Chapter 13 Follow-up Interviews
One day, two years later, I was out on an interview when I suddenly received a call from someone claiming to be David's secretary, asking me to come to David's office. I thought about that incident two years ago, and I thought to myself, isn't it over? I was about to get something out of the other person's mouth when the phone hung up.
I hurried to the Nanhua Public Security Bureau.
Director's Office, I'm knocking on the door.
The guy who opened the door seemed familiar. I said, "I'll go to the Director of Health." He smiled at me and said, "Big reporter, you forgot about me?" β
I quickly remembered that he was the little cop who interrogated me that night two years ago and went back to my room with me to get my papers. I really couldn't find the words to make him happy, so I said, "I haven't seen you for two years, you've grown taller!" He smiled, led me to the door of David's office in the middle room, gently pushed the door open, and said, "Report to the Health Bureau, the reporter is here." β
David was looking at a document when he looked up at me and smiled at me and said, "Big reporter, sit down first." He motioned for me to sit on the couch next to his desk. Then he said to the young man, "Secretary Wang, you go out first and close the door." He continued to look at the document.
I was sitting on my lap, and I couldn't figure out what it meant.
David is obviously older than two years ago, with a knife-like cold face, some silver threads on both sideburns, dark and swollen eye bags, and at first glance, he often stays up late, works at the desk, and lacks sleep.
David was quickly busy, and he looked up and asked me for tea or coffee?
I said just drink tea.
He got up and made me a cup of black tea, handed it to me, and sat down on another sofa next to me.
I was even more confused, and I couldn't figure out what his purpose was for being so approachable.
There was a coffee cup on the coffee table, and he made himself a cup of coffee and said to me, "I'm used to coffee, this guy is more refreshing than tea." Then, taking a sip of coffee, his brow furrowed slightly, probably bitter, he put a small spoonful of sugar in the coffee cup, tore open a small milk bag, and poured it in. He stirred carefully for a while before picking up the cup and taking a sip with relish. Immediately, another cigarette was pulled out of the cigarette holder on the coffee table - "Smoking?" He asked me.
I shook my head and said, "I don't usually smoke it, I only smoke it when I write it." β
He said, "It's better to smoke less, I've also quit for a few months, and I still haven't quit." He looked at me and smiled.
He lit the cigarette with a lighter, took a deep breath, and then, holding the cigarette between his two fingers, put it to his lips, and looked at me with a grim expression, as if thinking about something.
It suddenly seemed to me that his style was a bit like Sherlock Holmesβif he had a pipe instead of a cigarette.
I was worried again, and I didn't know what medicine he was selling in his gourd.
"It's been two years." David sighed.
I said, "Yes." β
"I remember you, big reporter!"
"Thank you, Director, for remembering me for two years." I laughed.
"I often read your articles in the newspapers," he said, "and your reports are well written, very in-depth, and a genius." β
"Thank you for the compliment!" I say.
"How's your situation with that teacher?" He asked me suddenly.
To be honest, this guy's series of moves had already made me dizzy and nervous. I hurriedly reminded him with a smile: "Report to the director, that was two years ago!" "I'm naturally afraid of dealing with the police, who are always leading you in the clouds, maybe there's a hurdle somewhere, or a hole to bury and you will fall down if you are not careful.
David sneered and said, "I didn't mean that, I mean, did that visit affect the two of you in any way?" β
I said, "It didn't matter, and since then, I've cleared my mind and matured." β
David smiled and said, "You are young, you really have to be careful, don't talk about influencing others, if the woman's family knows, you kid will be in big trouble." β
I nodded, "Yes, but she came home shortly after." β
"Oh," he said, glancing up at me, "why?" β
"Her husband took her back." I said with some frustration.
"Oh, that's good, that's good." David said.
"Actually, at that time, I did fall in love with her a little." I say. I say this to tell David that my teacher and I are not messing around, we are in love.
"I can't love it, I can't love it." David hurriedly said.
I nodded.
"Okay, let's not talk about thatβI called you here today because I wanted to get to know you again and make friends; Second, I want to ask you for a favorβ" David took another sip of his coffee, and looked at me with a warm smile on his knife-cut face.
I was confused.
David said: "That's right, we're solving an important case these days. So, I would like to ask you to help write something. β
I let out a long sigh of relief, and finally let go of the hanging heart.
"Can you run with us for a few days?" David said.
I straightened up and said, "Report to the director, I'll ask the newspaper for instructions, and there should be no problem." β
It was a murder that shocked the island city.
Yu Dahai, one of the top ten outstanding young entrepreneurs in the island city and the most promising member of the CPPCC in the island city, was hacked to death by a group of people in the underground garage of the Huatian Hotel in Nanhua District, wearing eight knives and dying of life. Because of Yu Dahai's special identity, the leaders of the island city attached great importance to it and instructed the island city public security bureau to crack the case as soon as possible, and the island city public security bureau instructed the Nanhu branch of the jurisdiction where the case occurred to set up a special case team to quickly crack the case and arrest the criminals.
As the director of the South China Branch, David served as the commander-in-chief of the "Huatian Homicide Case" task force.
As a reporter invited by David, I conducted a comprehensive follow-up interview on the investigation of this case.
At the case analysis meeting, all the evidence of the investigators pointed to robbery and murder. However, David felt that there was something strange, he said: "First, the 20,000 yuan in Yu Dahai's handbag is a lot of cash, is it true that the criminals gave up the robbery because they were in a hurry to escape?" Second, the whole eight knives, each of which is not a fatal part, shows that the perpetrator does not want to put the sea to death, which is very different from the usual robbery and murder," David analyzed, "The real robbery and murder usually hopes to be solved quickly and ended with one knife, and it is absolutely impossible to swing eight knives, but the knife leaves room for the knife." β
David strongly disagreed, believing that this was a typical case of revenge murder.
David's analysis pointed out the direction for the characterization and investigation of the "Huatian Murder Case", and especially provided inspiration and guidance for the work of the investigators.
After the case analysis meeting, I wanted to report back to the company, and David happened to be out of the house, so he drove me himself.
David drove a Crown 3.0 police car, and as soon as the car started, he magically took out a police light from under the passenger seat, pressed it from the window to the roof of the car, the police light flashed, and the alarm whistled. As soon as he stepped on the accelerator, the police car shot forward at a gallop.
"I really envy you, it's majestic!" I sighed.
David glanced at me, smiled slightly, and said, "I still envy you, in fact, my dream when I was young was to be a reporter, but I didn't expect to be admitted to the police academy and become a policeman." David said.
"I also want to be a police officer, but I can't achieve it in this life." I say.
"It's not easy to be a policeman, but it's hard for a policeman." David said.
"The police are majestic!" I laughed, "-I heard that Director Wei used to be the captain of the criminal police?" β
David nodded and said, "More than ten years of old detectives." β
I said, "Especially the criminal police, the most awesome!" β
David laughed, glared at me, and said, "Awesome? When the case can't be solved, I can't see that you will be a bear. β
I laughed too, "I like to be a detective anyway." I said, "What is a detective?" The criminal police are a bunch of people smoking in a broken house for a meeting, from time to time someone reports the case, and after the room is full of smoke and smokes the mosquitoes to death, the captain suddenly wakes up, slaps the table, shouts and sets off, and then a bunch of police drive dozens of police cars, and pull the siren like an air defense siren, for fear that the criminal will not hear: the police are coming, the bad guys run away! When they arrived at their destination, they tucked a gun in their armpits, hung a pair of handcuffs on their trousers, kicked the door, and then didn't move! The criminals immediately knelt down with their heads in their hands. "I outlined my impressions of the criminal police in one go.
David laughed again when he heard this, and said, "You see this from the film and television novel, right?" I've read too many movies and TV novels! You literate people are too good at imagining that a few people can solve a case by sitting together, smoking cigarettes and bragging? How can it be as easy as you think! You don't know much about the criminal police, the work of the criminal police is not as simple as you think, a case, from the investigation and evidence collection at the scene of the crime, to find and ask witnesses, physical evidence testing, analysis of the motive of the crime, discussion of the case, report to the leadership for approval, to find the criminal's information, visit the relevant personnel, and finally to track the criminal, arrest the criminal, and submit to the procuratorate for approval of arrest, a lot of things are enough for us to do it day and night for weeks and months, if we encounter a squatting pit, day and night; When it comes to guns, police glory is a common thing. David looked at me dumbfounded, and continued, "If you follow this case, you will know how the criminal police work and live, and you will have to truly reflect our criminal police when you write reports in the future!" β
I nodded.
"Report to the director, I will definitely write a report on the most authentic and cutting-edge criminal police!" I laughed.
