For the rest of the journey, only the two of us could continue to move on.

After the main peak, people began to gradually become scarce, and in this place, there are idlers on the side of the road from time to time.

This place can be called a winding path through the secluded, although Jiuhua Mountain has been commercially developed, but there are still some places where any idlers are usually forbidden to enter.

And the place we came to is exactly that.

We first crossed a stream, passed a valley, and rested here for a while, Brother Hao Jie picked up the compass he carried with him and began to follow the terrain to the bottom of a mountain peak.

As soon as the two little monks heard my words, their eyes widened, and after glancing at each other, one of the little monks asked in a somewhat surprised tone, "How do you know that Yongkong is on this mountain?" ”

Hearing the little monk ask, I was surprised: "According to the seniority, Master Yongkong should be your senior, why don't you call him by more names, but call him by his Dharma name?" ”

The little monk did not answer my question positively, but shook his head and continued to ask the question just now.

Seeing him chattering, I had no choice but to turn my head and snort at Haojie.

Since just now, Brother Hao Jie has been taking his compass to measure east and west, and it seems that he is investigating the feng shui here.

Seeing that I called him Brother Haojie, he hurriedly stepped forward and began to explain to the two little monks the purpose of our coming up the mountain.

Of course, he certainly didn't say it so explicitly, but casually found some excuses.

The two little monks also seemed to be very careful, so they kept us at the bottom of the mountain, didn't let us go up the mountain, and said that they didn't receive any notice, so they couldn't let them go, so Brother Haojie and I didn't embarrass them.

It's good now, we can't break through if we are stopped at the bottom of the mountain, and we are a little embarrassed for a while, and we are frozen here.

These two little monks were very patient, they didn't lose their temper with us, they didn't say anything nasty, anyway, they summed it up in one sentence: don't let us go up!

Just when everyone was deadlocked, a melodious bell suddenly sounded on the mountain.

When I heard this bell, I immediately looked puzzled, because ringing the bell in the temple is a very important thing, and it can even be said that it is very important.

The bell of the temple is also called the bell of the temple...

The production of the bell is the product of the rise of Buddhism and monasteries.

The Buddha bell is the Buddha bell, as the name suggests, it is used for the temple to do Buddhist things, or to gather monks to go to the temple, chant sutras to do homework, and other things such as getting up, sleeping, eating, etc. are all called by the bell.

Therefore, different bells are rung for different purposes. But there are also a lot of attention to ringing the bell, and it is said in the "Baizhang Qing Rules": "The big bell jungle orders the beginning of the capital." Dawn is to break the long night, and the alarm sleeps; The twilight strike is faint and ignorant. "Therefore when the bell is struck in the morning and dusk, it must be struck one hundred and eight times in a row.

The rule of one hundred and eight is related to "nine", because in ancient China, it was believed that "nine" had a very high and auspicious meaning.

And the twelve times of "nine" is exactly "one hundred and eight", which pushes the artistic conception of "nine" to the extreme.

The Buddhist bell is used for prayer, enlightenment, and transcendence of sentient beings. The bell of the monastery is mostly struck once in the morning and dusk, each time it is 18 times tight, 18 times slowly, and 18 times again if it is not in a hurry, and so on and so on twice, a total of 108 times.

As for why the bell is set at 108 times? There are two theories: one is that "Gezhi Jingyuan" quotes the cloud of "Zhu": "Whoever strikes the bell one hundred and eight times to correspond to the number of December, twenty-four solar terms, and seventy-two waits (five days for one wait)."

"The combination is 108, which symbolizes the reincarnation of the year, and the days are eternal. This shows that in an agrarian society, people wanted to be blessed with abundant food and clothing through the Buddha.

Another theory is that Buddhism believes that people have one hundred and eight kinds of afflictions, and one hundred and eight knocks can relieve them. Ringing the bell, he said: "When you hear the bell, your troubles are light; Wisdom is long, Bodhi is born; Out of hell, out of the pit of fire; May I become a Buddha and save all sentient beings. So, chanting sutras or mantras one hundred and eight times, Buddha beads one hundred and eight, and even bodhisattvas one hundred and eight times, are all in order to eliminate people's troubles and achieve excellent and auspicious meanings.

The bell rings 108 times to get rid of the troubles of the world, and it is called "one hundred and eight bells" in Buddhism. In general, monasteries beat the bell and drum every morning and dusk, which is called the morning bell and dusk drum, to warn practitioners to be diligent and diligent and not to let go.

Ordinary tourists and pilgrims have to hit the bell three times when they go to the temple, as for why do they have to hit it three times? It is said that striking the bell three times represents blessing, Lu and longevity.

The blessing here refers to the blessing of happiness, the Lu refers to the high-ranking officials, and the longevity refers to the prolongation of life. Therefore, all those who go to the temple to burn incense and worship the Buddha have to ring the bell three times to pray for good health, good fortune, elimination of troubles, and growth of good roots.

But now there are no tourists in this wilderness, there is nothing else, and the time is not right, so this bell is extremely unusual!

After hearing this bell, the two little monks also calmed down and folded their hands and chanted, "Amitabha", and then bowed to me and Brother Haojie, and said: "Two donors, you can go up the mountain......

Although I don't understand why the two little monks suddenly let us go up the mountain, I can be sure that it must have a lot to do with the bell.

So, Brother Haojie and I didn't hesitate at the moment, and quickly said thank you to the two little monks, and then walked towards the mountain.
