Chapter Seventy-Six: Enlightenment Buddhism Yuan Tao's face-to-face teaching is appropriate

a)

The parents were upstairs discussing the family time, but Wen Jing's mind was full of the mission of transforming sentient beings. Now, her greed has also expanded and sublimated from thinking about peanuts and beans cake to becoming a Buddha and Bodhisattva.

Her initial concept of Buddha and Bodhisattva came from the wood-carved Guanyin statue that her grandmother secretly worshipped, and the Buddha in the villain book "Journey to the West". She originally thought that the Buddha and Bodhisattva were a group of mythical characters with vast and omnipotent powers, but after this ancestor worship adventure, she realized that the Buddha and Bodhisattva were just a kind of compassionate beings, intellectually superb, extraordinary people, and a kind of person who has the ability to protect good people, punish bad people, and help the poor; The fact that she could become such a capital person in this life as long as she practiced the Dharma made her feel heartbroken.

"No wonder I grew up feeling different from ......"

Knowing a huge secret but no one sharing it, this sense of alienity and loneliness is like a circle of ripples in Wen Jing's heart lake. Because people like Sister Cuiying even doubt that she can see ghosts, let alone believe that she is a bodhisattva-candidate who will come back with a wish.

"If I tell people this secret, they will definitely think I'm crazy, or they'll think I'm a child talking in my sleep...... Even if I told my mother this secret, she might not believe it, because her belief in Buddha and Bodhisattva was limited to temporary cramming. If she told her father about this, and he wanted to denounce the Dharma as a feudal superstition, wouldn't he be slandering the Buddha's karma again? ”

After some weighing, Wen Jing decided to keep this secret deep in her heart, and never reveal a trace of her until she met a master or a like-minded person in the future, and then revealed her origin.

"But I still have a lot of questions for the second uncle, when will I see him again? Do I have to go up the mountain to see him? Wen Jing held her cheeks like this, blinking her dark eyes, and pondering hard while tapping the book with a pencil......

That night, after Wen Jing and her parents went to the Tangfeng Brigade Secretary's house for a banquet and came back, her eyelids felt tired and sleepy, as if a lot of blood had been drained at once. So, she waited less than nine o'clock to go to bed; Before going to bed, she had the heart to wait for Wen Yuantao to fall asleep to solve the many confusions in her heart.

However, there was no movement for several nights, and Wen Yuantao seemed to have forgotten the agreement with his niece to "find a chance to talk again". However, remembering that the second uncle told her to "wait patiently", Wen Jing decided to relax and go with the flow, what to do or what to do, and no longer deliberately look forward to and wait for anything.

On the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, Wen Yuanfang's couple's schedule was to go to Wen Liying's house, which was Wen Wuwei's sister's house, which was booked when Wen Liying came to her mother's house.

Wen Liying is similar in age to Zhu Yuliang, three or four years older than her younger brother Wu Wei. Because of her complicated family background, she married into a more remote mountain village ten miles away from Tangfeng Village after graduating from high school, and her husband was an honest farmer who was seven or eight years older than her.

Wen Liying and his wife have a son and a daughter. Although her husband Jiang Youxin has no culture, he treats his wife, children and mother-in-law very kindly, and the small life of a family of four is bitter and sweet. During the New Year's holidays, the couple always did not forget to carry a burden of hard work, came to Tangfeng Village to visit relatives who have always lived in black and white movies, and did their filial piety as their daughter and son-in-law with their modest efforts.

(b)

After breakfast on the fifth day of the new year, Wen Jing dressed up and prepared to go to Jiang Village's cousin's house with the adults. Before leaving, she suddenly felt a rumbling in her stomach, and ran impatiently to the latrine; Soon after, my stomach rang again, and I didn't hold back the second time, and unfortunately put a small puddle of yellow water in my pants......

"Why is it stomach trouble again? It must be the quilt at night! Zhu Yuliang complained while helping his daughter change her underwear.

It turned out that Wen Jing came to Tang Feng's grandmother's house for a few days, and slept with her aunt at night, because the ancestral carved wooden bed that her parents slept on was too narrow to accommodate three people.

Zhou Jiahong was busy during the day, and at night, because her mother-in-law downstairs had Yuan Shao with her at night, she was happy to sleep to death and snort loudly, so that she could continue to work non-stop like a wind-up alarm clock the next day. Therefore, whether Wen Jing kicked the quilt and stretched her arms at night, she didn't know at all.

"I don't want to go to Jiang Village anymore, I don't want to eat anything now, I just want to lie in bed." Wen Jing said weakly. Seeing this, everyone thought it would be good to let her clear her stomach and rest for a day, so they left her at home and let Zhou Jiahong take care of her.

So, Wen Wuwei took his father, uncle, and aunt and a group of four people to walk more than ten miles of mountain roads, and rushed to Jiang Village before lunch.

At noon that day, Wen Jing drank a small bowl of white rice porridge cooked for her by her aunt with pickled vegetables and snow vegetables, and felt that it was more enjoyable than anything she ate. She knew that her aunt could speak Japanese, so she begged her to speak a piece of Japanese to satisfy her curiosity.

"Haha! I've almost forgotten Japanese. Let me sing a Japanese song to Jingnan! After Zhou Jiahong finished speaking, he pulled the bellows, shook his head, and sang loudly.

After listening, Wen Jing was full of admiration for her aunt. She asked her aunt where she learned Japanese and why she wanted to learn Japanese. Zhou Jiahong said that Japanese was a compulsory subject when she was in school, and she also liked Japanese very much, and it was effortless to learn, so her Japanese score was always the first in the class. For this reason, she was often ostracized and ridiculed by her classmates.

Wen Jing couldn't figure out why her aunt, who was proficient in Japanese, was willing to do rough work in the countryside all her life? Why are you willing to accept the leadership of your illiterate mother-in-law all your life? And he has no heart, no lungs, no temper, and looks like he is happy. She suddenly felt that the eldest aunt was both respectable and amiable, cute and pitiful, and sometimes she was as innocent and innocent as a child!

Wen Jing had a long-standing question in her mind. She had asked a lot of people, but she didn't think they were telling her the truth. She thought that the eldest aunt would not be able to deceive, so she tried to ask, "Can you tell me where the little head was born?" ”

Zhou Jiahong looked back at his mother-in-law as if she was asleep, and whispered in a mysterious tone: "From where my mother is shouting!" ”

"Oh!" Wen Jing suddenly realized. It's unbelievable that a head as big as a hairy guy can be drilled out from a place where my mother is booed, but this place is much more credible than the "belly button eye" said by my aunt Yuzhen and the "squeaky nest" said by my second aunt Yushan. The point is that she doesn't think the eldest aunt is like a woman who can tease children.

At this time, Mrs. Lou Xiangfu turned over, panted and said, "Jiahong, remember...... In the afternoon, I will give it to Jing Nan...... Drink brown sugar ginger soup once and ...... it at night before going to bed Drink it once, it is estimated that the Ming Dynasty will be good! ”

"Okay, I've boiled a big pot!" Zhou Jiahong replied loudly.

At eight or nine o'clock in the evening, the team that went to Jiang Village did not return, and Wen Jing's eyelids were fighting again, and she was sleepy. After she drank a bowl of sweet and greasy brown sugar ginger soup, she fell asleep alone with the soup that her aunt poured her.

(c)

When she was in a daze and seemed to be asleep, Wen Jing suddenly heard someone whispering to her, and when she opened her eyes, she saw that it was the second uncle Wen Yuantao.

Wen Jing: "Why did the second uncle come?" I've been waiting for you for the past few days! ”

Wen Yuantao: "I know! But I can't get in, I can't get close to you, because there are several people in this house who are full of yang and bald and too strong, like your mother, daddy, and big brother Wuwei...... But they're not psychic like you. ”

Wen Jing: "Oh, no wonder! Second uncle, what exactly is Buddhism? Why is it that only the Dharma can save sentient beings? ”

Wen Yuantao: "If you poke a thorn in your hand, do you cut off the thorn that is exposed outside the epidermis, or do you use a needle to pick out the root of the thorn?" Of course you have to pick out the roots of the thorns, so that your flesh doesn't get thorns and will be restored to its original state, right? The Dharma, then, is the sharpest, most dexterous, and wisest needle in the world, and only it can pick out the three thorns that pierce the hearts of sentient beings, so that sentient beings can be free from suffering, happy, and liberated. Do you understand that? ”

Wen Jing: "One needle, three thorns? Not very clear. ”

Wen Yuantao: "The three thorns refer to the three major causes of sentient beings' suffering: delusion, separation, and attachment...... Oh, I'm talking so abstract and profound, I guess you can't digest it now. ”

Wen Jing: "Are Buddhas and Bodhisattvas human beings or not?" Is the Dharma a spell mastered by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas? ”

Wen Yuantao: "Buddhas and Bodhisattvas refer to enlightened beings, and they are forever enlightened beings who will never be confused again. What did you realize? Realize that all dharmas are empty, and all reality is a false truth. Because we are enlightened, we will no longer have delusions, separations, and attachments, so we will be free from suffering and happiness, and we will become Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. From unenlightened beings to enlightened Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, it can only be achieved through a series of methods, means, and pathways, which we collectively refer to as the Dharma. ”

Wen Jing: "All laws are empty, and all realities are false? Why do I get more confused the more I listen? You didn't say that I have been practicing the Dharma all my life, so why can't I understand you? ”

Wen Yuantao: "Don't be in a hurry, be patient!" Don't you like to eat mochi? Is the unheated mochi in winter as hard as a stone? But as long as you bake it over a simmer, it will be soft and edible in no time. You are like a piece of mochi that has been processed, but it only needs to be heated; Others are still in the stage of raw rice, rice and even seedlings...... It's too early to turn into mochi! Do you understand my analogy? ”

Wen Jing: "I kind of get it. It's like boiling water, my pot of water is still a few degrees away from boiling, and the other beings are still cold water or even ice cubes, and it's still too early for boiling to turn into water vapor! ”

Wen Yuantao: "Jing Nan is really smart!" Because you didn't boil this pot of water in the previous life, and the next life you cooled the pot of water a few degrees, this is called 'the mystery of the yin'. So, in this life, you have to work hard to heat up this pot of water before it can be boiled. Because your Buddha roots are deep, as long as you work hard to practice the Dharma in this life, you will be able to attain the Buddhahood. When you become a Buddha and a Bodhisattva, you will be able to save sentient beings and make them become Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. ”

Wen Jing: "Then what method do I use to save sentient beings?" ”

Wen Yuantao: "Use Buddhism!" If you have purified your karma through the practice of the Dharma, then every sutra and every Buddha name you recite is extremely energetic. If you dedicate the energy of reciting sutras and Buddha names, which is the merit, to sentient beings, sentient beings will receive this merit. With this merit, sentient beings can go to the three good paths and avoid falling into the three evil paths. ”

Wen Jing: "Are you talking about the six realms of reincarnation?" Why did the phrase 'six realms of reincarnation' pop into my head? ”

Wen Yuantao: "Haha! This is another proof that you practiced the Dharma in your past life. Your practice in this life is nothing more than restoring the fruits of your past life and gaining something. For example, you can communicate with ghost beings, but ordinary people can't. Because the eyes of ordinary people gradually close with age; And your heavenly eyes are always open, which is because you have practiced the Dharma for many lifetimes, and your karma is relatively pure. When your karma is completely pure, you will get the five eyes and six paths – and then you will be able to see not only your own past lives, but also the experiences of other beings. ”

Wen Jing: "Then why can't I practice Buddhism now, why do I have to wait until the future?" ”

Wen Yuantao: "To practice Buddhism, we need to have the three jewels of 'Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha'. First of all, due to the karma of sentient beings, there are no Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in this era to preach the Dharma in the world; Secondly, all the scriptures were burned, the temples were demolished, the mud bodhisattvas were smashed, and the monks were forced to return to the laity...... It's like a school, where the teachers are gone, the textbooks are burned, and the classrooms are destroyed, so why do the students go to the school? But one day in the future, the school will definitely reopen and gradually prosper! Then you will be able to study well and become the best student you can be. So, you'll have to be patient! ”

Wen Jing: "Since the second uncle understands Buddhism so well, why is he still suffering in the ghost path?" ”

Wen Yuantao: "I know that I can't do it!" First of all, there are no Buddhist scriptures to recite in the ghost road, and the paper ingots printed with the "Heart Sutra" that your grandmother burned to me before have many errors in the content of the "Heart Sutra", but I don't know how to make corrections; Secondly, my karma is very heavy, that is, I don't have enough good fortune and food, and I can't reincarnate as a new person. It's like someone knows the path to get rich, but he can't get rich without capital. Therefore, I need to accumulate capital, that is, accumulate merit in the ghost path, including me to remind you to practice the Dharma in this life, and tell Qin Sufen to come to you to seek liberation...... The greater my kindness, the greater my sustenance. The reason why I was able to call you so quickly is also my blessing! ”

Wen Jing: "How did the second uncle know that only Buddhism can save sentient beings?" ”

Wen Yuantao: "It can be said that success is also Xiao He, and defeat is also Xiao He." Didn't I die because I was addicted to "Jin * Mei"? After I fell into the ghost path, I deeply felt that the sentient beings in the ghost path were miserable, and I knew that "Jin * Mei" was a book of exhortation to cultivate Buddhism, not a book of prostitution and prostitution. Every time I repented and introspected myself, I repeatedly chewed on what the old monk said in the book, and felt that 'life is rare, and the Dharma smells bad' was true, and only then did I realize that Buddhism is the truth of the universe and the Noah's Ark out of the six seas ......of suffering."

Wen Jing: "I know. In the future, when I become a Buddha, I will definitely come to the second uncle first! Because you are the first teacher in my life to study Buddhism. ”

Wen Yuantao: "Jing Nan has this sentence, I am relieved." Your aunt and dad have now arrived at the entrance of the village, and I can't stay here for long. I'm going downstairs to talk to your grandma and aunt. Jingnan, our uncle and nephew regret it for a while! ”

After Wen Jing saw that the second uncle finished speaking, she hurried downstairs without looking back. After a while, she was awakened by a commotion downstairs, and she realized that she had just had a dream about Nanke.

(iv)

The team that went to Jiang Village recounted to Lou Xiangfu's mother-in-law and daughter-in-law how Wen Liying's family treated them with hospitality, and the process of leaving them for dinner before returning home. Seeing that it was not early, everyone washed and scrubbed, and lay down to rest.

Zhu Yuliang came to Wen Jing's bedside before going to bed, and when he saw his daughter awake, he asked how her stomach was. Wen Jing said that her stomach didn't hurt anymore, but she felt chills all over. Zhu Yuliang touched her forehead, and it was really cold. Wen Jing said that it was okay, and after a while, the eldest aunt came to sleep and it was hot.

The sixth day of junior high school is Wen Yuanfang's birthday, and this year is his fortieth birthday, so the family naturally has to make a special appearance for him. The old lady Lou Xiangfu stood up and ate her youngest son's birthday noodles.

During the banquet, Mrs. Lou Xiangfu said quietly: "It seems that my life is almost over, I dreamed that Tao came back last night." Tao said to me, 'Mom, being a ghost is very hard, you have to recite the Buddha a lot, and don't become a ghost in the future!' You have to pick a good person, and if you have the opportunity to reincarnate as a new person, you can become a Buddha in the future. He also said, 'Our family will come to the bitter end, and in the future someone in my family will become a Buddha, so you must not leave this house to become a wild ghost!' ’”

Wen Yuanfang laughed after hearing this: "Dreams are always absurd, don't believe in any dreams!" It's true to relax and take care of your body. ”

Zhou Jiahong was stunned when he heard this, and then said: "When Mom said this, I also remembered it." I was dozing off the table before you all came in last night. I also dreamed that a young man of fifteen or sixteen years old, dressed in a long robe, came into the house and said to me, 'Before my sister-in-law came to Wen's house, Tao unfortunately passed away. Although you and I are not deeply related, you have served my mother for decades and done your filial piety for her sons, which makes Tao really ashamed and grateful! Please sister-in-law must be bowed by Brother Tao! When he had finished speaking, he gave me a deep ......."

Before Zhou Jiahong's words were finished, Mrs. Lou Xiangfu wiped away her tears.

Then, Wen Yuanshao left the table and came to the patio silently, and Wen Yuanfang had to follow his eldest brother to the patio to look up at the sky.

Zhu Yuliang took out a handkerchief to wipe her mother-in-law's tears, Wen Wuwei silently continued to eat noodles, and Zhou Jiahong didn't know where he had said the wrong thing and was in a daze......

And Wen Jing's dark eyes looked at this and that, taking in everything.

After a while, Wen Yuanshao asked his younger brother: "Do you still think that dreams are absurd?" ”

"This ...... Alasβ€”" Wen Yuanfang was speechless.

……

On the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, it was the day when Wen Yuanfang's family of three left Tangfeng.

Before parting this time, Mrs. Lou Xiangfu did not take the hand of "Xiao Nan" Zhu Yuliang again. Perhaps the old man feels that what he says is a clichΓ© and does not need to be repeated; Maybe the old man feels that she is about to die, and her children and grandchildren have their own children and grandchildren, and she doesn't want to tell any more moths, thus ruining the happy ending of her novel.
