Chapter 3: The Drowin People
Neil was swept down a narrow pipe by the raging current, and he had previously waved his arms to try to swim, but found that no move had helped, so he simply lay down in the pipe and drifted with the current, but he was still able to breathe with the oxygen supply device in an airtight mask.
He was surrounded by an indescribable semi-solid liquid, the color and viscosity of which reminded him of something unpleasant.
Neil slid through the dark pipe for about three or five minutes, almost desperate, and then he suddenly fell into a wide pond.
Neil wiped the slimy stuff off the outside of the mask with his gloves, and found himself in what looked like an underground sewage treatment plant, and there were a few lights on the rock wall above the pond that swayed and gave a faint light.
The body is still sore, but the brain is more tired than the body. This trip to the moon can be regarded as an adventure so far.
Neil mentally calculated roughly how deep he had fallen, how far he was from the ground, and he didn't know if he would have a chance to return to Earth, even if he could see Buzz again.
He dragged his heavy wet spacesuit and walked along a long corridor in a strange posture, while lamenting that there was so much liquid water on the moon, and it seemed that NASA had greatly underestimated the possibility of immigrating to the moon.
But wait, what the hell is going on in that secret room, that weird voice that rushes straight into the brain? And that magnificent, apparently artificially constructed, giant ball?
"In this way, there should already be intelligent beings on the moon. What did he mean by those words? Thousands of years? Where are the millennia? Did he count a circle around the earth as a year? Everything has its own end? I don't know anything else, I'm afraid I'm going to end up here. Neil chuckled bitterly, his legs moving forward mechanically, but he didn't know where he was going.
"If I'm under the moon right now, how long will it take to get back to the surface of the moon?" The corridor zigzags and continues upwards, and the black rock-paved underground passage is so wide that it is likely that the inhabitants of the moon are much taller than Neil.
From time to time, there are some narrow side roads on both sides of the tunnel, and sometimes there are even some tall stone gates built on the rock face, but Neil has no time to explore too much, and he chooses the wide side roads to walk, just to get back to the surface of the moon as soon as possible.
After walking for a long time, he came to a spacious platform, and there were three forks of similar width in front of him, and just when he was looking blankly and couldn't decide which way to go, he suddenly felt a bright light from something behind him, followed by a huge thing flying behind him with a strong wind, and before Neil could react, a black circular flying machine hovered in front of him like a huge hummingbird...... Neil had a terrified expression on his face the moment he was ejected from the aircraft, because he had forgotten to put on his helmet in his panic, but he immediately found that he was still in good condition, neither dying from balloons or suffocation.
The environment had a similar air pressure to Earth, and his fear became an unnecessary concern...... When he was still in the spacecraft, the oxygen supply device on his spacesuit had already given a low pressure alarm, and the two uniformed ones standing next to him at that time
The "giant" motioned for him to take off his helmet, which he carefully did, only to find that the aircraft was filled with oxygen, allowing him to breathe freely, and he understood why the two giants kept staring at him sideways and had disgust written all over their faces...... Earlier, the black flying machine hovering in front of Neil shot a bright light at him, almost blinding him in both eyes, and followed closely inside the flying machine
"Whoosh" catapulted two humanoid creatures,
"Knock knock" jumped in front of him twice, and without saying anything, he quickly put him into the aircraft and flew away.
Neil had no room to resist all along, as both humanoids were nearly twice as tall as him.
At this moment, Neil was caught between two uniformed giants, wearing a wet and smelly spacesuit, holding his helmet in his hand, and shuffled through the long corridor to a stop in front of a stone door.
A giant stepped forward and flipped the button, and after a few moments, the stone door slowly opened, and Neil was ushered into the room.
He raised his eyes to see a desk the size of a ping-pong table in the room, and behind the table sat a giant old man in a white robe, the old man had long hair and beard, his color was gray, the facial features on his face were tall and handsome, the lines were as clear as a knife carving, his eyes were cold, and his expression was not angry and arrogant.
One of the uniformed giants who had brought Neil stepped forward and bent down and whispered something to the old man behind the table, but Neil couldn't understand what he was saying.
The old man in the robe listened to the other man and looked at Neil out of the corner of his eye, Neil was standing next to the other uniformed giant, his expression was uneasy, and he felt like a bad student who had been caught by the director of discipline and returned to the academic affairs office after skipping school.
After the uniformed giant finished his report, he stepped aside with a serious expression, and the white-robed giant turned his chair to Neil, staring at him like a torch, and Neil couldn't help but shiver all over.
A concerned smile immediately appeared on the white-robed giant's face, and he stared into Neil's eyes, smiled and said in English, "Welcome, child of the earth. Neil squeezed an embarrassed smile on his face, telling himself to calm down.
The High Priest abruptly stood up from his seat, walked around the table to Neil, opened his arms and made a welcoming gesture, and said aloud, "Welcome to the moon, child!" Thousands of years have passed, and it is great to finally see the human beings of the earth set foot on this land again. I'm sorry that when you just landed, I should have asked you to come here directly in a polite and elegant way, but I didn't expect it...... Unexpectedly, there were some unexpected small situations, and such a small episode was born, which may have frightened you. Neil looked up at the god-like figure in front of him, and a smile froze on his face.
He nodded politely, and immediately shook his head in a panic, not knowing what to say for a moment. At the same time, he felt that because of the huge height difference, the way he kept looking up looked was a bit ridiculous.
The High Priest said to Neil with a broad smile on his face, "Son, I don't know your name yet......"
"Uh, my name is Neil Alden Armstrong and I'm from the United States...... Earth. ”
"Neil, welcome to the moon! It's more complicated than you thought, isn't it? I know you have a lot of questions in your mind right now, and as long as you are interested, I will answer them for you one by one. But I think before you do that, you'd better put this one on your body...... Changing out of this wet garment, maybe a good shower, and, pardoning my curiosity, I really want to know how you ended up in our sewer? ”
"Oh, this ......" Neil muttered,
"Perhaps, perhaps, I'm a little more curious than you are...... After our spacecraft landed on your planet, my companion and I put on spacesuits and prepared for the out-of-cabin mission. I was the first to step out of the cabin, when I suddenly saw a strong flash of light appear above my head, and almost at the same time, I was pulled by a mysterious force to penetrate the ground, suck downward, and I fell for no idea how long, and finally fell into the cesspool inexplicably. Neil made a vague statement, while deliberately concealing the scene in the secret room, and as he finished speaking, his eyes lowered and his brow furrowed, for fear that the other party would notice his slightly red cheeks and sudden rapid heartbeat.
The high priest held his chin with his thumb and forefinger, looked at Neil with a smile for a few seconds, then turned to the people beside him and said, "Take our guests to change their clothes." ”
"That...... Or...... If I can, I'd like to ask you for something to eat. After changing into a clean set of clothes (Neil was strange that the giants had small ones) and eating some delicious cereals, Neil now sat in a large high chair, and across from him sat the pleasant High Priest.
The High Priest's voice was low and magnetic, and his gaze became gentle, Neil felt that he was not as restrained as before, he forgot about his safety for a while, and he no longer thought about the lost Buzz, only to hear the other party's unhurried voice in his ears: "Neil, first solve your doubts." You are now on the same moon that you have always wanted to visit, but it is more than a thousand kilometers below the surface of the moon. We are inhabitants of the moon, and you can understand us as moon people for a while. My name is Schimer, and I'm the chief priest here. A few days ago, we had already observed your rockets heading here, and we had sent small reconnaissance ships to quietly observe you. Glad my child, you have finally made this step! In fact, we wanted to leave some information on the probe you launched to the moon, but we were afraid that doing so would disturb you and stop you, and we really wanted to see for ourselves what our children have become of now. So, we've decided to leave this surprise to you, Neil, the first human of your generation to come to the moon. Neil's eyes and mouth were wide open, and the expression on his face was a mixture of dreaming and stupidity, like a child listening to his father's bedtime story.
"Neil, I have to say that as a human being, you are really very lucky. From the moment you set foot on lunar soil, you are destined to learn more than your billions of fellow citizens, some of the little secrets that you have always cared about and puzzled and their little answers, and perhaps some other things, some surprises and surprises...... What's more, as a human being, you will also be given a noble mission that may be beyond your imagination. Neil, none of this is a dream, you need to be prepared to listen carefully. Neil involuntarily sat up a little straighter.
"I'll briefly describe the background of the story: as you know now, the moon is a hollow. It has been transformed into a large-scale, intricately honeycomb-like structure. In the interior of our moon, there are also mountains and rivers, farmland and villages, densely populated cities, and tall and majestic buildings, where we have lived for thousands of years, and where we have a great civilization that is far more advanced than your earth. It's just that it's all buried deep underground, and it's not known to you Earthlings. Luckily, you, and the rest of humanity on Earth, will have the opportunity to experience this very different and wonderful underworld in the future.
"It may sound new to you, but I tell you that your human ancestors have been here for thousands of years. They had lived here, and this was the kingdom of heaven they dreamed of reaching. They were the ones who helped us rebuild the moon and make it habitable. It's a pity that those past events have been sealed by the years, and time has erased the memories that remain in your human hearts.
"We are the inhabitants of the moon, you can call us the Moonmen, but our real name is the Drowgins. We may be taller than you, but we are almost the same as you. Like you, we are carbon-based creatures, we need to absorb oxygen, exhale carbon dioxide, and metabolize at the same time, so we live in a completely different interior of the moon than you know about the surface of the moon, where you can breathe freely as you would on Earth, and these are the results of our complete transformation of the moon. Neil listened quietly like a fairy tale, but when Schimer said this, he was a little confused.
Basic common sense tells him that natural selection is the survival of the fittest. There is an old Chinese saying called the southern orange and the northern orange, which talks about what kind of environment can grow what kind of fruit.
If these lunar creatures also need to breathe oxygen, then why would they be in such a wild planet, in such an environment devoid of atmosphere?
In a flash, the hoarse voice that had penetrated into his brain in the dim chamber flashed through Neil's mind again. If the oxygen-laden interior of the moon was the result of artificial modification, what would the moon have been like in the first place?
These tall Drowgins may not have been the original inhabitants of the moon. Neil looked at Schimer with a look of suspicion in his eyes, and he opened his mouth to speak.
The High Priest noticed the change in Neil's face, and he squinted his eyes at Neil for a moment, as if he had read the other's heart, and then continued: "Neil, you must wonder why we call ourselves Drowgins, and I will tell you the origin of this name, which is also our origin: we, Dzorkins, were not born on the moon, and our home planet is the Drow Venus that we used to be. Schimer's voice became deeper and deeper: "Drow Venus was once a planet in the solar system, and she was located between Venus and Earth. She was born 4.6 billion years ago, which is the age of your Earth, and for Drow Venus, it will be a little older - because of the different cycles around the Sun, the age of our history is also different from that of Earth, and one year on Earth is about 1.4 years of Drow Venus. The curious look in Neil's eyes grew stronger, and Schimer's gaze became more and more gentle.
The focus of his gaze swept over Neil's head, staring behind Neil in confusion, as if reminiscing about his childhood: "Drow Venus is a beautiful planet, she shines like a pearl in the solar system among other planets. Drow Venus is slightly less massive and smaller than Earth, and the outer layers of the star are surrounded by a thick atmosphere. Like the earth, it has endless plains, rolling hills, towering mountains and vast oceans, and the scenery is more beautiful than that of the earth. Compared to the earth, our geological structure is more symmetrical and stable, and the climate is not as complex and changeable, so there are few natural disasters. You humans may think that Earth is the most suitable planet for life in the solar system, but in fact, we are the true darlings of the Sun. The right distance from the sun makes us far more favorable than other planets. Drow Venus is the creation of the warmth of Mother Nature.
"Thanks to the heavens, we Drogin people have been able to appear on this beautiful planet. As the most advanced intelligent life in the solar system, we have created our own civilization step by step and have been developing well, but an unexpected occurrence completely broke the trajectory of our life......"
