Away from the people's troubles

Now we place a lot of emphasis on social stability. What is the most important guarantee? It is the masses and the millions of people who sincerely support the four cardinal principles and reform and opening up. "The key to governing the government lies in reassuring the people, and the way to reassure the people lies in observing their suffering." This sentence of the ancients is still worth learning from today. As long as we understand and deal with the people's sufferings well, "remove the people's troubles, such as removing the diseases of the heart", as long as we can truly represent the fundamental interests of the people and "take the hearts of the people as our hearts", we will attract and unite millions of people around us. Ming Gu Yanwu has a poem "Gou Jian inhabits the mountains, and the people can die", which means that the king of Yue, Gou Jian, inhabits in the Huiji Mountain, lies down and tastes the courage, and has won the trust of the people, and the people are willing to sacrifice their lives for it. The feudal monarch is contrary to the fundamental interests of the people, but when he comes to the people, he is willing to represent a little bit of the people's will, and is willing to share a little bit of happiness and suffering with the people, and the people can "die" for him. Our party's cadres are consistent with the fundamental interests of the masses of the people, and as long as we maintain close ties with the people and truly share weal and woe with the people, we will certainly reforge our flesh-and-blood ties with the masses and win the unity and unity of all the people.

"The people are only the country, and the people are solid", the people-oriented thought has deeply influenced Chinese society for thousands of years. "The key to governing the government lies in reassuring the people, and the way to reassure the people lies in observing their sufferings" and "removing the troubles of the people, such as removing the diseases of the heart", can be said to be a microcosm of people-oriented thinking.

In the tenth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, in order to alleviate social contradictions, Zhang Juzheng asked the Mingshen Sect to stop collecting money and grain nationwide, and no longer pursue the taxes owed by the people. The reason he put forward was: "The only thing to do is to reassure the people, and the way to reassure the people is to observe their suffering." This means that the key to achieving national stability is to enable the people to live and work in peace and contentment. And in order for the people to live and work in peace and contentment, it is necessary to be aware of their suffering. This "reassuring the people" measure is the embodiment of the people-oriented thinking.

Su Zhe is the son of Su Xun and the younger brother of Su Shi, and his life and knowledge are deeply influenced by his father and brother, mainly Confucianism, and he admires Mencius the "sub-sage" the most. Su Zhe had different views on Wang Anshi's reforms, so he wrote to Emperor Shenzong to express his views on the new law. In the Book of Emperor Shangshenzong, Su Zhe put forward many important points, one of which is "to remove the troubles of the people, such as removing the diseases of the heart". Su Zhe advised Song Shenzong that he should treat the people's suffering as his "disease of the heart" and put himself in the people's shoes to eliminate their worries.

"In the mountains, the Chinese people can die", from the poem "Autumn Mountain" by Gu Yanwu, a thinker in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. In 1645, the Qing army Nandu defeated the Hongguang regime of the Southern Ming Dynasty, and several of Gu Yanwu's relatives were martyred in the Jiading massacre. The author writes poems with grief and indignation, expressing the pain of the fall of the Southern Ming Dynasty and his determination to restore the country. Goujian, the king of Yue, was ashamed of revenge, living in the Huiji Mountain, lying on his salary and tasting his courage, and the people of Yue were willing to die with him and sacrifice his life for the country. The author borrowed the allusion of Gou Jian's restoration of the country to encourage the Southern Ming monarchs and ministers, as long as they have the determination to resist the enemy and restore the country, the people will respond in groups and reorganize the rivers and mountains.

Xi Jinping talked about the truth of investigating the people's suffering and eliminating the people's diseases, and reminded the cadres to do a good job in mass work. We must truly put ourselves in the position of the masses, personally understand the aspirations of the people, the people's suffering, and the people's weal and woe, and do our work to the hearts of the people. It is necessary to persist in putting the solution of people's livelihood problems in the first place in all work, understand more about the expectations of the masses, and do more things to help people in the snow.

"Take the hearts of the people as the heart", Xi Jinping has expressed this view on many occasions. He once deeply lamented that poverty alleviation was the thing he spent the most energy on. He once braved the severe cold of dozens of degrees below zero, went deep into the icy and snowy frontier, walked into the barren and poor old areas, inspected the people's feelings, listened to the people's opinions, and asked about the cold and warmth. He also wrote: "As a servant of the people, the northern Shaanxi Plateau is my root, because here I have cultivated my unchanging belief: to do practical things for the people!" "Wherever I go, I will always be a son of the yellow earth."
