Text Chapter 26 The Legend of the Water Palace of Qinglong Pond

What's going on here? Let's start with the origin of Qinglong Pond.

It is said that thousands of years ago, this place of Qinglongtan has not been developed, and it is still a wild place, called Qinglongzhuang. People laugh and run to their heart's content here, and live a pleasant, simple and primitive social life. One day, an extremely rare rainstorm fell in this place, and after the rainstorm, a waterhole was formed here. It is said that the water in the waterhole is the tears of Shakyamuni Buddha, and only with water can people cross people, which is the meaning of the so-called Cihang Pudu. According to legend, more than 300 years after Tang Sanzang learned the scriptures, Shakyamuni Buddha came to Nanganbu Continent, where China was located at that time, to investigate. He thought that he was influenced by the Buddhist scriptures of Tang Sanzang, and this place in Nanganbu Prefecture should be knowledgeable, peaceful and friendly, and stay away from war. At that time, China was in a period of chaos between five dynasties and ten countries, and seeing the people devastated by the war, Shakyamuni Buddha shed sad tears, and this waterhole was formed.

At that time, in Qinglongzhuang, men were responsible for hunting, women were responsible for picking wild fruits, and various tribes and families helped each other, worked and harvested together, which was completely the life of primitive communism. Based on our understanding of communism, people should be harmonious and courteous, and there should be no hatred. However, at that time, Qinglongzhuang had already begun to have conflicts of interests, perhaps at the end of the primitive society, or perhaps the emergence of private ownership led to the emergence of classes. Food is limited, people are greedy, and strife is inevitable.

There are two major families in Qinglongzhuang, the Zhang family and the Li family, which have become feuds due to the competition for land and food. However, it is said that there is a very beautiful and hard-working girl Wan'er in the Zhang family, who goes out to collect wild fruits every day and meets a handsome, chic and strong hunting man. They fell in love at first sight, and the wild beauty of the girl Wan'er and the handsome and strong young man Pan'er were deeply attracted to each other. Picking wild fruits, hunting, and singing mountain songs, they showed their admiration for each other to the fullest.

The place where they often meet is under an ancient tree on the edge of Qinglong Pond. At the end of that primitive society, their clothes were also so primitive and naked. Pan'er and Wan'er both wore skirts made of leaves, and they only wore skirts, and the rest of the place was undisguised and naked. Pan'er looked at Wan'er affectionately, admiring Wan'er's wild natural beauty, and her heart couldn't help but ripple. Looking at Wan'er's undulating chest, Pan'er's heart became more and more itchy, and she couldn't help but hug Wan'er. Wan'er was under Pan'er's wild kiss, and felt that there was something under him that often touched her, so she touched Pan'er out of curiosity, but she touched a hard thing, and instantly retracted her hand. Pan'er was unintentionally teased by Wan'er, and she was out of control, frantically tearing off Wan'er's bark skirt, under the ancient trees in the curtain, under the cover of the surrounding weeds, they enjoyed wild love like this.

Their unscrupulous love didn't last long. Later, Wan'er's father found out that she often had trysts with a man, and found out that this man was from the Li family. Since the Zhang family and the Li family are feuding, Wan'er's father naturally does not allow her to associate with Pan'er. Although Wan'er's father tried his best to stop it, Pan'er still often had trysts with Wan'er, either under the ancient trees of Qinglongtan or on the grass in the woods, and they lived a primitive and romantic life without love.

It is said that in primitive society, people only know their mothers, but not their fathers, and people live a hybrid life. I don't know if the men and women of that time were already humiliated by this kind of thing. In any case, Wan'er's actions seriously angered her father. Once, Wan'er returned home with unkempt hair and was severely beaten by her angry father. Unexpectedly, Wan'er's father shot too hard and inadvertently beat Wan'er to death. Wan'er was her father's pearl, but he accidentally killed his daughter, and his heart hurt like a cut. After crying for three days and three nights, Wan'er and her father reluctantly buried Wan'er.

Wan'er was not buried, she was buried by water, and she was thrown into Qinglong Pond. At that time, the area of Qinglong Pond was still very large, at least dozens of times that of now, and it should be called a "lake". Later, due to various geological changes, this "lake" has undergone vicissitudes of life, and it has shrunk to the size it is now. If we don't take care of the environment, many natural lakes may disappear, and what a sad thing! This Qinglong Pond in Qinglongzhuang used to be a lake, but now it has shrunk into a waterhole. If we don't protect Dongting Lake, Poyang Lake, etc., what will become of them in the future?

At that time, the formation time of Qinglong Pond was not long, and this waterhole had the function of "Cihang Pudu" in the early days, Wan'er soaked in the water, but woke up. When she opened her eyes, she saw a school of fish and shrimp swimming at a rapid pace, some of which swam and disappeared. She felt a huge attraction, and it turned out that a water monster behind her was opening its bloody mouth, revealing Bai Sensen's sharp teeth, and swallowing the swimming fish into her stomach. Wan'er avoided the attention of the water monster and turned around and swam forward.

The water monster ate all the fish, and he couldn't get enough of it, and saw a monster in front of him. In Wan'er's eyes, this water monster is a monster. In the same way, in the eyes of the water monster, Wan'er, a "person", is also a monster. The water monster compared the size of himself and Wan'er, and felt that he could defeat her, and he could eat her to a full meal. It spotted Wan'er's position, opened its bloody mouth, and chased after her. The water monster is huge and does not turn flexibly in the water, and Wan'er is constantly rising and falling, turning to avoid the attack of the water monster.

Wan'er swam to the shore and heard the sound of rushing water, it turned out that there was a small river by the lake, and the sand, gravel and mud in the river water flowed into the lake, and stones of different sizes were deposited to the bottom of the lake. The water monster chased after him, and was dazed by the deposited stones. The water monster looked at Wan'er and continued to attack her. Wan'er hugged a boulder to protect herself, and the water monster didn't care about thirty-seven twenty-one, and opened its blood basin to swallow the stone. The stone was so big that it got stuck in the monster's mouth, and the monster couldn't swallow it and couldn't spit it out, so it sank with the stone.

The stone punctured something and fell to the ground. Wan'er heard a loud explosion, she felt that the air around her was filled, the lake was gone, and she came to an unknown place. The water monster couldn't breathe here, and after tossing for a while, it died. Wan'er finally finds herself in a world at the bottom of the lake, which is completely different from the land. She built a stone house out of stones deposited in the river, searched everywhere for food, and settled under the water.

Wan'er lives a very lonely life alone under the water, and her mood is also very depressed, coupled with the frustration of "love", she can't help but have strong resentment in her heart. Over time, Wan'er's body was severely deformed: her teeth fell out, her skin became like bark, her limbs became like dead branches, and she gained the aura of the underwater world, becoming a witch.

For a long time, there was only one witch (Miss Wan'er) living under the water. Later, there was an inter-tribal war in Qinglongzhuang, and the victorious side sank hundreds of people from the defeated side into the pool. It is also the luck of these people, after they sank into the water, they were soaked in the water, and they all woke up, so they survived and multiplied in the underwater world, and established the Qinglongtan Water Palace. The group also discovered the witch and persuaded her to move in with them and build an underwater home together. Miss Wan'er also tried to live with these people, trying to get along with them, but perhaps because she had become so ugly that she could not be compatible with them, she lived in her own stone house and lived an almost isolated life as a witch.
