Chapter 45: The Visitor
Qing Huan thought that Li Yan was angry with her, and retreated from the door while busy apologizing.
When Li Yan saw Qing Huan, there was a smile on her face, and she got up and sent her back to the room.
"I just wanted to ask you if you want to eat." Qing Huan hurriedly explained on the road.
"I know." Li Yan smiled and touched her hair.
"Don't be angry." Qing Huan cautiously pulled his sleeve and said.
"I'm not mad at you, fool. Go to bed early today, I still have some business. β
"You're really not mad at me?" Qing Huan is still not at ease.
"Nope."
Qing welcomed Li Yan's gaze, and finally let him leave.
Then she lay on the bed, and finally remembered that Li Yan barely smiled when she saw her just now. So why did Li Yan seem a little annoyed? Qing Huan really couldn't think of it, and he didn't want to think about it too much, so he fell asleep.
When I woke up the next day, I found Agu sleeping in his room. Ah Gu also woke up when he heard Qing Huan get up, and said to her, "It was very late last night, and Brother Yuan asked me to come over and sleep with my wife. Presumably the others will have to sleep in that room. β
Qing Huan nodded and walked out the door. The courtyard was quiet, as if there was no one else but the two of them.
Qing Huan felt a little uneasy in his heart, so he knocked on the door, but no one answered.
She couldn't help but push open the door, where was there anyone in the house? The uneasiness began to magnify until she felt flustered.
Qing Huan called Agu together, and looked around in front of and behind the house, but there was no one.
There is only one place left in the end, which is Uncle Chen's house.
The two didn't even bother to eat breakfast, and went straight to Uncle Chen's house.
There, I found Li Yan with a tired face.
Qing Huan couldn't guess what was going on, and overnight, he felt that Li Yan had become a lot of vicissitudes.
Li Yan sat on the stone bench in the courtyard of Uncle Chen's house, and when he saw Qing Huan coming, he didn't smile and talk to her as usual.
"What's going on?" Qing Huan gently sat next to him and asked.
Li Yan's gaze was a little frozen, and he slowly looked at Qing Huan.
As if he hesitated for a long time, Li Yan spoke: "The prince forced the palace, and the first emperor died." Between the words, there was no temperature.
She had never seen such a Li Yan, while feeling distressed, hating herself for being incompetent, and hating the palace on the other hand, why did something happen again.
She knew that the language was very pale at this time, but she held Li Yan's hand tightly and stayed by his side quietly.
There is an osmanthus tree next to the stool, the wind blows, and the blooming osmanthus flowers fall scattered, fall on Li Yan's clothes, and fall in the long river of memory.
Qing Huan only remembered that when the wind blew, she felt that the autumn was getting cooler.
Except for these eight words, Li Yan didn't say anything more. Everything else was Yuan Chao she asked.
It turned out that after the crown prince Li Min forced Li Min away, his power continued to expand, and his ambitions also rose, which gradually made the emperor suspicious. Li Min relied on his power to cover the sky, and launched a coup d'Γ©tat when the emperor wanted to depose the crown prince, forcing the emperor to abdicate. Then the emperor was placed under house arrest, and outsiders were not allowed to see him, and it was not long before it was announced that the emperor had died.
Now the new emperor is extravagant, the party in the court and the central government is numerous, the traitors are wanton, the people's grievances are gradually rising, and the world seems to be in turmoil.
Qing Huan gasped.
I didn't expect it to be like this outside. They don't even know anything about this isolated place.
When his father died, I don't know how uncomfortable Li Yan would be as a son.
In the next few days, Li Yan was silent and did not take the initiative to talk to Qing Huan. Qing Huan felt sorry for him, and only accompanied him silently by his side.
A few days later, the two who had been there before returned.
That night, they continued to talk all night. Qing Huan was in the room next to her, tossing and turning, and she couldn't sleep well.
When I heard the rooster crowing, I got up and went to the yard to stretch my muscles. Two days ago, the Mid-Autumn Festival just passed, and because of this incident, everyone was not in the mood for the holiday.
After the Mid-Autumn Festival, the weather gets cooler. Qinghuan got up early in the yard and felt the cold.
A magnolia tree outside the yard was also tossed by the autumn wind, and the leaves turned yellow.
The door of the hall was still closed, and the candles were lit. Qing Huan didn't know what they were talking about, but she had been restless lately.
Suddenly, she heard the door open. The two of them walked out of it and went straight to the door, passing by Qing Huan as if they hadn't seen her.
Then Yuan Chao walked out, nodded to Qing Huan and went back to the room.
Finally, Li Yan, Qing Huan faintly saw his back sitting on the chair through the morning light, looking a little lonely.
Qing Huan walked in and sat quietly next to him.
Li Yancai slowly raised his head and looked at Qing Huan.
Qing Huan realized that this person's eyes were already red, and he looked exhausted. And not long ago, Li Yan was still an unrestrained person. And now, it was as if he had a mountain pressing down on him, and he was about to lose his breath.
Qing Huan took his hand, and silence was better than sound at this time.
What was surprising was that Li Yan actually pulled out his hand.
"I'm going back." He hoarsely spat out a few words.
Qing Huan knew that the ancients had funeral customs, especially when his father died, and he would keep filial piety for three years in order to show filial piety. The first emperor died, and Li Yan should go back.
Qing Huan nodded, expressing support for his decision.
"From now on, I am only the third prince, not Li Yan."
What does that mean? Qing Huan didn't quite understand, but still nodded in support.
"You and me, leave it at that."
Qing Huan froze, "What do you mean by that?" β
Li Yan slowly stood up and looked at her condescendingly: "I am the third prince, and you are just the people's daughter Meng Qinghuan." β
In just a few words, the worlds of difference between the two identities were thrown in front of Qing Huan, forcing her to face and admit it.
"I know you've been having a hard time lately," Qing Huan was anxious and tried to wrap around his waist, but was gently dodged by Li Yan.
"But at the ends of the earth, the mountains of swords and the sea of fire, I am willing to accompany you." Qing Huan didn't give up, and continued, his eyes burning, trying to find the meeting of his eyes.
But Li Yan turned his back to her, without any contact with her gaze, and was about to leave.
Qing Huan tugged at the corner of his clothes, and became more and more anxious: "You promised me before, you said that you would treat me sincerely from now on..."
Without waiting for Qinghuan to finish speaking, Li Yan cruelly took away the corners of his clothes and walked away without looking back.
Qing Huan looked at the background of Li Yan's resoluteness, tears burst out of the embankment, and he fell to the ground crying.
Ah Gu, who heard the movement, came out of the room, saw Qing Huan's grief-stricken appearance, hurriedly helped Qing Huan up, and let Qing Huan lean on her shoulder and cry bitterly.
