Shower Chapter 34: Returning Home (3)
"China (4)" - Andy Bathilda. :
Alternative Druid Alliance – Simic United:
Simic United is the steward of nature and wildlife in the world of Elsa; Their mission is to preserve the natural world while Aisha's city continues to grow. This syndicate seeks to protect the elements of this world that are mutually exclusive with urban development. Of course, it will not be easy, because the civilizational forces of the Aisha world threaten everything that is contrary to them. But the Simic allows the totality to coexist with the eerie of the abstraction, which provides a kind of space that is independent of the large urban system – the space on which their conservation mission rests.
The architecture of the Simic Union:
Sonot:
Sonots are large ocean-facing outfalls in harbor towns, and each Sonot is treated as a separate Simic habitat – some kind of oversized, upside-down, multi-level sewer. Each Sonot has its own cultural, ecological, and ethnic distribution, as well as its own speakers.
Sonott Zone 1:
As the first Sonotte to open, Somnot Ward 1 appears far away from District 10, which is the hometown of Speaker Gegana, though she is more often in Somnot Sector 7, where the Simic Federation Hall is located. Sonot Zone 1 is the smallest Sonot and also has a gloomy feel compared to the other Sonots. It is located in Rabi, the only seaport town in the Doro Empire.
Sonot Zone 4:
The largest of the Sonots, whose spokesperson is the ocean troll Terry Peak. The culture here is more brutal and straightforward than elsewhere, and the number of inhabitants is higher than average. Its location is the town of Icks in the kingdom of Ahmad. The biggest difference between Sonot's 4th District and the rest of the district is that it is not a drain near the ocean, it is located in the asphalt sea of the town of Icks - wild and sticky.
Sonot Zone 5:
Simic wanted to be secluded, but this Sonot has become a tourist attraction – a place where travelers can come to see the sea and observe Simic life. Simic did not resist this situation, but built a spiral staircase here to attract more tourists. This area is located in Port Dot, in the Territory of Tangneis, Holy Falcon.
Sonot Zone 7:
The only Sonotte that is not close to the ocean, the Seven Districts of Sonot are the only way to get to the Guild Hall, the place of Chamek. As everyone thinks, this is the busiest and most densely populated Sonot. It is located in Falkenridge, the capital of the Holy Falcon Empire, and it was remodeled from the sewers of Falkenridge. The forces here are intertwined, with Dimir, Orzhov and Gruul all having their presence here.
Branch:
Simic's guild members are organized by branches, not by specialty, role, or class. Each branch is created equal in the natural world: different individuals are adapted to different tasks, but all for the same goal. Branches are not forced, but usually exist in separate Sonots, with large branches splitting into more than two Simic cells. Here are a few of them:
Shell Branch:
This branch focuses on protection, defense, durability, and hobbies. From the lengthening of the exoskeleton all the way to the stability of the Sonotte Wall, it is under its protection.
Fin branches:
The guild focuses on the study of movement - whether it's literal mob movement (especially flying mobs) or resource movement between systems.
Mimic Branching:
This secret branch is responsible for developing strategies to blind other guilds, which include literal disguises, as well as magic to hide knowledge or actions. At the same time, they also study the use of biological abilities in the human body and magic. Brand, the Image-Feared Summoner, was once part of the mimicry branch of Simic United, but was expelled from Simic due to his unscrupulous and crazy experiments.
Roundabout Branch:
Cycle mode and transcendence magic are the specialties of this branch. Their projects include finding ways to turn or neutralize magic, as well as advancing nature.
Principle of fixation (colonization):
Sessile is a biological structure of seaweed and sponges that allows them to anchor and grow on rocks or other objects in the sea. In Simic's culture, this structure inspires a philosophical dogma advising guild members to never be too far removed from nature to avoid becoming "adrift" – a metaphor against the guild's past atrocities and ambitions. It is for this reason that the classes of the Simic Union allow members to be close to their Sonot, and the Simic has been living in the city for a much shorter time than other guilds. Sonots themselves are the opposite of seaweed or sponges, and the ocean is not where they "anchor". In the mouths of some Simic members, they prefer to refer to sessile as colonization.
Ascension:
However, the fixation principle does not mean that Simic is isolated or xenophobic. Another opposing notion that has taken root more deeply in Simic culture is the "surge". Scientifically, upwelling is an oceanic phenomenon in which deep water currents move to the surface of the sea to replenish used water. For Simic, it is a spiritual concept of fixed principles and desires. The return of deep-sea life to the surface, the birth of larger organisms, the thirst for natural science and knowledge, the slow increase of new Sonots... These are surges. The new and vigorous replace the old and exhausted, and the cycle of that replacement continues. This philosophy is similar to the cycle of life and death of the Spider Cult.
Spokesperson Jagana:
The solemn and tavered mermaid Druid Gegana is the current leader of Simic United. She was the spokesperson for Sonott 1 and the first to appear in the world of Elsa, and her edict heralded a new beginning of union. However, Jagana was quick to point out that her speech was decided by the Council of Chiefs, a secret organization of chiefs of all nine districts in Sonot. She claimed that the parliament could revoke her status at any time and allow another chief to replace her as leader. But those outside Simic see this as a false modesty, arguing that the parliament is in fact being manipulated by Gegana, and even questioning whether the parliament actually convenes.
Chamek:
The Simic Guild Hall is not a place dedicated to ceremonies or celebrations. In the seventh arrondissement of Sonot, there is a huge conference hall located below ground level; Once the rubble was cleared, the chamber became a meeting place for all the chiefs, as well as a meeting place for non-Simic visitors to meet with Jagana or other co-envoys. The Chamek's roof has multiple skylights covered with an organic heat-absorbing material called the Shell, which creates a milky white daylight that makes the chamber appear to be underwater. Thick kelp supports the walls of the huge conference hall, and seaweed clumps up at the edges of the walls and floor. The floor of the main hall is flat, except for a large table in a spiral shape, with a slightly raised podium in the center. It's hard to tell that it was once a run-down, dirty sewer.
Spiral Staircase:
Located in Sector 5 of Sonot, a large cylinder of sea creatures has been magically coaxed into growing steadily on the walls of Sonot, in the shape of a whirlpool, and stairs are carved into the whirlpool, forming a thoroughfare where surface residents can walk all the way to the ocean level. This is exactly how Simic reaches out to the people of the world of Elsa, where a resident can see, touch, step into, and even swim in the cold waters that they forgot thousands of years ago.
Lake District Jesseru:
In recent years, the scattered Simic people have understood that they are risking excessive isolation. In order to increase the visibility, Simic did a lot of things and worked hard to get their guild in front of the stage. One of the most dramatic examples of this is Jesserul, which is the entire underwater area. Most of the water in this shallow natural valley is only a few feet deep, but the deepest is as deep as 40 feet. Land creatures can fly through the area through flying Simic "ferry" creatures, like walking on a stone walkway supported by large bulbous plants.
Kalassis:
All of Simic's half-blood lifeforms are called Calassis; The New Simic Union is careful not to repeat the mistakes of Momivi (the Simic visionist) and his creature researchers, but the guild still uses magic to fuse new forms from existing creatures, just as different organisms are fused into a new species. Some of these fused creatures are unique and can't be remade, while others multiply and become part of a guild structure.

"Josh, can you take care of our southern herbivores here?" Lena asked her son's opinion, but her tone was a little unmistakable.
Joshua didn't really expect much from the tailor's shop, so he was happy to watch over their camel outside—the docile man was much more interesting than the tailor's shop. Let the women go in and choose!' He thought so, so he agreed to his mother's inquiry. At the same time, he was thinking about what kind of fun he would have while his mother and sister went shopping.
Lena was thinking about what color of cloth and thread she would want to buy, and perhaps a few leathers, but there were no fur shops or hunters in Flowerstown, so the tailor shop occasionally procured some good skins from foot merchants.
'Forget the skin of the peach-haired beast and the dog dragon. She thought that the previous experience of fighting the skin of the peach fur beast was not a good memory for Lena. Sometimes Lena has the urge to 'just burn these damn skins with a spell.' ’。 The untanned skin was so hard that Lena's bone needles couldn't even penetrate the fur of the peach-haired beasts very well, let alone the few uncleaned steel mustaches on the skin that had pierced her hands.
The proprietress of the tailor shop was a chubby middle-aged woman, and the shop was a two-room stone house. The façade of the house is beautifully decorated, with a plaque hanging from a pillar made of wood, and on the other side, an oil lamp is lit.
Lena snapped the door knocker, and the copper knocker made two "bells" sounds. Mrs. Pixar warmly opened the door and welcomed the Donavan family into the store. "Oops! Mrs. Donawan! Please come in, what a rarity. ”
Lena nodded as if she had said hello - a bit of a noble lady's style.
"Are you buying ready-to-wear today?" Or custom-made clothes? Or do you want to buy some cloth, leather or yarn? Mrs. Pixar took Lena back and forth between the shelves where the merchandise was kept, and asked.
"I've heard that you've recently had some beautiful fabrics and threads in your shop, can you tell me about them?" Lena asked.
"Oh! Madam! You're really well-informed and discerning. Come on, come on, you have a look here. Mrs. Pixar pointed to a few batches of satin and cloth and said, "Look, these are my family's new goods, and they are all good and good things." You touch the surface, and it's smooth; You're looking at the workmanship, a craft that only Falkenridge's weaver can have. ”
"The fabrics are good, but that's not what I want. My husband came here the other day, so don't go around the bush, take out the red and purple ones you have and take a look! ”
Mrs. Pixar hesitated, and then she said, "Madam, I beg your pardon—I will say more, we do have what you want." However, it is not on the shelves, and to be honest, these goodies are not cheap. ”
Lena felt a little embarrassed, and she thought, 'If only I were a noble lady.' But she wasn't. Although her and her husband's status was somewhat exalted compared to the commoners, their fate was still in the hands of the true aristocracy. So she pretended to be angry and screamed, "Just take it out!" ”
Mrs. Pixar obviously can't afford to offend Lena, not to mention that her husband Michael is a celebrity under the lord's throne. So although she didn't think Lena was willing to buy it, she brought a few of the best, newest pieces of cloth out of the warehouse.
Lena was so pleased with the purple one that she asked, "How much does this one cost?" ”
Mrs. Pixar replied dryly, "Dear Madam, this one costs 20 silver wolves." ”
'Oh my God! It's also too expensive. Lena thought. But the cloth was an eye-catcher, and it didn't seem so uncomfortable for Lena to buy it at the thought of making it into a dress to wear.
