Huang Yanpei asked
Mr. Huang Yanpei once said to Comrade Mao Zedong that many people, families, groups, localities, and even countries have not the dominance to break out of the cyclical rate. When Dafan first gathered, he concentrated on everything, no one did not care, no one did not work hard, maybe it was difficult and difficult at that time, and he could only find a life from ten thousand deaths. Then I gradually got better, and my spirit gradually let go. Inert seizures, from a minority to a majority, to the formation of an atmosphere, although there is a strong force, it cannot be reversed. Huang Yanpei hopes that the "monarchs of the CCP" can find a new way to break out of the cycle of successive rulers from hard work to detachment from the masses. Comrade Mao Zedong immediately replied that we have found a new road, and we can break out of this cycle, and this new road is democracy and follow the mass line. Only by letting the people supervise the government can the government not dare to relax. Only when everyone rises up to take responsibility will no one die. Comrade Mao Zedong highly summarized and summed up the theory and practice of the Communist Party of China, put forward the solemn and great call of "serving the people wholeheartedly", and wrote it into the party constitution as the sole purpose of our party. It can be seen that maintaining close ties with the masses of the people is determined by the nature and mission of our party, and is also the fine traditional style of work that our party has formed and adhered to in the course of protracted revolutionary struggle.

On the eve of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Mao Zedong and Huang Yanpei's "Yan'an pair" made a good story of exchanges between the Communist Party of China and the democratic parties.
Huang Yanpei is a well-known educator and social activist, who was determined to "save the country through education" in his early years, and made unremitting explorations in China's vocational education. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Huang Yanpei actively participated in the anti-Japanese salvation movement, joined the National Political Council as a social elite, and tried his best to maintain democracy and unity and promote the anti-Japanese struggle. In July 1945, in order to consolidate democratic unity and promote negotiations between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, Huang Yanpei and six other national political participants visited Yan'an. Although it was only five days, the simplicity and stability of the leaders of the Communist Party of China and the democracy and harmony of red Yan'an made Huang Yanpei sigh: "What I saw in the middle of the five days in Yan'an is, of course, quite close to my ideal."
During the visit, Mao Zedong asked Huang Yanpei what he thought. Huang Yanpei said frankly: "I have been born for more than 60 years, not to mention what I have heard, but what I have seen with my own eyes, is really the so-called 'its prosperity is also vigorous', 'its death is also sudden', a person, a family, a group, a place, and even a country, many units have not been able to jump out of the dominance of this cyclical rate...... In a piece of history, there are also those who are 'political slack', there are those who 'die in government', and there are those who 'seek glory and disgrace'. In short, there is no way to jump out of this cycle rate. Mao Zedong's answer was simply and decisive: "We have found a new way, and we can jump out of this cycle." This new path is democracy. Only by letting the people supervise the government can the government not dare to relax. Only when everyone rises up to take responsibility will no one die. In Huang Yanpei's view, "this is right", because "only by making the affairs of every place public to the people in every place can the land win people and everyone can do things." I am afraid that it is effective to use democracy to break this cyclical rate."
The "Yan'an pair" between Mao Zedong and Huang Yanpei is of great significance in the history of the party and the country. This is not only a portrayal of the sincerity of the Communist Party of China and the democratic parties, but also a testimony to the CPC's exploration of people's democracy and pursuit of the people's well-being.
Shortly after the end of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping visited the central committees of the eight democratic parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and he stressed in the discussion that a dialogue between Mao Zedong and Huang Yanpei in the Yan'an cave about the historical cyclical rate is still a good spur and warning to the Communist Party of China. The warning of revisiting the "historical cyclical rate", revisiting the warning of the "two musts", and warning that "Farewell My Concubine" may appear due to work style problems, all have a common direction, that is, "always maintain the fighting spirit of the Chinese Communists when the party was founded, and always maintain a pure heart for the people." Keeping the people in our hearts and fighting for the people is the precious wealth that our party has precipitated in the course of more than 90 years of ups and downs. As Xi Jinping declared at the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, no matter how far it goes, the Communist Party of China will never forget why it set out.
