Chapter Eighty-Eight: Prey

The low, muffled voice echoed in the monster's chest, like the painful groans of a sick man before he died, or like the roar of a beast before attacking. The voice made Chi You unconsciously take a step back.

Some yellow-green pus flowed out of the monster's mouth and fell on the monster's body, and Chi You's stomach throbbed slightly. The limbs on the monster's body are not thin compared to normal humans, but they are really slender compared to the huge body of this monster, compared to his huge and swollen belly. Chiyou was skeptical that the monster could do anything when it tried to move its body.

The monster's dim yellow eyeballs lingered on Chiyou's body for a moment, and then slowly closed its eyelids, so that the eyes were hidden in the fat on its face, as if it would feel very tired when it opened its eyes to see people.

Seeing that this monster no longer paid attention to himself, Chiyou breathed a sigh of relief, and quickly turned around and walked forward.

In the second half of the corridor, there were many open wards, and he didn't know what kind of scare and excitement would be brought to him in which room.

Fortunately, in the next few ward doors, there were only empty rooms with clean and tidy white tones. He hurried through the wards, and a nurse's table appeared on his right. This is followed by rooms labeled "disposal room", "examination room", "dispensing room" and so on.

The back of the nurse's desk looked empty, but the experience of meeting a nurse who could be invisible twice didn't make Chiyou relax. He cautiously approached the nurse's table, trying to see what was behind it in the eerie light.

On the wall behind the nurse's desk, there was a notice board with small notes clipped to it. Some of the small notes had lost their stickiness and fell quietly to the ground. The notes on these small slips of paper were messily written with some words, but unfortunately the handwriting had become pale and faded, and it was very sloppy, and Chi You could distinguish it for a while, and then gave up on this difficult attempt.

On the nurse's desk is a square-shaped electronic watch. On the electronic screen of the watch, the red number shows the current time.

3:44 a.m.

This is the first time since Chiyou entered the game that he knows the current time accurately.

"Anyone?"

Chi You waited for a while, and the number 4 in the last digit of the electronic watch jumped to 5, but no nurse behind the nurse's desk showed up to talk to him, so he lowered his voice and asked tentatively. His vocal cords were still dry, making his voice rough and unpleasant, but at least he could tell what he was trying to say.

He was the only voice in the empty hallway, and he didn't get a response.

Chiyou looked left and right again, tried to cross the nurse's table, and walked to the side room.

Until he walked into this room that said "Disposal Room", he was not hindered in any way, which made him relax a lot.

In this room, there was a bed that was the same as the one he had been to when he was in the emergency department, and this bed was clean, not dark red with blood like the one he had seen before. Leaning against the walls, there are several cabinets that reach straight to the ceiling. Chiyou walked over and pulled one of the doors.

The handle of this cabinet was cold, just like his cold hand, without the slightest temperature.

The door didn't move. Chiyou frowned and tried to pull again, but the door was still stubbornly closed.

He tried several other doors, all of which were locked. Chiyou couldn't help but regret a little, he only brought a rope in case of escape, and did not carry a tool that could pry open the cabinet. Now he could only hope that he could find a key to open the cabinet nearby, or a tool to take advantage of.

He turned and walked out of the room.

"Here is the radio announcement: At present, the number of prey remaining in the hospital is 2, and the approximate range of prey is the inpatient building, please keep up the good work."

Just as Chi You was about to step out of the room, an abrupt announcement sounded in the empty hallway, and a female voice broadcast the message without any emotion. The broadcast was repeated twice before the end faded into thin air.

The inpatient building, this is it, right?

Chi You's footsteps paused slightly, and he continued to walk towards the nurse's desk, not taking the broadcast to heart. Although he didn't see from the outside of the building how many floors the inpatient building had, in the glass corridor, he could briefly glance at the height of the building, which was at least a dozen stories high.

He won't try to help these so-called prey escape, and certainly won't chase them with the zombies, his most important task now is to gather enough medical supplies and leave the place as quickly as possible.

Chi You walked into the inside of the nurse's table, and the expression on his face that had been tense couldn't help but relax. As luck would have it, a large bunch of keys were hung on a hook on the inside of the nurse's table, and it was impossible to see the keys from the outside of the nurse's table.

He walked up quickly and picked up the keys. Each of these keys has a white piece of medical tape with symbols written on it, presumably to indicate the lock to which the key locks correspond. Unfortunately, these symbols have also become blurred. However, this is not a big problem, and with a few more experiments, you can definitely find the key for the lock.

Chiyou took the key and walked to the room again.

"Here is the radio announcement: the current number of prey remaining in the hospital 1, please keep up the good work."

At the moment when he turned around, the emotionless female voice just now sounded again on the radio after a few moments, and it was repeated twice before it gradually disappeared.

Chi You's footsteps paused for a moment, and then continued towards his destination.

The only thing he could do was to shake his head slightly, and sigh in his heart for the captured prey.

There is nothing to describe the process of trying to pick a lock. In a few minutes, the doors of this row of cabinets had been opened for Chi You. To his surprise, in addition to a large amount of gauze and some bottles and cans that he had no way to verify the efficacy of now, he also found a medical box in the cabinet that could be used to hold the loot.

As long as he takes these things out, he will be very fruitful from his trip to the level.

Chi You quickly stuffed rolls of gauze into the box, and selected a few bottles that looked like they contained alcohol, and stuffed them together. He couldn't help but miss the convenience of the player's package, at least if he encountered something he couldn't understand, he just stuffed it into the package and read the item notes on it.

Suddenly, his movements stopped.

Outside the hallway, there seemed to be something unusual.

Chi You tilted his head slightly, using his ears to catch the sound outside the room, and his brow gradually furrowed.

Yes, he heard it right, there were bursts of cacophony, from far and near, louder and louder.

The sound of the wind howling, and the sound of people shouting in the wind, was approaching his place little by little.

Chi You quickly stuffed the last few rolls of gauze into the box, then closed the box heavily, closed the lock on the box, lifted the box in his hand, and turned around. It was only a few seconds before he had done all this, and the noise outside the room had come to a very close distance, and he finally heard it clearly, it was indeed the sound of the wind whistling wildly, because there were already chaotic air currents that had burrowed into the room where he was, blowing his clothes and pants swaying wildly, like blades struggling and dancing in the cold autumn wind, ready to break free from his restraints at any moment.

"Ah, I'll go, what the hell, I love you, ahh

In the midst of the howling wind, a young man's hoarse shout rang out in front of the door of Chiyou's room.
