Chapter 42: The Book of Ezekiel
And it came to pass on the fifth day of the fourth month of the thirtieth year, that Ezekiel was among the captives by the river Gebar, that the heavens were opened, and he saw a vision of God.
……
And I looked, and behold, a tempest was blowing from the north, and with it a great cloud that included flickering fire, and there was light round about, and out of the fire therein came pure gold as if it were shining brightly;
And out of it came the image of four living creatures. They were in the shape of a man, each with four faces and four wings; Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the hooves of a calf, and they were as bright as brass. Below the wings on all four sides are human hands.
And so the faces and wings of the four living creatures were: the wings were touching each other, and they walked without turning around, but they all went straight forward.
As for the appearance of the faces: the face of a man in the front, the face of a lion on the right, the face of an ox on the left, and the face of an eagle in the back. The two wings on the top of each are connected, and the two wings on the bottom of each are covered.
They all went on their own way, and wherever the spirit went, they went, and they walked without turning around. As for the image of the four living creatures, they are like the shape of a burning coal, and the shape of a torch. And the fire went up and down in the midst of the four living creatures, and it was shining brightly, and out of the fire came lightning bolts. The living creature ran to and fro like a flash of lightning.
And as I was looking at the living creature, I saw a round on the ground beside the face of the living creature. The shape and color of the wheel resemble that of water clairnel. The four wheels are all one style, shaped and practiced like a wheel within a wheel. When the wheel walks, it can go straight in all directions without turning around. As for the rims, they are tall and fearful. The four rims are surrounded by eyes.
The living creatures walked, and the wheels walked beside them; The living creatures rose from the earth, and the wheels went up. Where the spirit goes, the living creatures go; When the living creature ascends, the wheel also rises beside the living creature, for the spirit of the living creature is in the wheel. Those who walk, these also walk; Those who stand, these also stand. And those who ascended from the earth, the wheels also rose beside them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
Above the head of the living creature was the image of the firmament, which looked like a terrible crystal, spread over the head of the living creature. Below the firmament, the wings of living creatures are stretched out, facing each other, and each living creature has two wings covering its body. And as the living creatures walked, I heard the sound of their wings, like the sound of great water, like the voice of the Almighty, and like the roar of armies. When the living creature stands, it hangs its wings.
And there was a voice above their heads. When they stood still, they hung down their wings. Above their heads there was the image of a throne in the firmament, like a sapphire; Above the throne image there is a humanoid shape. And I saw from his loins upwards a shining pure gold, and round about it the shape of fire; And behold, from his loins downward, there was the shape of fire, and there was light around him. On a rainy day, the shape of the rainbow in the clouds is also the shape of the surrounding light.
This is the image of Jehovah's glory. When I saw it, I fell on my face,......。
