of the Shiquan River is six or seven hundred meters higher than Lhasa, or can be clearly felt.

The hot water in the hotel is supplied for a limited time, I can't remember the specifics, it is about 12 o'clock in the evening after the supply, and then the supply starts at 8 o'clock in the morning, it may be much better now, I heard that the Shiquan River has been heated since 2016.

Early the next morning, I went to the Ali District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau to report, got the dispatch certificate, and was assigned to the Ali District Reform County.

There was a small episode in the middle, for some reason, the regional human resources and social security bureau did not have my name at that time, saying that it was not passed from Lhasa, but I had a certificate sent to Ali from Lhasa, just like that, the leader of the human resources and social security bureau was not there, and a small section member was very impatient to ask me to go back and wait.

I said to myself, that's not going to work, when will this happen? I called a friend, and my friend called his relatives who were leaders in Ali, and the leader came forward to solve the problem.

I got the dispatch certificate, ate and copied my hands in the small restaurant of Shiquanhe, and looked at the map of Tibet posted on the wall by the way.

From the map, it is very far away from the Shiquan River, in the Shiquan River to the east, and also far from Lhasa, and in Lhasa all the way to the west.

At that time, I heard that Ali seven counties are exquisite, the so-called east three west four, the east three counties: Cuoqin County, Gaize County, Geji County, and the west four counties: Zada County, Pulan County, Ritu County, Gar County.

Anyone who has been to Ali knows that Ali Sanwei, that is, Pulan surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Ritu surrounded by lakes, and Zada surrounded by soil forests, and Gar County is the county where the Shiquan River is located.

After two days at Shiquan River, we took a bus to Gaize. Arrived at 10 o'clock in the morning the next day, 12 hours, 600 kilometers, the road condition was very poor, the muddy road was muddy after being hit by the rain, the road was bumpy, and the people were all yellowish when they got off the bus, no exaggeration.

When it was time to change the rules, the weather was very good, the sun was shining in the sky, and the sky was exceptionally blue, even bluer than the sky in Lhasa. I called the fellow who worked in the reform system, and on Saturday, he had not gotten up yet, and waited for half an hour in the square opposite the county government and the government of the change before he was late. That fellow is the third brother at home, and I call him the third brother.

After the third brother met with me, he asked a friend to pull my luggage and arrange me in the turnover room assigned to him by the unit, the house was good, 180 square meters, everything was available, except for no water. I had to fetch water from a well a few hundred meters away from the house, a feature that I maintained until 2014, when I left the reform.

In other words, there is no running water in the entire county. The altitude of the change is higher than that of the Shiquan River, with an average altitude of 4,700 meters.

Next, I stayed in Gaize County for two days, and on Monday I went to the County Human Resources and Social Security Bureau to get a dispatch certificate and sent him to Dongcuo Township, which is very close to the county seat.

It's very close, but it's relative. Dongcuo Township is sixty or seventy kilometers away from Gaize County, but it still takes an hour and a half by car, and the road conditions are not good.

Some distant townships, such as Xianxianxiang, Chabu Township, Gumu Township, etc., take four or five hours by car. Of course, this is the result of the third brother's activities, or maybe he will go to the advance.

At that time, Brother Bao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dongcuo Township, was the old leader of the third brother, and the relationship between the two was very good.

Because the township canteen had not yet been done at that time, and the township could not buy vegetables, it was necessary to buy a box of vegetables in the county vegetable store and bring them to the township to eat. In comparison, Dongcuo Township is close to the county seat, and it is more convenient, and those far away townships often pull a cart of vegetables back.

The temperature is not high, it is very dry, and it is placed in a shady place, and you can eat it for a long time without a refrigerator without spoiling.

After visiting the dock, Brother Bao also took good care of me and arranged to live with the deputy township chief (at that time, there was not enough turnover housing in the township, and it was normal for several people to live together).

The deputy township chief is a native of Gansu, with a rare surname, the surname is Ma, everyone calls him Maxiang, and those who are close to him are called Brother Ma. Brother Ma is a very good person, good-tempered, warm-hearted, you can ask him if you don't understand anything.

At the beginning, I was doing secretarial work, and there was a big brother who went two years earlier than me to take me, and his surname was rare, the surname tax, maybe I was lonely and unheard, anyway, I met this surname for the first time, I called him Brother Tax, he graduated from Xianyang Tibetan University for Nationalities, has rich work experience, and taught a lot of things.

The work in the township is relatively easy, generally it is to write briefings, and there are many things to do in the middle of the year and at the end of the year, and it is necessary to write large-scale report materials, work summaries, etc., but in general there is not much to do.

When I have nothing to do, I just drink and play cards, play cards and drink (in fact, sometimes I am busy, and I am not busy day or night, and I receive five or six working groups a day, including the county, Ali region, and the Tibet Autonomous Region level, and I am busy at that time, reporting and reporting, and I can't finish the meetings, the meeting minutes are written, and the materials are inexhaustible.

Drinking in the township, there is a characteristic, rarely drink liquor.

In fact, in Tibetan areas, the Tibetan friends I know basically don't drink liquor, except for the general manager of the village-based work team.

They all like to drink beer and barley wine, and they don't drink quickly, but the time is very long, from dinner, starting at eight or nine o'clock in the evening, they can generally drink until two or three o'clock in the morning. In those days, I really drank enough fake wine, and the Budweiser sold at the door was all fake wine, which led to the opportunity to go back to Lhasa to drink the real Budweiser, which was particularly uncomfortable.

In the first year of the Chinese New Year (the Tibetan New Year and the Han Spring Festival happened to be the same day), the old Han cadres in the township all went back on vacation, leaving me as a Han cadre, and the Tibetan cadres went back less, about one-third.

At that time, the township and the cadres each collected 1,000 yuan as the expenses for the seven-day New Year. The township used 130 trucks to pull a cart of beer, bought a lot of vegetables, and the township government and government also collected a few sheep from the herdsmen, starting from the evening of the Chinese New Year's Eve, and basically did not have to work on the seventh day of the new year.

Speaking of which, I have to say that non-local civil servants don't feel unfair, just imagine that when the New Year comes, they can't go home, stay in the township government, stay in the government, even if they eat and drink well every day, but the so-called feeling of missing relatives every festival is still not very comfortable.
